I randomly found this place walking in the area, and it was a pleasant surprise! The lady at the register was really sweet and I didn't have to wait long for my order. I have a big sweet tooth and love cinnamon rolls, so I ordered the peanut butter praline cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was very thick and the dough was soft, but the cinnamon roll this was VERRRRRRRYYYYYYY sweet and rich, borderline diabetes. After scraping off some of the icing and toppings, it was good. Please keep in mind that the cinnamon roll is enough for two people. This is definitely a cheat meal/ big back type of dessert lol. I had a GREAT experience and will more than likely try some of the menu items that may not have multiple sweet toppings. Overall, I would recommend coming to this place for a great dessert!

The desserts here are so delicious! I appreciate that you can customize anything you get to tailor it to your taste, the more sugar the better right? The family that owns this place is also super warm and welcoming! Definitely a place to try out if you're in the area

Amazing cozy little place in Davidson, NC! This time we had the ice cream with the cherry cheesecake in it and the banana pudding and both were amazing!! Quickly becoming one of our favorite places to go for a dessert!! The service is amazing and the owners were just as nice the second time as the first time!

    The BEST dessert place around!!!

We're in NC for a family visit... Wow!!! I highly recommend.. delicious dessert, very clean atmosphere, amazing, friendly owners.... This will definitely be a place we visit any time we are here!!!!

    Loved it!

The staff is friendly! The peach cobbler and churros are delicious! My son had a cinnamon roll and absolutely loved it! Great service and great food!

    OG banana pudding

walk in the door and immediately smells like something good is happening here :-) greeted by the proprietor who sounds like she's handling a middling crisis on the phone which is a tiny bit off putting but also very relatable and whatever was going on didn't detract from my customery experience except that I didn't have much opportunity to engage her on this visit and I wasn't feeling tip-top anyway. menu boards on the wall list cobblers and cinnamon rolls, waffles and shakes, and cookies and brownies and an assortment of beverages so after hemming and hawing for a bit I decided on the peach cobbler (natch) to eat in. it comes out super hot in a cup with a side of vanilla ice cream in its own cup along with a spoon to help split the temperature difference. cobbler has a good appearance with lots of biscuit showing through the ooey gooey candied fruit filling with large bits of fruit in there too! sweet like you'd expect, but not deathly so and it all mixes together well as you get near the bottom and the cobbler cools. got a couple bigger and better baked goods to go as well: carnival cookie and a cherry cordial brownie which I dipped into at work. the brownie is soft and firm and chocolatey and fully one inch thick by four and a half inches square. on top is a generous scoop of cherry cordial surrounded by whipped toppings; really ought to portion this out before hand to avoid medical complications. I can only process so much sweet in an evening so more on that on the morrow :-) I can hardly wait to see what the day brings...

The folks at this spot were very nice and laid back. The cookies are huge and fresh. Worth the return.

They are located in a basic strip mall so not much for ambience / character. The mint chocolate chip ice cream lacked depth of flavor but was still pretty good. What I really didn't like - the young girl that made my ice cream cone held the cone over the garbage can to add the chocolate sprinkles. And I mean almost in the garbage can. Hopefully it is a dedicated can for such work. If not... yikes. The cone was excellent.

We used to have a Handel's location closer to us, and we miss it greatly, so we make sure to stop anytime we are near one! Handel's is located in a strip mall-type area, in a corner unit. Specifically, it is located right off of 77 and W Catawba Avenue. There is plenty of parking for the complex, so that will not be an issue. The store has plenty of visible signage to point you in the right direction. Our visit was on a Thursday evening in July, a little after 8:00 PM. There were several groups enjoying ice cream, but there was not an overwhelming line. I believe we only had two or three people in front of us before we were able to order. The area outside of the store is not overwhelmingly large, but they have a roped-off area to show where the line should form to avoid it spilling into the dining areas. Some Handel's locations have an inside, but this location is completely outdoors. So, to place your order you simply walk up to the windows, and can then enjoy their patio seating or take your items to-go. When you approach the windows, you will see all of the signage, menu items, and flavors. The flavors were located on a sandwich board on the ground, which made it difficult to see if you were not directly in front of the windows. I could see this being a challenge if there was a long line, as one would not be able to see the flavor lists until right before ordering. We were waited on by a few of the staff members. Since it was not that busy when we ordered, they seemed to be splitting duties. My fiance ordered a Small Cake Cone of Key Lime Pie, and I got a 4 Scoop Sampler with Frosted Animal Cookie, Monkey Business, Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie, and Blue Moon. I thought the scoops on the 4 Scoop were somewhat small, but no complaints other than that. Additionally, we ordered a Dogster for our dog, and of course he loved it! Personally, the Frosted Animal Cookie was the only flavor I had not tried previously. It was alright...it is very sweet and truthfully did not remind me much of the cookie (besides the actual inclusions of animal cookies in the ice cream). It was made well, but just personally not for me. I have had all of the other flavors before, and they were all great. I love the uniqueness of Blue Moon, and also how refreshing Key Lime Pie always is. Since it was such a nice night, we enjoyed our ice cream on the patio. I love the lights they have strung up over the seating. There were probably around 5 to 6 tables, and a few benches around the perimeter of the patio. I am not sure how busy this location gets, but I could see there being a lack of seating during peak business times. However, we had no issue grabbing a table to sit at during this visit. I thought the prices were in line with what I would expect from a Handel's. Being that I am not from this area, it is hard to say if it is in line with other ice cream shops in the area. For all three of our items, it was around $15 with tax. My only complaint is that the Dogster was $3, which seems high. The staff were friendly and conversational. Since there was no line, I was talking with the one staff member about the Handel's that used to be near us, and enjoyed learning more about this particular location through our conversation. Overall, we enjoyed checking out a Handel's location we had never been to before. This is in a nice area, has plenty of parking, is clean, and has a nice atmosphere. My only critiques were the positioning for the flavors in relation to the line, pricing on some items, and the portion of the 4 Scoop Sampler. However, do not let that deter you from stopping here for a sweet treat if you are in the area!

Oooh... unfortunately it's really good…read more And I don't know if this is a "controversial" take or common knowledge but god this is so much better than Bruesters in every way. It would be crazy to compare the hard, thick-ass Bruester's chud to the classic smooth 'scream stylings of Carolina Cones. The crazy lighting inside, the train that goes around ceiling, all the 25 cent to $1 machines, and the swinging hook game outside. There's so much to love about this place. And sure, you can get a literal cherry on top, but the proverbial cherry on top are the classic tubes that play outside that make a summer night feel cinematic.

I also loved the different cone choices--they made getting ice cream feel a little more special. There are plenty of toppings if you order a sundae or cup, so it's easy to customize. The only downside was that they wouldn't put the dairy-free ice cream into a cone, even though it seemed like it could have easily been transferred since it was already pre packaged in a cup that they scooped. The dairy-free cookies & cream was also a little icy compared to the regular ice cream. Overall, it's a great family-friendly spot to cool off on a hot day. The quarter machines with toys and games, plus the small outdoor merry-go-round for little ones, make it an extra fun stop.
