Recently started shooting film again, and gave my first roll of b&w to Armando to develop. I was really pleased with the turn- around time and the results! Went to several other frame stores throughout the sgv. Strangely a lot of places did not want to do this or gave me outrageous pricing. I was referred here by my brother and so I decided to give them a visit. Right away the store owner was excited to work on this and saw it as a fun project. I gave him an idea of color and style I wanted and he took care of everything. Even provided me with mounting hardware and instructions to hang this beauty. I am beyond impressed. I was looking for a framing shop to re-frame my wife's diploma John's Hopkins University and came across The Perfect Exposure Gallery. I took it there without any knowledge of their work. When I stepped into the gallery I saw dozens of works that are quite beautiful hanging on the walls. I was very impressed. I met Armando and found him quite friendly and accommodating so I let him do the job. The work he did with the diploma was great. It is matted perfectly and looks amazing. This is a great place to get custom framing and printing done. I have had four pieces of art framed here, and they have always done an excellent job. The owner Armando has an extensive background in photography, and he has very good taste in helping you choose the best type of frame, matting and color scheme for your frame. I was also a featured photographer in one of their gallery shows, and they did all the framing for the show. Everyone was very happy with the quality of printing as well. So you could come to them with just a JPEG and they can print and then frame your image with no problem. I have not utilized this service, but they also develop film here as well. These guys are AMAZING. I had prints that ranged from a vintage tapestry, prints brought from the Tate Modern, and pictures of my family. It blew me away that they took care of everything at a great price. Custom framing for weird sizes, all professionally done. The framing looks like it could be hung in a museum! I was explained that a type of special plexiglass was used to protect against UV, had no idea my pieces needed that but now I need it for everything. I've definitely found a frame store for life. This place is awesome! Pretty much everything you need if you still shoot BW film. I had 10 rolls of 35mm film developed in only one day. The owner, Armando, then assisted me with editing. He also offers negative scanning, printing and framing. Not only does he exhibit beautifully printed photojournalism and documentary photography but twice that I have gone professional photographers were hanging out there. Came out to see John Simmons, ASC's "Life in Black and White" gallery showing. Space is limited but I think it helps you breathe in the collection as you continue through the exhibition. Building itself seems very random. There's another gallery attached to the building and a "play house"? There was a rehearsal happening while we were walking through. It was loud... Oh Korea Town, your random juxtapositions always put a smile on my face. Parking in the lot was weird but sorted itself out. Go check it out. Get some culture. read more

Located at 2424 W Valley Blvd. in Alhambra northeast of the 10 and 710 freeway junctions. It is one of the closest galleries to north Orange county. Only 30 minutes away from Disneyland according to google maps. The gallery is a little hard to spot since it is at a small local but don't let the size fool you. I visited the gallery on Monday April 1st (April fool's day) at 4:00pm. During this time Armando had the "Viva Mexico!" exhibit (march 23rd - April 20th) by Roy Dybuncio, Gary Kramer, Keith Skelton, E.K. Waller And Armando himself. The exhibit features photographs taken during Armando's November photography workshop. A photo retreat in Mexico where photographers pay to go to Mexico with Armando and partake in his photography workshop. Learning lighting, exposure, framing and anything else that spews from his knowledge filled head. Last November's group had toured Mexican cities of Taxco, Tlaxcala, Teotihuacan, and Mexico City. Featuring images of street, and cultural locations all around and even some infer red photos. The best images taken on this trip are then selected to be displayed in the gallery. They do all their printing and framing in house, and a traditional darkroom is on the way, so they will be doing film processing and silver gelatin black and white prints as well. Having your image displayed in the gallery has its perks, you get exposure to anyone that visits the gallery and all images are posted for sale. The artists receive a portion and so does the gallery. Prints in this exhibit ranged from $500 to $1200. The gallery is a good room to display art and photographs seem to hang in an atmosphere that invites the viewer to continue viewing till the end. There is a relaxed feeling that you can stay as long as you want and strike a conversation with the people around. The space is relatively small for what I would generally expect but Armando does a fantastic job of making it work and making it feel cozy I was fortunate to talk to him in Spanish and talk about his photo workshops. I am nearly sold on the idea once I have the funds. A typical trip (all inclusive) to get mentored while shooting costs about $2200 per person for a week. I would recommend any photographer shoot outside your own country to hone your craft. I had a great time and felt at home. I will definitely come back. If I need any future work framed, I will take it to Armando. This place is a sleeper! I guarantee that it will become an important part of the Los Angeles art scene. Go check it out. I'm not sure how to review this place. This place is in some random building in Korea Town. They seem to represent and showcase a certain photographer. When I went, it was Charlie Lieberman. I liked the layout of the gallery. It was just one big room with photos that Charlie Lieberman took. Charlie Lieberman took all his photos with his Leica M9. So you know he's a real pro since he uses a M9. I liked his photos. But to buy a print, you have to pay around $600-$1500. Wow, I wish I can sell my photos like that. Maybe that's why he can afford a M9 since his prints are so expensive. The people who worked there was nice. I like what they're doing to promote some modern photojournalists. read more
