I was having a hard time finding a company to take on a small drywall job (just 2 sheets), so I was happy when I found Patch Boys. I wish I would have read more reviews and found someone else to do the job or just done it myself.. The repair looks ok, but otherwise, I would not recommend this company. The communication was poor and work was unprofessional. The contractor removed the garage light fixture, did not replace it. I didn't know where he put it and had to search my garage shelves to find the fixture, then make a trip to the hardware store for the lost screws so that I could reinstall it. He left drywall screws all over the garage floor. I'm glad I noticed before we pulled the cars in. I hope I managed to find them all so that this poor work doesn't also result in expensive flat tire repairs. Save yourself the headache and do the work yourself for hire someone else. read more

I had a great experience when I reached out for a quote. They responded with a phone call over the weekend and assured me they could get someone out to my home that Monday. I was stoked because I had cut my hand removing tile from the wall myself. All I needed was someone to remove the residue and restructure the surface of the walls. It was a bit pricey at just under $900 but worth it because I'm learning DIY isn't for me. I had to ask the employee to finish because he was cleaning up and hadn't repaired a few large areas and I asked him to match the wall textures in case I didn't tile all the way up. I had to leave before he was done and came home to discover the job still not done to my satisfaction. I reached out after they sent the receipt asking for an itemized receipt because I wasn't happy with the results and didn't hear back. We ended up timing the whole surface of the kitchen because of the poor job that was done and tile is not cheap my friends. Bummer, but you can't win them all in the world of home improvements. read more

Addition to this review: the manager did contact me after realizing that I posted low reviews, and gave me a long explanation about why they couldn't come out as scheduled, that if they came out that an estimate would require them to cut out the ceilings to gain access to the section above the ceiling, it would require tarps and extra work and labor, and normally they only will only do photo estimates and never site visits (so it's either just looking at phone photos, or tearing up my kitchen and bathroom? It makes no sense) and knowing it's for a court case now, that they don't do those (other companies just gave their estimates, the water remediation company already assessed the above the ceiling damage - I just needed a drywall replacement estimate, nothing else. After the Manager's long explanation, he brought up the reviews, how damaging they are to the business, but this is also damaging to me - I took a day off of work, which is very hard to do, and I desperately need this estimate and believed it would happen. So they did call back, but it was more about the review and reasons why they couldn't honor the site visit (which was not a problem when I originally set up the appointment), and said to send photos. I was supposed to have a physical inspection of damages today 12/19, the appointment was verified earlier this week by text messages. I work at a hospital, and it is incredibly difficult to get time off work during the holiday weeks because so many elderly and other veterans get sick because of the stress of the season. I also need this estimate for a court case that has a short deadline. Patch Boys cancelled the appointment this morning - I begged and pleaded with them to keep the appointment, explained that I won't be allowed time off until the week after New Year's - I need this estimate. They didn't care, they thought it was funny. I can't meet the court deadline now, the loss of the case would bankrupt me. We needed dry wall removed and replaced. The work was extremely shoddy. The contract I signed indicated that the work would be taped. However, this did not happen. The area around one of the pipes didn't fit well so the "technician" simply ripped away the part he didn't like and the other photo reflects how uneven the work is and no taping over the seams. They gave an estimate over the phone/text/email (assuming to save money on estimate). seemed reasonable so we had them come out, said they would do the job and you wouldn't even notice a difference when they were done. now we're stuck with a crappy patch and crappy texture that doesn't match. when questionEd they told us only a pump truck texture would be able to match. tell us upfront rather than telling us it will match! read more

I wouldn't recommend this company. We had some plumbing work done which left us with large holes in the wall. The quote process for the Patch Guys was good, they were very responsive and helpful. But the guy who actually did the work did a terrible job. He didn't make it level with the rest of the wall so now my trim doesn't fit, and that's on top of how ragged it looks at the bottom. I didn't think it would matter but since the trim doesn't fit anymore there's a hole at the bottom of the wall. Also - when he was done, he just left. He didn't say goodbye, he didn't say he was finished, he just walked out. I'd love to get this fixed but I honestly don't trust these guys to fix the mess they made...looks like I'm going to have to save up and get a different company to fix the mess. read more

AVOID this company at all costs. Use this company if: 1. You would like to be treated poorly over the phone and in person in your own home. 2. You would like to have your chandelier fixture improperly drywalled directly to the ceiling and to have wet drywall material stuck to your fixture for you to clean up by yourself because they refuse to do the job properly. 3. You want wet drywall material splattered all over your carpet and hardwoods for you to clean up because cleaning up after themselves is below Patch Boys. 4. You want to have the worst drywall repair done where you now have to hire a second company to come fix the damage incurred by this company. This company was terrible from start to fake finish. The foreman came out and agreed that the prior work was unacceptable. The new worker assigned did a really nice job, repairing all of the previous worker's problems. Don't think I will use them again. They were quick to respond with a quote but when the day came to do the work they were many hours late, rude, tracked water all through my house, and then touched all my railings and door leaving a big mess to me to clean after leaving. He basically ran out the door when completing the work not leaving me any time to check the work on the next floor up or ask follow up questions. Before I get really into this review, you should know that I really didn't want to write this negative review. I did try to work it out with Patch Boys first for a couple of months. I have hired Patch Boys three times now. The first job went very well and the drywall technician did an amazing job. He repaired a textured wall that had to be opened up after a plumbing repair. The second job didn't turn out very well and will need to be re-done. However, the drywall technician did warn me that, because he was trying to patch a textured ceiling, the whole ceiling might have to be done if his attempt didn't turn out well. (This explanation was supported by another drywall company as well.) The third job, December 7, 2022, was a disaster. The technicians didn't really get to work until 11:00. They came earlier in the day and then disappeared, which prompted a call by me to Patch Boys about the absence (I had wondered if they went to finish another job or something.) The technicians returned and stayed for about three hours. The job involved patching several holes, one large indent, and one closet (shelving that had been ripped out had caused a lot of damage). I showed the technician a hole in the laundry room and told him NOT to cover it up and explained I would be getting an access panel for the area. The hole was access to plumbing. The technician covered the hole up instead and now it must be opened back up again. No surface that was patched by Patch Boys was left smooth and ready to paint. If/When tape was used, the grids of the tape were still showing when the technicians left. I have included just four pictures of what most every area was left looking like. The painters were arriving the day after the Patch Boys, so if the Patch Boys didn't do a good job in one a or more areas on December 7, I would have to resolve after and re-paint the affected areas. The painters were at my home for over a week. After their departure, I reached out to Patch Boys again. They offered to send the same drywall technician out, but I refused and asked them to send out another team. This was before Christmas. Then, I did not hear from Patch Boys again. I reached out again in early January and have been trying to engage them ever since. I finally hired another company, who did a great job and re-did about 75% of the job the Patch Boys did for $1,100. There's still more re-work to do. I reached out to Patch Boys and asked for a refund of what I paid - $1,250. I received a call and was told the manager would be calling me. To date, I have not received a call from the manager. On January 6, I gave Patch Boys until Tuesday, January 10 to respond. I received a call on January 10 that the manager was sick and had lost his voice. I responded that I needed to hear from him by Friday, January 13 with a response to my refund request. I then received the following email response on Tuesday, January 17 from Patch Boys - "Hi Amy, We apologize for the inconvenience. Since we spoke last week we went ahead and submitted your request for a refund. Unfortunately, timing hasn't been the best since our manager has been out sick and he is the one that needs to provide the final approval. We are working on doing the best we can to help speed up the process of your request. We should be getting back to you by Thursday." I wonder what Thursday they meant?!? I had to reach out again because the refund has still not been received. To date, I have still not received a refund from Patch Boys. I have received additional excuses however. I am really surprised that my experience with Patch Boys has turned out so negative and I cannot refer them to anyone. However, I can refer The Wall Rebuilder. They are awesome and did a very nice job cleaning up for The Patch Boys. I will be using The Wall Rebuilder in the future. read more

Patch Boys was highly disappointing in their quality and service. They were very efficient and effective in producing a competitive quote for a ceiling repair and painting project. However, the work with incompletely executed the first time, and sloppily repaired during the second attempt. The first technician patched the holes and painted over them but did not paint the ceiling as indicated in the contract. However, he did manage to get some white paint on the blue walls. Patch Boys was very efficient in charging my credit card as soon as this work was 'done'. The efficiency and responsiveness stopped there. It took weeks to get someone out to look at how to fix the problem. They even pulled the 'your technician left town due to a family emergency...so we can't get anybody out there' racket. The second guy who came to finish the job seemed professional and effective. However, he apparently didn't do much masking as he painted the ceiling. There is a fine spray of white paint over everything. The carpet, sheets, and furniture all have an even coating of paint spatter. We have reached out to the company again, but haven't heard anything. Engage at your own risk. read more

Technician 'James' arrived on time and did an outstanding job. He was compassionate, kind and professional while delivering outstanding work. Do not use this company. I had a very small repair in my ceiling that needed to be done. I hired Patch Boys and had to wait a month to get it fixed. I had to schedule a weekday because they aren't available on the weekends. After taking the day off I get a call saying they aren't coming AFTER they were supposed to be here. Then Mike calls and apologizes and I ask him when he can do it and he says "I don't know, I have to check the calendar." If you don't honor your appointments you should make every effort to accommodate the customer and get the job done right away!!
