We came to this location to pick up some gooey butter cake concretes this weekend. I've had it before, and have loved it from other locations. I didn't find it as good, melted so easily and toppings felt less. I've said it before at other locations, and I'll say it again - you don't see what they are charging you, and you don't get any kind of receipt. It's a deceptive practice as somehow I've been charged $48 for 4 medium concretes. Andy's is expensive, but it's at minimum $8 more than the advertised price with taxes. Was I charged for 5 and only given 4? Was additional fluff added? I'll never know, but I won't be going back to this location. read more

I have been living in the area for the last 8 months and could not wait for the warmer weather to return to experience the frozen custard. I finally was able to order a small frozen oreo concrete. Let me tell you, it was creamiest custard with a blend of oreo. The service was great from start to finish. The young man, explained the menu and how you can build your treats. The ambiance was one of a typical of an outdoor creamery. They offer a rewards program to get free treats. I will definitely be back soon. read more

We occasionally frequent Andy's when we're close to one. I really like their custard. We usually go for a Boot Daddy but we tried the seasonal flavor Gooey Butter Cake and it's had us in a chokehold! It reminds me of the cake from Del Frisco without spending about $200 before dessert. I hope this flavor continues to come back because it is phenomenal! My husband and I have been customers of this Andy's franchise, and we've noticed a decline in their service and their food. We just ordered a snow monster concrete with extra strawberries and it was like milk with a splash of custard. There were no strawberries that were visible to eat and we ordered even extra strawberries. This has been the third or the fourth time that I've ordered the same thing and it's not coming out like it used to. I think I'll find another place to go. read more

We love Andy's. However, this location is a bust. Went through the drive through at 10pm on a Thursday and was told "we're cash only right now." We then went through an atm across the parking lot and came back to be told "about that.... Our cash drawer is empty right now and we can't take card. Oh and we close in 45 min. Sorry." I have been to Andy's in Cornelius a few times now. They took off my favorite order, the s'mores jackhammer(sad face), when I pulled up to the order window and did not know what to order. A kid with blond curly hair, about 6ft tall. Recommended the Boot Daddy. It was so creamy and delicious. Only other Andy's Frozen Custard was near Concord Mills last summer and it was very good. Was pleased to find out they were opening in Cornelius but we moved to Denver NC which is about 8 miles away before the opened. I think they opened in either late October or early November. Finally got a chance to drop in the other day and they are very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful and a good variety of Frozen Custards. Tried the drive though today and unlike Chick--fil-A next door, they have this one knocked. Very quick and efficient and highly recommend. read more

I love Andys but today, I came tru the drive thru this Saturday at 12 pm and just never got served, I was trying to get there attention , and even called with no response. And this is not the first time this has happened to me. I honestly have no idea what these guy's problem is. I love Andy's but was very disappointed with this location. The kids running shop were chatting with the car in front despite having a large line. They were friendly upon ordering, but my order came back a little over 1/2 full. What should have been a quick and pleasant trip ended up taking longer than anticipated and the result was skimpy. Raspberry, I cannot believe the waste of opportunity at this joint. Great ice cream but no place to sit except for steel benches out in the hot sun. Did anyone ever consider umbrella tables outside? And they have always short on help. Today we went there and there was one poor girl working alone trying to run the drive-through and walk-up. Not doable. We left. Frankly, it isn't custard. Their "custard" reminds me more of ice cream. It doesn't have the thickness and flavor of famous custards like Rita's. It's more like cool whip, which isn't a bad thing, but just isn't custard. A little overly sweet also. The custard was good. Maybe not as good as Whit's but ok. They should have some shade outside so you can read the menu without sitting in the sun, but other than that is was fine. I had a concrete I asked for chocolate syrup and got hot fudge and heath bar. My daughter got a chocolate concrete and they came with vanilla custard. But they remade it so all was good there. They should put mistakes int the freezer so we don't see the water product. read more

Staff was super friendly! I'm so happy this location opened up right off of 77- great to pick up a custard on the way to Jetton Park one of our favorite local summer parks. Sooooo disappointed...again! I feel like I'm a victim of a "bait and switch". When they first opened this location they loaded the concretes with the mix-ins, but now...well just take a look at my pics! There is hardly any peanut butter cups or hot fudge mixed in. And come on--- the bottom is just plain vanilla custard!! This has happened to me twice before and I sent an email to an address listed on the website, but didn't hear anything back from anyone. I think their custard is smooth and yummy, but I'm not willing to keep paying over $5 for a regular size concrete withOUT adequate mix-ins. I stopped buying DQ Blizzards because of this issue and it seems like it's time to say bye bye to Andy's too. Andy's Frozen Custard? Incredible. The way the cookie dough bites just ~melts~ in your mouth is absolutely indescribable. I do have to say, the hot fudge is very thin and rich. Mcdonald's has better. I have been sneaking here every night behind my daughters back because she is obese and does not need it. We always drive by and she sees the huge ice cream machines in the windows and always asks me to try it. I simply tell her no because she will become addicted to the intense flavors that the oreo, cookie dough, hot fudge jackhammer delivers. Why 5 stars? Because it's custard. read more

Nothing has any flavor except bad chocolate sauce. The consistency of the custard is lovely but it is tasteless. The chocolate sauce is like bad Hershey's. My son got a sundae with butterscotch and it just tasted like sugar syrup. I'd go to Whit's in Davidson. All that being said the service was quick and the staff was very nice. read more

We've had real custard from several places in our travels. Originally from Michigan, we would make a day of it and drive up the coast of Lake Huron, just shy of Lexington, to Bunnies Frozen Custard. To date, several decades later, it's still our golden standard for having the best custard, ever. Whitts in Davidson holds second, easily. That said, we were excited to try the local newcomer, Tony's Frozen Custard on Catawba. After dropping over $12 for the two of us, we were quite offput seeing it get watery by the time we got back into the car. We had all we could do to try and eat it and stay ahead of it liquifying, with the AC running. So, rather than enjoying the pure creamy taste of the real thing, we should have traded our spoons in for straws. It would've made a tad more sense if we were sitting outside in the hot midday sun. We traded opinions on the flavor, or lack thereof, any true custard flavor and came to similar opinions that we felt like we were at a DQ, enjoying frozen ice milk. We did enjoy watching the machine inside churn out what appeared to be thick, ever so fattening custard. We just would've enjoyed tasting it. Oh well, not all is lost for Davidson isn't far away. At least closer than Bunnies. read more
