The People's DJ was a preferred vendor of our wedding venue - the Villa del Sol in Fullerton, so we decided to look into them! We set up a meeting with them, and met Drew, who was super easy to talk to, chill, honest, and confident. He sent us a link that was very easy to use where we were able to make payments, set up our song requests, schedule, and wedding party information (as he was also the emcee), and he accommodated all of our requests. On the day of, he was on top of everything, the timing of our music choices, and reception was perfect. During the open-dance portion, his mix of music was such a great variety that we received so many compliments. He kept people dancing all night, and I even saw guests dancing who normally do not! DJ Drew was BEYOND Phenomenal!!! We first saw him at a club and got his info. We setup a lunch meeting, where he provided us with suggested format/timeline for our wedding. We went over everything and he asked us lots of questions to figure out our style and what we wanted. He sent us this updated timeline 2 mos before our wedding, and also his site info where we could pick and choose songs we liked or didn't, and update the timeline of we changed our minds. The day of he showed up early, dressed nice and brought EVERYTHING! He was outstanding! Because we didn't have a planner, he also acted as our MC and helped move along our event (speeches, dinner, group photos, etc) he was incredibly polite and professional and fun! For the party/dance portion he brought up lighting (set to purple as that was my fave color! And changed to multi during fun time!), and fun glow foam stick things everyone loved! He amped up our party and got everyone dancing literally until the very last song! I'm pretty sure everyone (especially myself!) was so sad the time was up at our venue :( Our special day would not have been as amazing as it was without him. He is level EXPERT! Music was a very important part of our wedding. That's why we chose Drew to be our DJ. From the beginning he was very professional with lots of questions and suggestions. He met with us a few weeks before to make sure we had a good plan of action. One of his suggestions was the hit of the party. We asked our guests to dance for their dinner. Each table had a special song, for example, Madonna's vogue or surfing safari or safety dance. It was a wonderful opportunity to put the spot light on them. Drew is FANTASTIC! He was the DJ for my wedding just over a month ago and I couldn't be happier with having him MC. He was fun and easy to work with and really helped make our wedding day amazing! We had met with him a few weeks prior to the wedding to touch base about everything and to go over the wedding day time line. It was great because since he has been doing weddings for so long he had some really good insight and feedback about the wedding day timeline our planner had given us. Often planners are seeing it from a timeline viewpoint whereas he pointed out that for the guests its a PARTY! So he said its important to keep that it mind for guests so that the celebration stays lighthearted and doesn't drag (doing 4 speeches in a row is REAL boring!). During the wedding things ran a little behind schedule during dinner so he checked in with us about what we wanted to do. We weren't sure since we had planned to do the Shoe Game but really we just wanted to get to the dancing (as did everyone else I'm sure!). He was really helpful with feedback and was so flexible and receptive to whatever we wanted! We decided to cut out the game as well as the bouquet/garter toss so we could go boogie. He helped us communicate that to the coordinator and photographer which we really appreciated and then facilitated that transition without skipping a beat. And of course he did such a great job with all the music! My husband had given him a pretty in depth list of stuff we liked and thought would be good for our wedding style and for each part of the night. Drew executed it all so perfectly! He also really set the festive mood with the lights and the glowing foam sticks for the dancing! Everything was so fun and Drew was really on top of keeping the party vibe going the whole time. I don't write these reviews too often, but I must do this for The People's DJ because this company is phenomenal. Every year, my friend throws her annual party where everyone wears "all white." She lives in a beautiful home in Laguna Beach and we always love her soirées.... But I've gotta say, every year I am so amazed at this party and how it just gets more and more fun, thanks to The People's DJ! Right when we walked in this year we noticed the beautiful changing lights that were displayed all around the backyard and pool area. Then lights made the pool area come to life, and the mermaid in the pool was even doing flips and kicks that matched the motion of the lights and sound. It was magical. The DJ's music was captivating... my girlfriends all like to dance but now that we are in our mid-thirties it takes a little motivation to keep us dancing. DJ Drew played EVERYTHING you can imagine, but in such an effortless and natural way. It was like he had known us for years the way he was able to know exactly what to play next. Let's just say our feet are still sore from all that dancing! I couldn't believe that he was able to find songs that matched the diverse crowd this year (it was definitely a crowd ranging from 20-60 year old's) but somehow he had every person on their feet for hours. The People's DJ also made the the Hostess feel so special by giving her appropriate "shout outs," but he also was very professional by knowing what to say and when. I noticed a few people make "silly" requests and he used appropriate discretion so as to keep the party going and lead the party along according to Hostess' desires. While we waited in line briefly for the open bar, we enjoyed the video's that he played along to the music- they were funny and unique clips that matched the beats of the music-very entertaining. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Their years of experience and their passion for music and entertainment are evident every year at Brenda's White Party. Drew was recommended by a mutual friend and I trusted her advice completely. I ended up calling him and saying that she referred him to me, and put down a deposit straight away. He was amazing and organized. We filled out the form online as to what specific music we wanted, and then the rest were guidelines. Instead of putting together a play list, I just put together a list on Spotify of the kind of music both my fiancé and I liked, and asked him to just play music that coincided with our taste. Our dance party started at 6:30pm and went on until midnight. Everyone was on the dance floor because of the amazing music. It was more than I hoped for.
