Awful, rude customer service. I was a walk-in for a shampoo & blow dry. I was more than happy to wait- which the receptionist said would be for about 30 minutes. This was not a problem. After about 45 minutes- I asked how much longer I'd need to wait. The receptionist responded '45' minutes. I was OK with that- and sat back down. After waiting for well over an hour- I went to the receptionist and asked if they were ready. She responded "well, no, but we could see you at 2pm"- 2 more hours of waiting!" No apology, no explanation- just complete rudeness! Beware of any salon that thinks their customers time is a luxury to be wasted! read more

I have had the hardest time finding a good haircut/color place since moving to CO from Chicago. I was abel to stick to someone but then she moved on me, so my search began again. I went to the parlour needing a trim and retouching my highlights (which were minimal and just a few shades lighter than my normal hair). The staff was friendly and the salon was clean. The girl that did my hair hadn't scheduled enough time for a partial highlight so I ended up only getting the front done but it ended up being way lighter than what I wanted. When I said highlights she didn't bother to ask me how light or how many and just the stripey, bleach blonde look. My haircut was great though and went back because of that. This time it wasn't any better. Too many blonde highlights (that don't start against my scalp) and my cut was shorter than what I wanted. I'm sure there are better, more experienced people there but this girl was in my price range but not what I had expected/have gotten for my money. Regardless, won't be going back because I'm particular about my highlights. read more

I was not happy with my experience. It seemed like the stylist was rushing through the haircut, and I don't feel like she listened to what I wanted. She spent most of our short 30 minute appt washing and blowdrying my hair. While a blowout is nice that's not what I was there for. I wanted a good quality layered cut for my long, thick, wavy hair. What I got was a shorter than I wanted, unlayered, bland haircut with a nice blowout. It doesn't look horrible but it's not a great cut for thick, wavy hair. It's simply not what I asked for and I felt rushed. For the price it really wasn't worth it. I ended up going to another salon to get it fixed. I might go back to this salon to try a different stylist. I have heard that Chelsea is very good. Definitely do your research, not all of the stylists at the Parlour are worth going to. read more

For the record, I still love Heather! She's amazing! One day I really needed to get in and she wasn't available, so I ended up with Celia. Holy wow, this girl is talented. Every time I come in with a new idea, she's able to translate it to fit MY hair and it always turns out better than the photo I brought in. And she's chatty if I'm chatty, or mellow if I just need to zone out and relax. She's just incredible. Love her. read more

DON'T DO IT! Was assured by the receptionist that I should see Chelsea for a short. edgy point cut. When I arrived I found I was rebooked with Shannon, without so much as a curtsey call. Shannon did her best but she was shaking as she cut my hair and within 10 minutes of sitting down she was notified that she now had a bang trim waiting. Oh thanks, I call for specific needs and I get the bang trimmer? The cut wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't good. I'll not go back their again. read more

This place is good but you need to find a stylist that works for you. I have had three different people cut my hair (wavy, long hair) and only one of them (Chelsea) is great! And she is the only one I go back to. I'm a little picky with my hair, but it's a good solid place. They offer you a drink at the beginning, too :) read more

I had gotten my hair cut at the parlour in Fort Collins. I decided to try the one in Boulder. I scheduled an appointment with Chelsea since she got good reviews on Yelp. I have fine curly hair and hair cuts are an anxious experience for me as I have had my hair butchered too many times. This was my top 3 favorite haircuts ever. Definitely the best cut for wearing my hair curly. She used great products and my hair looks really healthy. Asked her not to cut too much since I'm trying to grow it out and she cleaned it up so its healthy but barely looks like any length came off. She also helped me in figuring out what style products would be good for my hair without pressuring me to buy anything. I will be back in a few weeks to get my hair colored. I love this place. Celia is amazing! She cuts my hair my husband's and our five year old daughter's hair. We all adore her. She won't stop until you love it and her hair cuts grow out better than some I've had by prominent salon owners. Ellie does my older daughter's hair and is amazing as well. I'm actually kind of reluctant to review The Parlour and specifically Chelsa in case this review means its going to be harder to get an appointment with her! She is the only hairdresser I go to here in the States. I am notoriously lazy with all things "girly" and she consistantly gives me a fantastic cut and colour that I don't need to do a thing with other than wash and let it dry (I did mention "laxy", right?). It always looks beyond fabulous when I leave the salon and maintains a great shape until the next appointment (which I make religiously). Heather is UNBELIEVABLE. She is knowledgable, has tons of experience, and gives one hell of a haircut! She gave me one of the best cuts I've ever gotten! The Parlour is just so amazing! You get customer service from the second you step in the door to the second you leave. Even the assistant who washed my hair knew so much about the industry. It blew me away when I had my first visit here last weekend. I had heard good things from other people, but so glad I got to experience it myself. I unfortunately wish I could give this place a better review. When Craig was there he gave me great haircuts! Last time I saw Evie for color and cut. The color is okay, but the haircut was horrible. I have curly hair and she cut it wet. Not a good combo. After letting it grow out for a couple of weeks I went somewhere else and got it fixed. The sides could be fixed but the back needs to grow out more. My hair is more curly in the back than it is on the sides so when it dries it shrinks up thus creating a hole in the back of my hair. Also her suggestions for how to condition my hair went against everything I have read or been told by other hairdressers. I bought a spray on detangler on her suggestion. I don't comb my hair when I get out of the shower. I have curly hair and that makes it frizzy. Definitely a waste of $20. She seems like a nice enough person but definitely not the right hairdresser for someone with curly hair. read more

I've been getting extensions done for a little over 5 years now at a very "high end" Denver salon. I was charged $1600 for what I thought would be worth every penny. I walked out feeling so guilty and mad that I just saved up all this money, and still my hair looked mediocre. I ran into this girl with literally the most beautiful hair I'd ever seen and just had to ask where she got it done. She referred me to Rachel Fox. OMGOSH. My life is forever changed. Everything from the customer service to the actual extensions/cut/color was impeccable. Rachel is so passionate and knowledgeable about what she does and it definitely shows in how truly amazing her work really is. I've never received so many compliments on my hair! I've been going to the Parlour for over 5 years. Craig is my favorite stylist, though we have had good luck with others there as well. I have lots and lots of hair (as do my children) and definitely require someone who knows how to handle it. Craig actually listens to what I want, and gets the long hair project. He has never taken off too much. Recently I felt like a change and asked his opinion about what he thought would look best, on me, and score! New do, that I actually liked. I'm sure all the stylists at the Parlour are experienced and are totally qualified. Unfortunately, I am pretty upset with how my hair turned out, not because of the quality, but because it's not at all what I asked for, or what Ashley and I discussed prior to my cut. We I agreed on 3-4 inches, and she said that my hair would fall around my armpit. 8 inches or so later, I now have hair that barely brushes my shoulders, chopped in a hard line all the way across. I'm bummed because I expressed to her how much I loved my length and she agreed! She seemed really cool and I totally trusted her (since I fully communicated what I wanted and she gave me the impression that we were on the same page). I feel like she decided what to do with my hair without touching base with me, and now I have an unflattering cut that I'm stuck with until it grows out. It definitely will take some time to regain my confidence, don't think I'll be able to go back. read more
