However, my casual contact with this place was incredibly positive. My kids left this party absolutely glowing with joy on their little faces. My folks had me in a few gymnastics camps when I was a little - I remember the stern coaches who wouldn't let me do any of the fun stuff until I had perfected a boring old forward roll. It's apparently a different situation at the Tumbleweeds facility; they seem to be good at promoting the joy of the sport, and one look at the website seems to show a quite storied history of their activities. There is a massive wall of trophies in the main gym. Anyway, the birthday party was basically a monitored free-play in their spacious gym. Kids were allowed free reign of the balance beams, the trampolines, and the bar apparatus, all accompanied by a great soundtrack of clean jock jams. A clear favorite was the foam pit, used for safety while learning aerial maneuvers on the high bars. The kids were happily jumping into this pit for the entire hour or so. The more adventurous ones would hop up on the high beams and point their toes, make little hops and things. We later moved to the spacious party room, which was clean and well setup. The gym is located in the Conley Rec Center in the College Park neighborhood of Atlanta. This is just west of the airport, so you can see and hear the landing approaches from the parking lot. The place is a jem, and I just might come back. If one of your kids is invited to a party here, make sure to attend; it's pretty awesome.

My husband is nervous about leaving our daughter snaps some photos and complains about the lack of supervision. I call the co-owner to complain as well. The head coach of the gym then sends me NOT my husband this text on my personal cell! He said his coaches were on break until 2 when class started. Break should end once children have entered the gym after being dropped off and are now under your supervision. Coaches should also be napping in another room and not on the gym floor. Next, I found out the coach took our 7 year old daughter off of the floor. Tells her to grab her stuff and sit on the bleachers. Then sends her to the front of the gym. We found her pacing alone at the front of the gym in tears!!! She said she had been there for a long time! You do not do this to a child! If you prefer to pay full price for classes that end early, have coaches that will send your young children out of the gym before parents arrive, or love to have your children around sleeping/texting/eating coaches then this gym is for you! If you even bother complaining to anyone other than the head coach who is never there (don't complain to the co-owner or anyone else), you will probably receive disgusting messages or even get yelled at by the HEAD COACH himself! Be mindful that if you do decide to pay for your commitment fees, uniform fees, etc. and the head coach has disrespected you as a loyal customer, then you will not get your money back! Think twice before you make an investment. I would not recommend this gym to ANYONE!

Everyone was welcoming and the atmosphere was so fun and comfortable for the kids. I really loved that the class wasn't just about keeping them entertained, the instructors were actually engaging with each child, encouraging them, and making sure everyone felt included. Jordan especially stood out to me during our visit! She was SO patient and sweet with the kids. I noticed that she really took her time with each child and never made anyone feel rushed if they weren't ready to participate right away. She was constantly encouraging them and celebrating the little things they accomplished throughout the class. My daughter felt really comfortable around her, which made the experience even better for me as a parent. You could tell she has built genuine relationships with a lot of the kids and their parents. Everyone I've seen has been welcoming, but Jordan definitely stood out to me the most. She has such a warm and positive personality and seems like someone who genuinely loves working with children. Located in a quiet plaza on a street with major Hallmark Vibes, the Little Gym is a dream for little ones. It was so colorful when we walked in, it hit oozed "fun"! We were taken into the gym area that was full of soft play toys to roll over, crawl over, anything you can imagine. In our group there were 4 babies, all older than my little one but the instructor made the exercises work of them. The babies rolled, they danced and even had bubble time! At the time of our visit, my baby was about 5-6months and working on his rolling so he was frustrated but the teacher was so patient and kind. The first visit didn't turn out to be his favorite activity YET lol but I'm so excited to return for more classes now that he's progressed. There are memberships available but the pop-in classes are just as good for those who don't want to commit just yet. Seriously worth a visit or five with your little ones!

I have some fond memories of gymnastics camp, you know, from my childhood. Being bookish and unathletic, none of it really stuck. But it sure was fun while it lasted. ITYK gathers up all of those preteen physical education memories into a neat box and serves it up as a nice, family-friendly package. Getting there is a little confusing though (check my pictures for the door). They occupy a spot in the Ralph McGill building that fronts the BeltLine, in a hidden corner suite that's not really visible from the parking lot. It's an intense parking lot, too - so on your first visit you'll just have to take the location on faith after you pay for your parking. Anyway, once you're in there, the space is really something. There's colorful gym equipment everywhere and friendy staff leading your class. The website describes a number of scheduled classes, including yoga for tots and some parent-friendly things, too. There are camps and some occasional drop-off events. So, this kid's party - there were maybe 20 four year olds there, and the time was structured like a semi-open free play. There were some prescribed group activities (giant-a** parachute anyone?), and some nice freer time where the staff was circulating around to ensure safety. The kids seemed thrilled to do all of the things. Good wholesome fun, you know? I think places like this are a great resource, especially when they are sensitive to the needs of parents. Sometimes the munchkins just need to burn off some energy, you know?

A text message is received from a friend inviting us for "open play" at Intown Tumbling. I don't know what it is but anything is better than my current options. New diaper, some shoes and we are out the door. I pull in through the New Realm parking lot and find parking by driving to the end keeping New Realm on the right side of my car. Intown Tumbling is located at the end of the lot. If you walk up to the deck that is the entrance to telephone factory lofts the entrance to Intown is on your left. Now I find out what i have gotten myself and daughter into. Walking in I get excited with the assortment of things to climb, crawl, and jump on. A trampoline placed on one side of a foam wall with a pit of foam to land in looks especially fun. Unfortunately there will be no dive rolls for me, this is O time. I remind myself of my fatherly duties and take off O's shoes so she does not break the "no shoes on the blue mat" rule. Before her sock comes off she reacts to an imaginary race who's gun just went off in her head and sprints to what looks like an American Ninja course for a two year old. This level of activity is maintained for the next two hrs. Only short breaks when she come to sit by me demands water and a bite of her AB&J sandwich. $10 for 2 hrs, 3pm-5pm, of open play time here was well worth it. The bedtime after affect was priceless. She went to bed early and slept late. Hopefully this was not some training session that will create the ultra marathon runner of toddlers.

When you walk past the front desk you go down a long hallway and it looks like they have several fitness rooms and a gymnasium (there were people playing basketball in there when we walked past). The Zumba class we took was with instructor Tash. She literally screamed at us and all the students / participants throughout the class, and came within 2 feet of me to scream (and I mean triple SCREAM) at me to get my legs up. This was inappropriate and made me extremely uncomfortable. Tash asked when I entered the room if this was my first Zumba class. Despite me telling her yes, there was no instruction nor a speed a first timer could even begin to keep up with. Not sure why the question was asked in the first place. The gym overall looked clean enough, and spacious. There were at least 15 people in this particular class on a Saturday, and there was plenty of room for all of us (if any more had joined, it would have felt crowded).

Motivation was lacking. Parents did not need to be in the class but in order to get the most of it we and other folks joined in as the coaches weren't attentive and appeared uninterested. We noticed some of the other coaches teaching the older kids were also lacking the excitement we feel a gymnastics coach should have (something akin to a cheerleading coach, full of energy and smiles.)

We were told that the first one was a trial and we had so much fun with the coach, I can't remember his name but he's awesome. The facility is nice and we had a good time so we said we would come back for the second one and officially sign up. Basically they said that for one month it would be $157 and we would need to sign something and I said okay, that was it. We showed up for 3 of the 4 following weeks and then around Thanksgiving we got super busy and we weren't able to make it for a couple of weeks. I'm thinking, damn well we paid for one class that we didn't go to that sucks but it's not the end of the world. We'll just start back in January when we have more time and start going all 4 weeks every month, no big deal. Fast foward to this week, I check my account as I'm out shopping for the holidays and there's another charge from Amplitude for $157. I call them immediately and get no answer, so I leave a message saying that nobody ever expressed to me that I had signed up for some kind of monthly subscription, I was just told it would be $157 for the month and asked if I could please be refunded. It was before open hours so I figured they'd call me back that night and then I'd explain there was a misunderstanding and no big deal we'd get refunded for December and start back in January. Nobody calls me back so I call the next day, and then the next 3 days after that. Calling and leaving a message every single time. One time a lady answered but told me that she wasn't involved with the office department but she'd have the office person call me right back. So a full WEEK goes by and I finally just got a call this morning at 10:30 AM from Amplitude and I'm thinking finally, someone is going to talk to me about this. Tell me why the first thing I hear from this woman on the phone is that I need to grow up and act like an adult who can read. That I signed a binding legal contract to be charged monthly for a gymnastics class and that in that contract it states that there is a 30-day notice if I want to drop the class or else they have the right to keep charging me until the end of time $157 monthly. NOBODY TOLD ME ANY OF THIS IN TO MY FACE ONE TIME. I understand that it might be in the contract but I am a customer and I trusted the business to give me the full information about the situation and AT AMPLITUDE THEY DO NOT CARE IF YOU UNDERSTAND THEIR SYSTEM. The woman that signed me up for the class literally told me "It will be $157 for the full month for both you and your wife, you can sign here and swipe/tap your card." Literally told me nothing else, not that it was a reoccurring payment, not that I needed to let them know BY EMAIL 30 days in advance if I ever plan to stop coming, nothing. I absolutely do not appreciate a local institution doing business this way. This is the kind of thing you would expect from over the phone scam callers and big business corporations trying to trick you into signing up for subscriptions. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the gymnastics class itself or the coaches, but I will not be coming back simply because of the way that this place runs it business and the way that I was treated by the employee on the phone. I have never been told to grow up and act like an adult, or asked if I can read by employee after a WEEK of me trying to get in touch with the business and sort it out. It's absolutely ridiculous and I hope that all of you make sure you read every word of every thing they make you sign here because I PROMISE they're not going to tell you everything you need to know. Absolutely piss poor business and terrible customer service, so rude and so unprofessional. Completely night and day from the respect and intelligence shown by the coaches. I feel bad that the coaches are being represented as a business in such a shotty, unprofessional, and shady way.
