Been there so many times on my way to college, it reminds me of Portugal and Brazil's padarias. It has a range of sandwiches fillings that won't find anywhere. It's the place to go on your lunchtime. Love the calm atmosphere and their food obviously. Perfect stop if you want to grab a coffee and sandwich.

Pastrami Melt on rye bread. Was fab!

If this is what New York Deli's are like then I need to plan a trip to NY very soon! This was my first time here after having it bookmarked to visit for a long time. I just happened to be passing by and had to go in! Boy was I not sorry. The sandwiches here are crazy good! I don't think I've ever seen a sandwich that looked so good or one which had so much meat in it for that matter! We found ourselves a seat and then went up and ordered our sandwiches and paid at the counter. For a sandwich and drink it came to €8. Not bad, pretty standard for a sandwich and drink in a Dublin coffee shop. Myself and my friend both went for the pastrami melt. We had the choice of white, tomato or rye bread. My friend got the white and I opted for the rye. They were served with a little side portion of cold pasta which was cooked to perfection and a really nice extra touch. The sandwich itself was a beast of a thing. The bread was soft, the pastrami was tender and salty (almost melt in the mouth), complimented beautifully by a kick of mustard and sharpness of pickles. The sandwich also consisted of melted cheese and spinach. I could feel myself fading after the first half and my friend couldn't finish all of hers! The surroundings were pleasant and the place had a warm atmosphere. An older gentleman greeted us with a smile and the staff were friendly. I will definitely be back and I would absolutely recommend. Forget your o'briens and your other mediocre cafés. If you want a REALLY tasty & generous sandwich made with quality ingredients then go to the pig and heifer. You won't be disappointed. Well I lie.. You might be a bit disappointed with yourself when you fail to finish one of their monster sandwiches!

Great lunch spot during the week - there is usually a queue but it moves quickly. You can go for the usual selections but there are a few unusual ones called Hot Colin or Mile High Club ;) Salad bar looks lovely too! If you're lucky to have a weekday afternoon to while away, nab the seat by the window for great people watching while catching up on the latest novel!

I had lunch here a couple of weeks ago and it was a great spot. Modelled on an American style deli, there area few Pig and Heifer's located around Dublin. The one on City Quay is bigger and roomier than most of the others, which obviously makes it a more relaxing place to eat lunch. The clientele is mostly offices, which again doesn't come as a surprise considering the location it's in. I went for the chicken, melted mozzarella, pesto and Italian dressing option on a bap and it did not disappoint. They also have soup and salad options and other things like meatballs, as well as a great selection of wines by the glass. I also noticed that they run tapas evenings too, which I think could work really well. The food was great and the Italian staff were really friendly so I will definitely be returning.

First meal in Dublin! Really good Reuben Sandwich but the side pasta was a bit weird. Very friendly staff!

Since I don't eat red meat, I was very excited to see a vegetarian Irish breakfast option. I ordered this as well as a mocha latte. Despite the rain, my friend and I sat outside since all of the indoor seating was occupied. Thankfully some heaters provided warmth for what could've been a chilly breakfast. Very quickly the lattes came out which my friend and I sipped on. They were soooo cute, mine had the design of a little bear on top! The latte itself was hot and not too sweet, the perfect start to the experience. After a few short minutes, the food came out! Immediately, my friend and I dug in. It was honestly everything I expected and even more! There were no weak links on the plate and there were generous portions as well. I sat there for a while working my way through my delicious plate!! Overall, I was very happy with my experience at Beanhive. It was an aesthetic cafe that also provided a hearty breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

The first day we arrived to Dublin, I had a bit of a headache. I sent my husband in search of coffee and a bite in the hopes of warding off the headache. He brought back a tuna melt and mocha from The Bald Barista. Both were excellent. The tuna melt was herbaceous and flavorful and the mocha was the perfect blend or rich chocolate and strong espresso. So, a few days later when my mom arrived and was hoping for coffee and a bite, I said--I've got just the place! On that visit, we enjoyed our coffee and food in house. You order at the counter where you enter and if you're dining in, you simply take the stairs to the dining room and they'll bring you both your food and coffee. This time, I ordered the same coffee (why mess with a good thing) and a yogurt with everything (fruit, nuts, seeds--the works!). The shop itself is cute, warm, and inviting. The service is top notch with beautifully friendly folks working in here (including the Bald Barista himself). If you're in Dublin and are looking for an exemplary cuppa and some tasty bites served with a smile--this is your spot. Get to it!

So much food to try! So many options! I'm glad we only found the Bald Barista on our second-to-last morning in Dublin. The lattes were delicious, no doubt, but a med-low bar imho. What got me were the absolutely perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. By far the best eggs I've ever had at a restaurant. Service was lovely, everyone was super nice. The place was clean (even the loo), and I loved all the coffee kitsch (knick-knacks) on shelves around the place.

Friendly service. For breakfast, I loved their vegetarian Irish breakfast that they no longer make, but they do have a traditional Irish breakfast. I also tried their baked beans and kale that came with tomato baked beans and fried kale on bread and topped with fried eggs (€14.5). It was good. Another breakfast item that is served for breakfast or all day on the weekends. Their Caprese sandwich for lunch is addictive and they pair it with a great tasty bread (€11). Their cakes and teas are tasty, I love their chocolate cake. Their coffee, lattes and Mocha are average. But the experience and atmosphere still make them enjoyable. Overall, this is a place that I will always visit.

They prepare and serve up coffee as a city better than any other city in the world. Sorry Seattle, Portland, its the truth. As a full fledge coffee nerd/snob I am looking for great coffee nothing more. Also if they don't roast their own beans and they are just serving someone else's coffee they will never get above a 3 star from me. I am looking strictly at the coffee and the customer service in my reviews. Accents was fantastic. When I walked in the Barista, a pretty little red headed Irish woman was doing some spectacular latte art on a Mocha, she smiled and asked me what I would like. I order just a regular Latte. They do not roast their own beans, but she was out of coffee in the grinder, she reached for a new sealed bag and I caught the name, McCabe's. I was unfamiliar so afterward I looked them up. here is the link if anyone is interested. (https://mccabecoffee.com) Local award winning Cork roaster. I watched the Barista, fill the grinder and then told me it would be a minute as she needed to dial in the espresso. I shook my head in a circle like I didn't get it but okay. She had it dialed in after 3 shots. looked like 18 in and 36 out. She was a pro, steamed my milk while the shot pulled in about 24 seconds. I ordered my drink to go but it was still presented with great art and a smile. Told me where the sugar and lids were but suggested I tried it before i added anything, that the espresso is very good. I tasted it and said, "You are right, needs nothing" and it didn't. BEST LATTE I HAVE HAD THIS TRIP TO DUBLIN.
