The West Seattle location had availability and confirmed my reservation. On the day of the reservation, when I was getting ready for dropping off my daughter, I got a call from the West Seattle location and they told me that they have no space for my daughter even though they had given me a confirmation earlier. This is not an isolated incident. The same thing happened to me 2 days later. And I had to run around at the last minute to find a daycare option for my daughter. The people working at Bright Horizons West Seattle don't even have the basic decency to give you a heads up 1 or 2 days earlier to let you know that they don't have space for you! I would recommend everyone to stay away from this location due to terribly incompetent management here.

While always being thoughtful and conscientious of health and safety for the kids, themselves, and the community at large; the teachers always pushed themselves to find a way to keep the kids learning and feeling secure throughout 2020 and 2021. The educational objectives were routinely surpassed. Helping the kids develop the tools necessary to be positive contributors to society was a staple of the education. Learning Garden was a real sanctuary for our family during a challenging period. We feel thankful to be a part of this community.

The school kept him safe and healthy (they only had 2-3 covid cases, never in his class) and also provided an enriching, fun environment. Once he started the pre-K section he was stimulated, learned all his letters, and began learning numbers. The class worked together on packets, while continuing fun and enriching activities on the side. He left very prepared for Kindergarten and had no issues transitioning due to their solid preparation. During his time there my son made great friends who he has continued with into kindergarten. When issues arose (as they do over a nearly 5 year period) we were able to resolve them quickly through meetings with teachers and staff. We always felt listened to and felt that issues were taken seriously and acted upon. I would highly recommend this Goddard to anyone looking based on our extended experience there.

My now 5-year old is graduating to kindergarten but his little sister has been here since she turned 2.5. Teachers Kerry and Andrew run a compassionate preschool with lots of exploration play, unstructured time outside, weekly themes, art, healthy food, and so much emotional intelligence education. The school is small (one mixed-age class), which means the big kids learn to care for the little kids. My kids are delightful, polite, and caring humans and I credit this school with almost all of that influence. If you're reading the reviews (which are old), know they are no longer drop-in, and masks are only worn after a community exposure event, though they were previously worn 100% of the time for almost 2 years of covid.

We had been on the waiting list for another daycare for over two years already, and when our second arrived three weeks early, we decided to give it a try. At the time, our son was acting out and very jealous of his new sister. His enrollment at OTS has really helped his transition from only child to big brother. While it's always difficult sending a child to school for the first time, I couldn't imagine a more nurturing environment for him. Teacher Kerry and Teacher Andrew are absolutely wonderful with the kids. I love their focus on emotional intelligence because it was what my son needed at the time--and truly what any child this age needs. I also noticed that his manners have improved tremendously since he started attending their school. Although we had been working consistently with him on manners, he would often need reminders. After a few months at OTS, everything finally clicked, and he even asks to be excused from the dinner table. Aside from good manners, his imagination has really taken off and he engages more in pretend play. Prior to his time at OTS, he was very needy and always asked one of us to play with him. Now he exhibits more independence and takes the lead in pretend play. I believe the small, intimate, home environment of OTS has really enabled him to thrive. It's like his home away from home, and I know he thinks of Teacher Andrew, Teacher Kerry and the other kids like family. I'd highly recommend OTS to any parent, but particularly to those whose kids are leaving home for the first time. What a wonderful find.

Giddens School centers the experience on our children- everything they need to learn, explore, and…read moregrow. It is so special to be part of this community. We have been part of the school for three years. Our daughter has grown so much from her time here. Academically, she is challenged by her teachers to think critically (even in kindergarten). The other day she asked if we wanted to make up math story problems at the dinner table, because Giddens encourages students to bring fun, creativity, and exploration into how they learn hard skills. Social and emotional learning is also a major focus for the school. Last week there was a talent show for the k-4th graders, and the amount of love, respect, and excitement the entire school showed to these brave and talented performers was incredibly moving. Giddens works hard to education future leaders, and it shows.
