Forgot my razor at home while visiting Kauai for 14 days. So after 6 days of facial hair growth I decided to try the hot towel and razor shave . It was easy to schedule on The Parlor Kauai website. I arrived a few minutes early and sat. They have several big screen TVs with sports memorabilia scattered through out. I booked with Benny who is recommended for the hot towel straight edge razor shave. Benny did a fantastic job clearing the stubble off my face and random hairs. One of the best haircuts I've gotten in my life. It was a few months ago but I decided to make this review now because I just got a haircut so bad it made this place seem like I got my scalp touched by king Midas himself with how perfect it was. I have longer hair so I was worried he would cut it too short but he did an amazing job with it. Life gets busy and I had forgotten to schedule his appointment until the day before family photos. Oops... I was super lucky to secure an appointment for him the day of photos with Benny. If you live on kauai I recommend this place however I do not. They are cool guys and it has that Ice cube barber shop vibe but I got a simple fade and my barber missed an entire section behind my ears. I had to have it fixed when I got back to oahu. read more

I was 10 mins late for the appointment, and I had tried calling twice to ask if it is ok. They never ever pick up calls. I had arrived at the parlor and was waiting inside and no one attended asking if I had an appointment. All of them were busy laughing around and busy with there work. After another 10 mins - someone comes in to ask if I had an appointment and only to be told that I am too late and need to reschedule an appointment. I had no words to say and just left. I have just one advice - please pick up calls or please post online/email acknowledgment that no delay in appointments are accepted. In short - Worst customer service. read more

Terrible haircut. Dude had me facing backwards and was watching the sports the entire time while cutting my hair . Didn't know I didn't like what he was doing till he was basically done, because I was facing backward the entire time. Then when I asked for it shorter he got annoyed and claimed I didn't describe my haircut well. Anyway, I got a 30 dollar bowl cut. Worst part is the other barbers there were giving amazing haircuts. Maybe I'll try one of the other barbers but the one I had was an absolute joke. read more

Small kine Kauai shop. Great prices, super great guys. This is what a barbershop should be and feel like. Only three chairs and three barbers so you should definitely book an appointment through the website as walk ins will be hard to come by on most days (unless ya want to wait forever and keep fingers crossed) They got TVs to watch and is located right in Lihue. Worst haircut ever! Dont go to these hacks unless you just want shaved or buzzcut which half trained monkey could do. Uneven, not symetrical too short someplaces too long in others, chopped up. I showed him a picture of how i wanted it.. he still screwed it up! Does not know how to cut hair! I've been so busy I haven't been able to get a haircut for 6 weeks. My hair was a mess. I traveled 25 miles from Princeville to The Parlor. And boy was I glad I did. IAN was a gentlemen and offered to cut my hair even though I made a wrong appointment. He did a superb haircut and shave for me. I am a barber from Colorado and was staying in Kauai for two weeks, so needless to say I am a bit picky with my haircuts . I needed my fade touched up so I found Mani and the Parlor from Instagram and really liked his work. Scheduling was very easy with their online booking system, I got in with a couple days in advance and was set with my appointment. On vacation in Kauai and I needed a haircut. Made an appointment at The Parlor and found Manii waiting for me when I got in. I should mention, my hair is decievingly hard to cut (I have been told this by many a hair stylist). I gave Manii a brief rundown on my hair (he later agreed that it was more difficult than he would have thought), gave him a general idea of the length I wanted, and he set to work I must say, what Manii did with my hair was nothing short of astounding. If this isn't the best hair cut I've had, it's easily in the top 2. I'm said I'm only a vacationer to the island, because I would make the parlor my regular stop for a cut if I could.
