The Barn at High Point Farms - indoor Reception

The Barn at High Point Farms

    (7 reviews)

Having our wedding at The Barn at Highpoint Farms was probably one of the best decisions we made…read more First off, I love that it is a family run business with generations of experience. They take pride in their venue and the personalized, thoughtful, and unique setting they provide. Margie has been planning weddings for years and her experience was incredibly helpful for us during the planning process as she asked questions and gave suggestions on things I never would have thought of without her! The Barn at Highpoint Farms offers SO much- first, they are a flower farm as well as a wedding venue. This means that we were able to use fresh cut flowers for our bouquets, table settings, ceremony décor, and got to take pictures in flower gardens that had the same flowers used for our wedding in them. The flowers were stunning, smelled and looked fresh, adding to the ambiance. The arrangements were well thought out and better than I could have imagined. Second, they offer some housing on site! Along with the ceremony space and the barn for the reception, there are two houses and a couple's tree house on site that you can rent for additional spaces to stay. We did a premium package where both houses and the tree house were included in our weekend. GREAT DECISION! This meant that we, plus our wedding party, had somewhere to stay Friday AND Saturday night that was right on site. Everyone commented on how much they loved that they didn't have to commute back and forth from a hotel, and that they got to enjoy the peaceful scenery of the farm all weekend. Plus no one was late or had any mishaps. We loved the venue so much that we had our rehearsal dinner there Friday night plus the wedding ceremony and reception there Saturday. It was so convenient and really reduced stress having everything in one place for the entire weekend. Finally, there is so much to do and see on the farm! It feels like a magical place, and they have done an excellent job of preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the farm. Everywhere you look there is a perfect photo opportunity, from flower gardens to old pickup trucks, to green houses and rustic barn doors. The venue has so much natural character and charm you really don't have to overdress it with décor and fluff which was a cost saver in the end. There are even horses, goats, cats, and dogs you can take pictures with offering unique photo opportunities. The two guest houses are comfy and stunningly decorated, Margie and family really have a great designer's eye, making them beautiful settings for getting ready photos as well as comfy places to stay all weekend. I could go on and on about The Barn at Highpoint Farms, but it'd be a book. Go tour the venue, you won't regret it. I highly recommend, it was the best decision we made in wedding planning.

Very accommodating! The view is stunning but Jill's ability with flowers and greenery was over the top! Everything she created (bouquets, table decor) was so very pretty. The arbor she decorated at the front of the aisle took my breath away and made a beautiful background for the pictures. Our guests loved the baby goats and the bonfire/corn hole area. It just added to the fun and enjoyment. I highly recommend this venue to anyone!l

She is kind, understanding, quick to respond, and skilled at her job. Planning: Angie helped us save money and stick to our budget by helping us find high-quality vendors that fit the size and shape of our wedding. She is responsive and patient when handling the many logistics of hiring vendors- and so well-established that we were able to get discounts through her relationships with those vendors! Whenever we told other wedding workers that we were working with Angie, you could tell they were relieved, because they knew Angie would have it all taken care of! We got to focus on the fun stuff, because we knew Angie had our backs- this is exactly the planning experience we were looking for. Flexibility: We changed our mind on vendors, added on services for rehearsal dinner planning, and through it all Angie was so supportive in our decisions. She really listened and offered her expert opinion when she felt it was necessary. Rehearsal dinner: Especially for wrangling our families into doing the actual rehearsing, Angie did an amazing job! She thought of so many logistics for the ceremony that we didn't have to worry about because she was there. Day of Ceremony and Reception: Everything went so smoothly because of her work! She received all the deliveries (flowers, catering, cake, decorations, rentals, photobooth, DJ equipment) and helped problem solve any issues, while I relaxed in the bridal suite! Worth every penny and was a joy to work with. Cannot recommend more highly.

She knows a lot of vendors in the area, and was able to get us deals that we could not get on our own. She did all of the research and presented us with 2-3 options for each vendor that fit both our preferences and budget, so all of the stress was taken out of wedding planning. She also helps create a budget at the very beginning and helps you stick to that budget. She also creates very detailed timelines and makes sure the day of goes very smoothly. My wedding day was very calm/ stress free which is all because of her. I was engaged for two years (during Covid) and she replanned the wedding once and completely downsized it another time. Angie handled the entire thing - she basically planned 3 weddings for us. She really is so incredible - I cannot recommend her enough. My wedding day was absolutely perfect and it's all because of her

She broke down the planning process into bite-sized, manageable goals, and guided us through every decision with so much patience and care. Her connections are unmatched--every vendor we worked with lit up when we mentioned Erica's name. She brings both prestige and professionalism, along with a calm yet firm personality that makes you feel instantly at ease. No detail was overlooked, and everything ran so smoothly that if there were any hiccups behind the scenes, we never knew about them. We are endlessly grateful for Erica. Not only do they make you…read morefeel like family member from the get go (that's how personal their thoughtfulness and care is), they have a unique ability to know exactly what you need without you even realizing it. There were a million things that happened on our wedding day that seemed like magic - we didn't have to stress over one single thing and were able to enjoy our time with family and friends completely, which is so rare for a wedding. (As an example, one of the bridesmaids had a dress malfunction, which was magically handled by the team without us knowing anything about it). Jacin also had an extremely useful amount of experience in her business, so that she was able to access resources that fit both our vision and budget perfectly, without feeling like we needed to compromise on any aspect of our special day. We had less time to plan everything, about 3-4 months total, but that didn't faze Jacin. We never felt rushed through decisions or anxious about having too little time. True professionals. We highly recommend Jacin and her team, and feel so blessed to have had them with us on the most important day of our lives.

It's hard to put in to words how truly amazing Jacin Fitzgerald is. I knew after the first time…read moretalking to her that there was something different about her. She has such a calming presence and was the only planner who really wanted to know what I wanted for my day. It caught me off guard that she wasn't just selling me on her services the whole time like most planners but she genuinely listened. Jacin's ability to empathize and visualize exactly what I was dreaming of was truly a gift. She is not just a planner; she is a talented designer and I can't even go in to the countless personal touches she thought of that perfectly reflected us, as well as our family and friends. Everything was running perfectly and our dream was about to become a reality and then COVID hit. The shutdowns started two weeks before our big day so we obviously had to cancel our wedding. In typical Jacin fashion, she never missed a beat. By the following day, she managed to rebook every vendor and our same venue only four months after our initial date. An impossible feat for a venue that is booked a year in advance! Even up until the last couple of weeks we weren't sure our wedding could be held because COVID cases were going up again. We agonized over it but Jacin continually reassured us and never made us feel bad for having the wedding, even though I'm sure she was uneasy too. It's not easy to understand the turmoil until you have been there, but we could not have gotten through it without Jacin. She thought of so many clever ideas for a COVID-friendly wedding such as colored wrist bands to distinguish guest's comfort level, monogrammed face masks, sanitizing the entire ballroom, etc. and was so patient in answering our guests emails and safety related questions. Jacin made me feel so calm on my wedding day and I never had to worry about a single thing. It was truly the most relaxing, enjoyable, amazing fairytale weekend and our guests felt so loved and taken care of. Also, her team is amazing!! They are all industry pros; most are planners themselves, so no detail was missed. Under the circumstances it was such a perfect escape from the world and we will always be so very grateful to Jacin and her team for really going way above and beyond to make our wedding weekend so perfect. BOOK JACIN! You will not regret it!!!

Following our wedding, it took almost 2 months to get our photos on CD. We did get 422 pictures, many of which were very nice(thus the 2-star rating), but several of them were not very good - lots of red eyes, people looking off in different directions, random non-staged photos, etc. Ok, so part of the package includes a 30-page wedding photo book, which my husband and I were told to select photos for. Well, after another 2 months, the book was finally delivered. The photos were NOT put into the book - they were included separately. And to top it all off, they clearly took a random assortment of photos and blew them up, completely ignoring the photos I had requested for the book. Now, I have been trying for 3 weeks to get a response from them , as I want the book re-done with the photos I actually requested. They have ignored my calls and emails. For $2000, I expected a MUCH better experience and MUCH better photos. Please do not use Lovebridge if you do not want to be disappointed. The Stratton Hall Venue has all of that. It's not much to look at outside, but stay focused until you get on inside. There is a single large space with a nice looking laminate floor and blacked out ceiling. The lighting is ample and not glaring at you from above like some predator in flight. Very clean, well organized facility. There were 4 large restrooms for guests. Lots of nice tables and chairs with linens available. The owner wasn't around much, but seemed nice and accommodating when he was. The Cons: The venue manager seemed grumpy, never smiled, and was quick to say no to every request. She just seemed unhappy to be there. When asked if the flower girl could throw bird seed, she wouldn't allow it because "the next wedding party wouldn't appreciate having bird seed on the ground for their wedding." There were flower petals on the ground from a previous event that we didn't request, but no one considered that for our wedding. She must have been required to stay there the whole time, much of which was spent on her phone. There were a couple of times we had to wait quite a while to ask her a question. Certainly we understood every request may not be able to be met, but there are ways of telling people no that don't have to be rude or unfriendly. It seemed their venue manager may need more training in how to work with people, especially people who are there to enjoy a special life event and have chosen your venue to do so. She definitely needs to learn to smile when greeting people. That would go a long way. We asked to set up two hours earlier than normal and were charged $300 for the privilege, which we paid, but thought that was a steep price. The paid bartenders refused to serve non alcoholic drinks i.e. sodas, water unless it was in a mixed drink. When it was suggested to the manager that putting a tip jar out was inappropriate because we didn't want our guest to feel the need to pay for anything and just be able to enjoy the evening, she just shrugged her shoulders. The tip jar remained. Last call for the bar was made one hour before closing when it was supposed to be 30 minutes prior. Another concern was that we were told if anyone drove and felt they needed to uber home due to overindulging in alcohol, they wouldn't be allowed to leave a car there overnight. I really raised an eyebrow to this one. Being forced to drive when you needed to call for an uber is a lawsuit waiting to happen. So to sum it up, fabulous venue, with a manager in need of some people skills.
