This last week we stopped in twice, once for cocktails and dessert and then again on Saturday to try the breakfast. All together this is three visits as we tried it the 2nd day they opened. None have been good. First, I REALLY want this place to make it! Rapid City West Side deserves to have it succeed. Second, I come from a restaurant family so am not just throwing things out there just because. Third, here was our experience each and every time: The servers when you get them are great. It took 10 minutes for us to even be seen sitting at the table. Once the food is delivered which took 20 minutes after ordered you literally have to hunt the server down simply to ask for something or get your ticket to pay. Our server had 4 tables. The food was not hot, it was lukewarm under the cover they put on it. Presentation was good but the food was not. The biscuit gravy is a mix gravy with slices of sausage that appeared to maybe be Andouille. Come on, choose a high quality gravy and make it real with real ground pork sausage. The biscuit was out of a box as well, had no flavor. The French Toast had great possibilities but came barely warm and no butter. Couldn't find the server to even request any. The scrambled eggs I got were NOT real eggs, they were out of a carton. Seriously?? A beautiful restaurant like this and I'm getting fake or premixed eggs? No thank you. The water is HORRIBLE. The table next to us and the waitress both agreed. They finally brought us bottled water. HORRID tasting. I applaud the menu and its prices. It's a simple menu without pages of options and the prices are very fair. That being said, if the food and service are not good most customers will not come back. The atmosphere is amazing however it was so cold that almost everyone was wearing their coat as they ate. We were seated more towards the front and it was 1130 in the morning so not sure if it would take that long for such a large space to heat up. My suggestions: -Light a fire under the wait staff. If they have only 4 tables there is no excuse for having to go look for them. We were told "sorry, I didn't see you because of the fire place". Ok so then stand where you can see your section. -If you are not making gravy from scratch then at least choose a high quality mix. And make sausage gravy right. I'd rather have GREAT food than pretty or fancy food. For God sakes use real eggs in everything!! -Light a fire under the kitchen staff or get more help so the food is served piping hot and in a reasonable amount of time! -Fix the water situation. We eat over at the Millstone all the time and their water does not taste like yours does. -Have a floor manager that is watching what's happening. Lots of people standing up front but no one paying attention. No one seeing that people are sat down but haven't seen a waitress or waiter for 10-15 minutes. Not good. Have the manager walking the room, checking with the tables, making sure peoples needs are being met. The whole place seriously needs more help. Lots of money invested in making the building look pretty but very little invested in help and quality of food. -Keep your wait staff in their sections. Their highest priority should be making the customer feel welcomed and taken care of. Instead they go hang out somewhere and it's not near their section. I so badly want this place to succeed. Eating out is expensive and any more it is a treat for most people. If I'm going to choose your restaurant to eat and spend my money I want to walk out full stating it was an amazing meal and experience. Three times for us that has not been the case. I get better quality of food and service at the Millstone. Their staff is amazing and you can smell the bacon and eggs when you walk in and when your food is served. The Park's food has zero smell, it did not entice my taste buds. So then tell me, why would I keep coming to the Park when I can get great food and service just across the parking lot? I could say more but have already written a book. I don't ever do reviews as I'd rather talk to the owner in person but when I asked where to give feedback I was sent online by the person at the front door so here I am. If I could give this place less than a star I would. The interior of the place is beautiful, great location of TVs, pinball machines, the most comfortable seats, BUT, the service is beyond horrific. Went in to the sports bar last night, the place wasn't even a quarter full of people, the karaoke was so loud you couldn't even talk to other people without yelling (the guy obviously doesn't know how to regulate speaker systems). We ordered 3 beers and it took 20 minutes to get them. When we finally got them, one was wrong and she took it to replace it, took her another 10 minutes to come back and ask us again what kind of beer it was because she was talking to some people at the bar and obviously forgot. Finally brought it back and told us she had been so busy (like we couldn't see you the entire time). Four or five people behind the bar, one was pouring drinks, the others were just kinda standing around wiping down the same area over and over. Someone dropped a glass in the bar and it took over 5 minutes for anyone even to react to it and when they finally did sweep it up and left, a customer needed to get the dust pan and re-sweep the area because of all the glass left still on the floor. This is by far the worst bar I've ever been into. It's definitely a management problem and for all the money they spent on the decor, it's a total waste if service is as bad as what we experienced.
