My first visit to Dublin, we were on our way to St. Patrick's Cathedral and happened upon Bite of Life to grab a snack. I ordered a green smoothie, a berry smoothie, and a slice of salmon quiche. Both were absolutely delicious. I genuinely would like to remake the quiche recipe at home because of how unique it was! The green smoothie tasted very natural and healthy. I would definitely recommend. For the rating, since I am obviously a tourist, I don't understand the politics of Dublin, but for some reason every store front had a lots of political flags. It was a bit unattractive for me as a customer, but otherwise really appreciated the food and services of the cafe. Also the prices were a bit surprising, we paid $35 for two smoothies, a slice of quiche, and a side of scrambleld eggs, and smoked salmon. read more

In a nice location to take your order to go as it's right next to St. Patrick's park. Menu seemed to have a nice variety of options from sandwiches to soups and salads. I ordered the XMas sandwich which was a solid choice & not something you can find everyday, the cranberry and stuffing hit the spot. I wasn't wowed by the coffee. Staff was lovely & the place is decorated in a cute quaint style. Would definitely stop by again to try other things from their menu. read more

This little cafe is great! My group stopped here to get coffee this morning when we were all dragging. It was bustling when we arrived and quieted down while we enjoyed our hot drinks. I got a hot chocolate and a lemon cranberry loaf slice. I haven't had the slice yet but the hot chocolate was delicious and hot, just what I needed on a cold day. The employees were friendly and worked quickly to deliver drinks. The prices were reasonable and very much worth what you got. I definitely recommend this place! read more

First of all this joint Opens at 800 am. Not earlier. The place is a cozy small place with some outdoor seating. The food is very tasty. The supreme English bagel deluxe was yummy. The granola and yogurt was nice amont and tasty. The help are very nice. The bathroom , well you better have a real small body and a small ass because the bathroom is the size of small closet. Overall this place is a must stop eat and enjoy Dublin. read more

Traveling between Christchurch and St Patrick's Cathedral and we're pretty hungry as we walk by this little shop. It's raining and it looks like there's no room but we get luck and find a spot in the corner for our party of 5. My Americano was so necessary as the coffee at my hotel was horrible so I didn't drink it. Everyone seemed happy with their drink choices as we began to order a late breakfast. We shared between us the porridge with banana and honey was great on this cold morning. We also had a brie, ham and cranberry sauce. This was definitely everyone's favorite and we decided we are going back for more tomorrow. My son knows I love bagel and lox so we tried one of those, he was very happy with his choice until he tasted the brie and ham sandwich. We also shared a pecan and coffee cake, it was OK. The ladies working here were very nice and despite being very busy got our food out quickly. read more

Lovely little cafe that seems to certainly be a small business. Had the tuna melt. It was delicious. A perfect stop coming from St. Patrick's Cathedral on the way to a tour at the Gaols. As a tourist, I loved that there were no obnoxious Americans here as it seemed to be a real local type of spot. read more

What an absolutely charming little place. Breakfast served all day and plenty of very sweet ladies taking care of you. My wife had smoked salmon quiche and she loved it. I went more traditional with eggs, bacon, sausage and a very good toast. Forgot to ask but it looked a little like a light rye. Only thing missing on this menu was grits. We Texans miss our grits when we travel away from the south. Fresh squeezed orange juice, milk and coffee. I have to ask when we get back to what type of coffee it was because I liked it a lot and I'm not a big coffee drinker. This was our first breakfast in Ireland and we are going around the Emerald Isle coast on a 14 day tour. All my breakfasts from here on out will have to live up to this standard. Neighborhood spot, great people watching. They have outdoor seating and you can hear the bells from St. Patrick's Cathedral across the street. I had a salmon quiche. The dough part was cakey but the egg part was superb. There was some salmon and spinach in it. I sat inside to get away from the smokers (that is Ireland). However, in theory, the outside is nice. I just love sitting in front of their fire and their coffee is so good. This is a tiny little place but quite comfortable with lots of cushions. The banana, apple and cinnamon smoothie is delicious altho a bit pricey at €4 but for a treat, worth it. The service is quite friendly and you don't get the feeling of being rushed out which is a bonus. The first time there I had brekkie with scramble egg, crispy bacon and spicy sausage which just hit the spot and made this a place on my list to places to come back to. read more

Roaming on the streets of Dublin on a Sunday morning, before 10 AM and looking for food, oh well, good luck. I got lucky! I found this lil cafe, right by the St Patrick's Park. It is a perfect spot for breakfast/brunch. It has a lot of options and the service is quick. I ordered a Latte with Chocolate Croissant. It was delicious! Found this cafe on our way to go to St. Patrick's Cathedral. It's a small cafe across from the grounds of the church. Service was really attentive and good. Food was good as well. The scrambled eggs were cooked just perfect. It appears they serve breakfast all day. It also has regular cafe type fare. Only warning is that it's pretty small, so seating could be an issue on a busy day, but you can get it to go. read more

Stopped in this quaint cafe in the late morning on our walk through Dublin and were pleasantly surprised. The Tikka Chicken sandwich was delicious and not too pricey. Yet another spot in Dublin that I have been meaning to try for quite sometime. I only stopped in for an espresso so I did not get to try the food but the display looked great and with lots of variety. I enjoyed the vibe of the spot, it kinda reminds me of a country kitchen of an eccentric Granny that traveled the world as it has that wise feel about. Looking forward to eating there... Strolling through the park at Saint Patrick's, you might find yourself in need of something sweet... Bite of life is the answer and can bring more joy than expected from its little storefront. Incredibly quick waitstaff and mouthwatering pastries and sandwiches are features of this darling cafe. A wrap and tea later and I have never been so impressed by a coffee shop. This was the perfect stop before heading over to St. Patrick's Cathedral. It's a very small and cozy spot. I could have stayed in the corner near the wood burning fireplace all day. I had a coffee and the Pesto Chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I wanted to get some pastries and save them for later, except that I would have to carry it with me while visiting sites. The staff there was friendly and very homey like. I felt like I was sitting in their kitchen while they were baking and cooking. read more

Lovely cafe in the heart of Dublin near the famous St. Patrick's Cathedral. They have a great selection of freshly-made sandwiches and house-baked pastries. I had the toasted sandwich with swiss cheese, tomato, and pesto and a slice of their famous dutch apple pie (pictured). Both tasted fresh and delicious and were affordable! This is a great place for a bite to eat! They provide a wide range of foods and breads and even for the veggies. They do toasties and scrambles eggs bagels and have hummus and avocados are part of the salads which you dont see everywhere. The staff are lovely and even gave me a taste of some juice. It was apple and beetroot and something else but it was magical and I will be back for many lunchtimes. Though if you go at around 1 be prepared to wait as the queue is out the door. There is much art on the walls and by the decoration you can tell that the owners are caring and true people that want to make good healthy food. I haven't tried the coffee yet but I really want to! read more

Was really impressed with this place. It's a small shop but it's very welcoming and cozy. After walking through Dublin we were looking for a place to eat on our way to St. James cathedral and this place was nearby. The staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. Had a perfectly serviceable americano and a delicious brown bread pesto sandwich. Walking distance from St.Patrick's Cathedral and the owner who greeted us was just the loveliest. Its a great place for a quick takeaway as any hot sandwich tastes fantastic! But unfortunately its rarely quick as the ques during lunch time are really long. Also they tend to mix up the orders or just prepare the wrong stuff because of really high noise levels. read more

Hi, I have visited the Bite Cafe a few times on Patrick Street. It has the best coffee ever, the freshest and most fabulous choice of food you could ever imagine. You can be healthy as much as you like between smoothies, salads etc. but if you want to indulge - you must try the Danish Apple Pie (hot) with fresh cream!!!. The staff are so friendly, amazingly fast given the lunch time rush but they are well able for this rush. Orders are perfect, they smile and chat no matter how busy. Friendly, clean, fantastic place - definitely worth a visit. Open very early in the morning for the best breakfasts ever. They open at 7.30 and close 4.30 - its a very long day for them so get in early. Food prepared fresh every day. Can't say anymore good things - you just have to visit yourself!!. D read more

I come here very often in the morning and the great people working there help me start the day right! This cafe has a very local and authentic feeling. Their porridge is only 3.50 and comes with banana and honey - very good deal. Their salads are very tasty (probably the best salads in a cafe you can get in Dublin, imho) and healthy. The make real, fresh juice (beetroot, ginger, apple, orange), which is not something you can easily get in Dublin! The decor is very cozy with a real fireplace and comfy benches. Plenty of regulars that you can spot every morning. They have a picture of Earth there with a quote from Carl Sagan about the Pale Blue Dot. Read it when you're there! Also - they are open on Sundays! A rarity for cafes in Dublin. read more

There is an indoor eating area, but it's so chaotic here it's really not enjoyable to eat inside. Best to takeaway and eat at your desk, or in a nearby park. Finally had order taken by male bus boy who seemed he wanted to be anywhere else and said "I am waiting". We ordered two "specials" and the bœuf bourguignon. Two separate couples came in and were served before we received our food. So hard to eat as it was 80-85 degrees in there. The beef was good and would recommend. The two specials were chicken and very very dry. To wrap it up we had to hunt down the wait staff to get the ticket as they actively avoided eye contact. Fairly expensive for just ok food and horrible service. Customer service is not hard. A "Welcome" or "Glad you came in" goes a long way.

Like a wildlife journalist I hung outside a building site, gazing at a multitude of pale ass crack in their natural habitat. Mentally urging them to go eat some meat to add to their ample rumps. Those fellas certainly can get a move on when it's time to eat, suddenly they sprinted like antelope to O'Donovan and I followed them too with my telescopic camera lens. I ventured into their feeding ground to sample the breakfast roll that they got again for lunch, dear Lord! It was sinfully good and cheap, it will probably take me a week to walk it off though but I feel better letting you know where to get one of the best breakfast rolls in the city.
