Now that I am on my 3rd child, I keep coming back to The Pump Station. Each time I've gone there,…read moreI've had a great experience. The staff is friendly and attentive. Not only does the staff help with my indecisions, but they are also knowledgeable about all-things car seats, pumping, breastfeeding and more! It feels like a full-service experience and I am so glad they offer so many services and support in my city; I don't ever have to go elsewhere. Easy parking in the street or in their lot in the back. Convenient hours. Location cannot be beat!

Really disappointed in my experience today. I drove two hours to this location to support a local…read morebusiness. For one, I was not greeted or asked if I needed help when entering the store. More importantly, their website said the stroller I wanted was in stock and available in 4 hours for pickup, but when I got there it wasn't available for purchase and it had to be ordered. When I brought it up to the cashier, he said it was because they have it in store their inventory but not at the store? Huh?? After doing more digging I saw there was a "Terms and conditions" asterisk in fine print you have to click on to find out this information. All I saw was the green check mark that says "In stock and ready for pick up in 4 hours." Any other place I have ever been to- this would mean it would be in stock at the store. When I brought up, calmly, that this was confusing and they should fix it because I drove two hours to get to the store. The cashier said nothing. Not a "Aw geez, I'm sorry. I can understand your frustration and why that's confusing." I'm a reasonable person. I've worked in customer service all my life. The demeanor of the cashier alone has put me off from ever visiting this store again or recommending it. We went to Uppababy a few blocks down and they were SOOO kind that it completely made my day. All I needed was some kindness. To the owners of the Pump Station- the people using your website are most likely VERY tired moms. I personally am getting 3-4 hours of sleep a day. Tired moms need clear signage if something is in stock or not. Time is precious in this season of life. We also need KINDNESS. My body is broken and recovering from giving birth. I am exhausted! I would expect a place who sells baby items to understand this. Overall, would never recommend this place and will tell everyone I know that it was an awful experience.

I've had two kids graduate from her toddler program over the last few years and I can't wait to enroll my third child when the time comes. ECDA is a wonderful preschool prep program and support group for parents and care givers alike. While the children learned and played in one room, the parents stayed close by to participate in group discussions each week. It was a great way to check in and have the opportunity to ask questions and talk about what worked and wasn't working for everyone. It really helped me navigate parenthood and all the challenging times that arise during those first few crucial years of parenting and raising children. The class notes that get emailed to everyone ahead of each class have been so fabulous to use as a reference point on numerous occasions. I don't know what I would have done without Marilee and all of her wisdom. My children still talk about her and her classes and especially love to look back at photos and videos of their time spent there. The support, knowledge and friendships formed by attending these classes have been simply priceless!

Every week, there's also a new parenting topic that caregivers discuss in a circle as the children do their activities in a different room, supervised by fun and caring teachers. I can honestly say that reading the handouts every week, learning from my nanny about her takeaways, and occasionally dropping in on the classes has made me a better parent this past year. I am more compassionate and empathetic to my child, I have better social and psychological tools to create consistent boundaries, and I know that I have somewhere to turn whenever the latest crazy stage of toddlerhood hits our household (tantrums, potty training, picky eating, poor sleep, aggression). I never felt judged or lectured. I always felt supported and uplifted. And on a personal note, Marilee was able to identify mild sensory issues (sight, touch and hearing) in my toddler. Marilee taught her (and us!) simple coping skills to avoid becoming overwhelmed by her fears and emotions. Without these insights, there's no doubt that I would be treating these sensory issues as "disobedience" and trying to punish her for them, which is frustrating and hurtful for the kid and ultimately counter-productive for the family. I wish every parent had access to a group like ECDA.

Writing Pad has sparked such joy in my life, and I'm so glad that I found it via a random google…read moresearch. I'd been looking for a writing class, and was inclined to do a continuing ed class at a university. But I was sold on Writing Pad because they show you where their students get published and that their method works. I've loved my teachers Brett and Erika. The only negative is that the classes are so good, that I keep taking more and more. Kudos to Marilyn for an awesome business!

Writing Pad is one of the best kept secrets in LA. I canNOT recommend it highly enough. It has (no…read moreexaggeration!!) changed my life. I'd been struggling to get my ideas from brain to draft, had such a hard time structuring my time so I'd get things done, felt like writing without feedback was setting me back. Writing Pad solved ALL of those problems and then some. The instructors are *incredible* -- I've taken two classes with Jack Kukoda and Todd Waldman, and my scripts are eons beyond what I would have been able to accomplish alone. They are fantastic writers who have written MANY of my favorite shows (Superstore, Community, Happy Endings!!!) and I get to take a small, personalized class with them??? Sometimes people can Do but not Teach-- it is clear Writing Pad seeks instructors who excel at both. The classes are run like writers' rooms, everyone giving feedback in a constructive and serious but absolutely not intimidating way. I've also made a ton of friends from my classes and met people I'm collaborating with!! ALSO IT IS WILDLY AFFORDABLE FOR THE VALUE. BEYOND WORTH IT. I could go on forever but I won't because I sound like I'm trying to get you guys to join my cult or something (I'm just really enthusiastic and grateful, okay??), So I'll end with this: look up writing pad classes, find a teacher and course that interest you. SIGN UP. You will not regret it. 100000 stars!!!
