The Women's Refuge was founded in 1997 by Donna Lee Robart and husband Ted for people who are experiencing emotional, mental, and spiritual problems. Proceeds from this thrift store go to supporting programs at the Women's Refuge which includes a Christian residential program for women, support groups, and a biblical counseling center for men, women, and families. The Women's Refuge Resale Shop sells a wide range of clothing, accessories, household items, furniture, art, home decor, and more. Everything was neatly organized and clearly marked with a price. Interestingly the prices were compared with what similar items are selling for Poshmark and Chairish. First time I have seen that. On the day I visited they were having a lot of additional sales including 60 percent off dresses and pants. For even more thrifting fun, the Tambourine Resale Store is next door and there is another Women's Refuge store across the parking lot selling furniture and antiques. The Women's Refuge does a lot of good in the community so you can feel good about volunteering, shopping, and donating here.

The parking lot was relatively empty since the outlet had just opened, so it was nice being able to browse without feeling rushed or crowded. I stopped in several stores looking for stockings and ended up finding a pair of heels that I was really happy with. The customer service representatives I encountered were all incredibly nice. A few of them spent quite a bit of time trying to upsell me, but I never felt like it was aggressive or uncomfortable. I was still able to shop in relative peace, and a couple of the employees were especially helpful when I needed assistance finding some of the more obscure items. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. It was an easy and relaxing stop on the way home, and I'm glad we decided to swing by.

Browsed two furniture stores at the east end with zero customers. The vast selection of the big commercial stores was excellent. When it was built it was at the intersection of then Osceola Blvd. and Seminole Ave. In 1914 it was Farmer's Bank but the bank failed in the Great Depression. It then became the Indian River Citrus Bank. In 1983, the buildings were sold to The Vero Furniture Mart. In 2020 the building was sold once again and it is now Vintage Vero, a consignment store/ antique mall with 18 different dealers. There are multiple rooms of furniture, art, collectibles, ceramics, home goods. There is even a room with clothing and jewelry. My favorites were a chrome raindrop mirror, alligator magnifying glass, and mid century patio set. Prices arranged from under a hundred to many thousands of dollars. There is a lot to look at and the owners sweetly let me take my time.

Linda greeted me as I walked in the door. She showed me the bracelets that I was looking for. They come in Gold, with it without diamonds and Silver with gold accents. They come in various weight and size. I was thrilled to go home with a bracelet and found that they also gave matching earrings and pendants. I got a pendant also. The store was totally empty when I arrived mid-day, but most of the other stores were quiet too I didn't buy anything, but I really liked the sports themed purses and accessories. They had some really cute New York Yankees items. I see that they also carry Longchamp style bags, which is nylon style tote. Some of the items here looked kind of dated, the multi-colored items were very circa 2002. I spotted one table with clearance of up to 70% off as well.
