Howere, when my stay in Hawaii turned into a longer stay then expected, I needed a haircut. I kept driving past this place and noticed a line forming everyday. That has to be a good sign! The shop was 3 chairs and looks like an old school shop, just like I was hoping. Sadly, no straight razors or hot shaving cream. But the shop had a great vibe just the same. I just wish I had more hair to more fully enjoy the experience.

I had couple issues using the platform and had to refresh couple times re-input my info cc etc... - 1hr duration for a cut My apologies for not really paying attention to my confirmed time for Aug.17.23 at 3:00pm, I showed up little before 3:30pm thinking my appointment was at 3:30. Just got done with work 2am-1pm. Had to head to KVMH doctors at 2:30pm showed up early they took me in at 1:40ish, 2:30-2:50 picked up the kids from school. Went home dropped off the kids headed down to the shop. I was told I can't reschedule and I can't get a haircut at 3:30pm. I couldn't even get a compensation not even a refund being a first time customer. No credit and No Rescheduling. Maybe I'll try again? My total: $35 plus taxes/fees $4.80, 40% tip $15, $54.80. I got charged $39.80 | He took out the tip

Apparently, when it comes to my hurrr, I have high standards. Go figure! ‍ So I Google-stalked Boston Hair Design & called them to discuss this new adventure. Annmarie took my call & appeased my concerns. She booked me with her hubby Rick, the lead stylist at the salon. Rick is awwwwweeeessssooommmmmeee...! I mean we chatted like old friends immediately & the conversation just went happily for the entire time it took for him to take on the 90% pirate / 10% mermaid locks. I'll admit... I went a year & a half without a trim. It was dangerous territory for his first attempt. He listened to my needs & cut my hair to accommodate my lack of desire to maintain (yes even brush at times) or style. And I was stoked when he was all done!!! A lot of stylists will try to make your hair what they want to see or attempt to solicit a ton of expensive products. Having done dealt with this cray mane for over 30 years, I know what I want & what products work for me. Lots of trial & error! And Rick was down with that. Looks like I discovered my stylist for at least the next decade. And a couple of friends down at Boston Salon. Yeeee; that's a win for me, now to hit those sails! For review purposes; my hair is weathered like a surfer. I'm Caucasian, but my hair has taken on a similar texture to Latina ladies: thiiiicccckkkk & full to the max. I haven't dyed it in over 15 years & use organic shampoo & conditioner & a wet / dry brush. It's dry even if I go days without washing it. And again, I'm a brush & go kind of gal so no products after the shower, except for maybe some coconut oil...

Came with my cousins to get our hair done for a formal event that evening. I had an appt for a wash…read moreand style so I came in & perused some photos on my phone so I could show Rick, my hairstylist/owner. My cousin was first so we sat for a bit until Rick arrived as we came in a few minutes early for our appointments. I wanted long, flowy curls that would stand up to a few hours and into the night since I knew my hair would relax with the humidity and just naturally since my hair is long and fine. By the time it was my turn, I discussed my idea with Rick, showing my photos and telling him my hair doesn't hold a curl after awhile so I have to spray it with a lot of hairspray. He washed my hair with very warm water, then blow-dried/blow-out first to dry my hair. If the water is too hot, just communicate that. The hair dryer reminded me of my Dyson the way the air flowed and sounded. Afterwards, Rick sprayed my hair with an extreme hold hairspray prior to curling with a curling iron then sprayed again w/hairspray. I'd say only one time I felt the hot curling iron really close to my scalp. Otherwise, things went smoothly. I was probably finished within an hour. My curls were definitely sturdy. I asked Rick if he would tease the back of my hair since I like volume but he didn't want to add another dimension & mess with the curls. The curls held below the chin for the rest of the night but fell around my face and around my head. I think it was the humidity and because I have fine hair. It was a pretty style and my cousin who has really thick hair had curls that lasted all day and into the evening. My other cousin had an updo with soft face-framing curls. That was very elegant and the design of her bun in the back was intricate. Rick did a nice job working with her shorter-length hair with lots of bobby pins and creative design. The shop has a modern & spacious feel. There's a eyebrow services place adjoining the shop.

got hair cut from SUPERCUTs right before a christmas party and was pretty bummed when i left. It was already getting late so, i was trying to find places that would be able to fix my hair and was running out of options. As i was already heading west and remembered there was a place called THE LAB in Kalaheo but when i went to check they were already closing up and referred me to a barber at ELEMENT skin care & salon that might be able to help. At this point it was a.lready close to closing hours and when i got there the workers were so nice and being there was one person left for a hair cut i so lucky that IAN CLEMENTS was able to fit in to fix my hair. He stayed late to fix my hair and i am very thankful for that. He let me know what my options were and kind of broke everything down as he was determining my options. Ian Clements is, without a doubt, the Michael Jordan of hair cutting. The Michael B. Jordan, but still. The way his gentle but firm hands caressed my scalp cured my baldness, and right after I got my hair cut I won the lottery by playing the digits of his phone number! Every time he smiles a baby laughs, and his overall hair cutting skills are rivaled only by his boyish good looks and roguish charm. My husband had a haircut from Emery and really enjoyed the experience at The Parlor. Told me all about their tool chests, flat screen tv's playing sports and the softest barber chairs he has ever felt. Booking online was easy. Book early in your holiday as it is hard to get in. Our concierge at the hotel recommended The Parlor and he was spot on! read more
