Been here a few times for over night stays. Booking was all done over the phone and was well…read moreexplained of what the costs were. For my stay I had booked out 5months in advance and this time I made sure I booked the main inn. Ste Anne's Spa is great for all types of people whether you're looking for a day visit, cottage home retreat or just an all inclusive overnight type of stay. Every visit I seem to fall more in love with this place. Opted for the I love spa package and do I ever feel pampered. Took the via rail to Cobourg and had a shuttle pick up. From there checking in was seamless. Room was spacious and clean. The curated food menus for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinners are all great with many options to choose from. Enjoyed the steam room, cold plunge and thermal pools. Therapists were all top notch. What a difference when you stay at the main inn! Definitely looking forward to more visits in the future.

Lovely property in Grafton. It's about 90 minutes drive outside Toronto…read more You can also go by rail there and they will arrange pick up for you (there is a fee). Extensive grounds with tranquility gardens and lots of walking paths. Day spa includes lunch and afternoon tea. Lovely big pool, plus a variety of hot and cold jacuzzis. Sauna in the locker room too. They have other yoga, meditation and other classes available for a fee. Lots of body treatments including massages and body scrubs. Meals were wonderful. Great place to decompress. Two minor annoyances - 1. Please do as they ask and put away the phones. It is distracting for other guests 2. Don't reserve chairs by the pool for a long time by leaving your belongings there. Some folks did it for over 3 hours while we were there. So not fair to other guests. Otherwise, a wonderful spot and great staff. Note - Do take your epi pen if you are allergic to bees/wasps. There are quite a few buzzing around the pool and gardens.

This Best Western on the surface looks like most other Best Western Hotels but it has some quirks…read more In fact, I think whoever designed the rooms or approved the design is a kindred spirit with my dad. Everything was functional and "it worked" but things were a little bit strange. So at first we could not find the fridge. The most logical place for the fridge would be under the microwave, in the space under the counter that looks like it would accommodate a fridge. Since the coffee maker was next to the microwave, it just made sense that all food related equipment would be in this nook, right? Well, we finally found the fridge, it was in the closet!!! And the light switch to the light right at the entrance, where do you think that was? Also in the closet! You had to open the closet to find the light switch! Perfectly logical, right? Lol. And the little extra security latch thing, you had to slide open the closet door and keep it open to swing the security latch all the way open, otherwise it hits the closet door. And the light switch for the main part of the room is all the way at the back of the room. So if you didn't know to look in the closet to find the light switch at the entrance, you had to fumble your way in the dark to the back of the room to turn on the lights! We were in 105. Maybe it's just this room that's weird (?!?). However, I should note that when we were checking out, the front desk staff noticed the room we were staying in and she said it's her favourite room in the hotel. Not sure if she says that to everyone, or if the other rooms are even stranger, haha. Anyway, my dad would have been like, everything works, what's the problem? Lol. I am more forgiving of such strangeness, given my upbringing, but my husband thought it was pretty ghetto, haha. Breakfast was also funny. So we were traveling during the time of Covid (not our preferred time to travel, but we were coming home from an interment and wanted to break up our drive), so I was happy that everything was pre-packaged and to-go, but we stayed at another Best Western during our trip and they had hot wrapped breakfast sandwiches (bacon, egg and cheese in an English muffin), and other pre-packaged food. This place had vegetarian omelets that were cold (and although they did not appear frozen, they were rock hard, lol). They were put in individual Ziploc-type bags. We had to heat them up in the microwave in our room. I got a "danish" which was in the same type of bag, but not a single serving, it looked like it was a huge loaf that was manually cut into pieces. And it was more like a coffee cake than a danish. I did get an individually packaged (by the manufacturer) yogurt and apple sauce, and also a juice box. They had bread and bagels, which I passed on, also cottage cheese and whole fresh fruit. Breakfast was not as bad as at the Microtel that I stayed at once in Texas (that place takes the cake for the absolute worst breakfast - think stale pastries and expired juice - and it was over a decade ago, so during normal times, and the fact that I still remember it, says a lot), so I guess I shouldn't complain? Lolz. The hotel is also right by Highway 401. It's functional and serves its purpose as a place to stay. It's not glamourous nor cool. There's free parking. We paid around $130 a night. My husband was not impressed with this place. I thought it was satisfactory ;)
