They have every kind of bread/wrap/roll you can think of and an array of delicious goodies to put on it. They also have pre made ciabattas ready to be toasted, soups and hot meals like lasagne and cottage pie. You can sit down here or takeaway although its always fairly hectic so getting a seat might be difficult. It cost me 5 quid for my toasted wrap and it was SO DAMN GOOD.... So I did find some Doritos flavors at Spar that i hadn't seen anywhere else during my time in Dublin. It's a fully stocked store with an array of items from chips, candy, and cookies to an assortment of grab&go sandwiches and instant ramen. This location is nestled on the corner of a busy, crowded street. No self-checkout. You have to pay at the register. The customer service was a bit lackluster.

They also have a €1 corkage on Sunday through Tuesday nights when purchasing wine through their cellar. This ended up being a great deal and we tried a Bordeaux blend that we never would have discovered. It was delicious! We had olives, focaccia, Tagliatelle Bolognese and a la dolce vita pizza. All of those were special and prepared with love I would definitely return to the wine cellar. And recommend it to other travelers.

The staff were friendly and it was busy, but not too full. I came in a little after 130pm, and I think I'd been in a bit earlier there would have been longer lunch queues. If there is a queue it's worth the wait. I haven't had a Reuben sandwich probably since I left Canada in 2016 (Reuben's are American, but you can get them all over Canada too). Dark rye bread, corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, dill pickle, and Russian dressing. It was delicious. Pickles aren't a staple on Reuben sandwiches, but I love pickles and was happy with this addition. It adds a nice little tang, along with the dressing. The soup was warm and delicious with a bright tomato flavour. Soup changes daily. Portions were quite large. I just got the soup and sandwich and when I ordered I wondered if it would be enough. It was. My tummy was quite happy after lunch here. I'll be back for sure. Or maybe I'll just order in, because they have free delivery in D1.

Soft lighting, contemporary white furnishings, and a clean aesthetic create an environment that feels equally suited to breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner service. Our group of ten made a reservation in advance, and I'm glad we did - at 11:30 on a Sunday morning, the restaurant was completely full, so I would say reservations are non-negotiable, especially for large parties on the weekend. All the ingredients in the deli case looked fresh, from the lettuce, meats, cheese, etc, to the types of bead on top of the case, like the focaccia. Each sandwich is made fresh, and once assembled, is pressed to warm the roll and melt the cheese. My pastrami melt arrived loaded with the meat, and all the ingredients enhanced by the deli mustard made for a great tasting sandwich. It's probably the best pastrami sandwich I've tasted in a long while. Every employee was patient and helpful, and I found this to be quite an effort since customers kept placing orders without much of a break. The Pig & Heifer is definitely worth a repeat visit.
