What better place to have this done than the French Quarter? We set out to Jackson Square, in search of the perfect Caricature artist for the job. Across from the Tabasco shop, we found Andrew Wilkie waiting for us. After looking at some display pieces, he sat us down and the drawing began. He was exceptionally friendly and easy-going. Our squirmy daughter was the first to be drawn, as she obviously had the shortest attention span. Andrew Wilkie had enough experience with the kiddos to make this suggestion. After sketching the 3 of us, he applied the color and finishing touches to present us with a fantastic (and hilarious) work of art. I now need to frame it and hang it in our living room. If anyone finds themselves in need of a caricature painting, this guy is fantastic. We even recommended him to a couple of tourists who happened to see the painting in our hands on the walk back to our car. From looking at his website, I think he does a variety of other types of art too - not just caricatures - but that is what I have experienced in person, so that's all I can review.
