Excellent friendly service. High quality products. We recently had to completely rebuild our home…read moredue to a mold infestation as we got burnt on a botched home inspection. The Lumber Barn and it's staff have been incredibly helpful. They offer free local delivery, quality products. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a local building materials provider who could offer such great products, with a personal touch on service, and a price very competitive with the big box stores. I shop here for all my home repair needs whenever possible. Would love to see them expand their hours to 6pm so I could stop by on my way home from work. I would think they would also get a bit more business this way from others on their way home as well. The only time I shop anywhere else is when they are closed and I need something that day.

This is a sad day for the disabled people living in town. I've been going to lumber Barn for a few…read moremonths now as I like to support my local business. I usually park far away because there is no handicap accessible parking and someone always blocks me so I end up having to wait to get in my vehicle as I have a passenger side folding ramp. Today it was raining and I wasn't feeling well so I parked out front with in a minute someone pulls in and I'm lucky I was able to stop and retract my ramp to avoid hitting there vehicle. So you think anyone would actually move staring right at me. So I move my vehicle park somewhere else and immediately drop my lift and sadly just left it down. I go in make my order I did mention to the cashier maybe adding a handicap accessible parking space? Im thinking it is 2026 right didn't say it though. After I finished I get in my vehicle drive out back I immediately noticed one young guy shop vacuum the Lumber Yard truck and the other walking in opposite direction, other driving aroundon forklift. After about 5 minutes I open my truck hatchback and pulled back and forth a few times to get anyone attention I even pulled back and forth a few times hoping to get noticed nothing one one the pallet truck, other vacuuming still no service. I eventually call inside and explain ive been waiting out side for almost 10 minutes, she says she will call them. Another 2 minute go buy and some guy comes over I give him my receipt and say I'm picking up #8 2x4x 8 then mention to him I asked inside where to go but no one answered me I've been waiting for 10 minutes. Suddenly this guy says abruptly you have been waiting no more than 5 minutes I was standing right over there. There was something about the way he said that to me I found bothering I said so what you admit you were right there watching me waiting driving back and forward. Now this guy is begins to escalate and I say to him please we can just stop talking if this is how you treat the disabled. This guy now raises his voice saying we dont have to deal with this nonsense or your harassment you dont have to come here. Now im thinking I feel bad for this person obviously probably the owners kid right? I look at him and say so open my truck nad pulled back and forth a few times hoping to get noticed nothing one one the pallet truck, other vacuum no service. I eventually call inside and explain ive been waiting out side for almost 10 minutes, she says she will call them. There was something about the way he said that to me I found bothering I said so what you admit you were right there watching me waiting then driving back and forward. Now this guy is escalation and I say to him please we can just stop talking if this is how you treat the disabled. This guy now raises his voice saying we dont have to deal wih this nonsense or your harassment you dont have to come here. Now im thinking I feel bad for this person obviously has issues probably the owners kid right? I look at him and say so you admit you seen me waiting and I had to call inside to get your help and this is how you speak to disabled old guy. He snap and says you didn't call inside they just called me you are wrong! I say okay grab my phone and tell him this is the worst customer service and I will call inside to prove to you I just called. Wrong move he starts yelling and threatening me of harassment then suddenly the young vacuum guy who only heard him saying harassment walks over and immediately sided with him say we are not here to be harassed we dont need this sh#t. Now I'm done in disbelief and say can we just stop talking I get it and pointing to my receipt. The older guy looks at the young guy who I guess can just vacuum do what he wants reads looks like #8 2x6? or something. Im old I'm paralyzed with bad TBI and sometimes I speak slow or pause. I kindly said #8 2x6x8 he now loses it on me saying again we don't need this harassment we dont need customer like you go somewhere else. I'm ready to leave get a refund suddenly when boards start smashing inside my van just being thrown in; one grazed my arm. And they blocked me in, I couldn't even get out to my wheelchair. I have an adaptive driver seat I drive with hand controls. I need the middle to be clear so my seat can go back then turn. They were still cursing. I shook it off drove away called and asked to speak with the manager asking if they can come outside to the front door as I was barricaded in. I explained my story I got an apology which meant nothing at this point. He looks at me and says oh his last day is Friday. I'm thinking great this generation can just treat a disabled old man in a wheelchair however they want knowing they done and resigned at end of week. Its not like being a paraplegic is stressful enough but we locals really need to do our part educating our kids. I was just there last week didn't see either these to arrogant people. I actually tipped some young kid who helped me, he was obviously raised ri

I present myself as the ultimate LaValley Building Supply customer because, over the last 25 years,…read moreI have purchased about 22 windows, about 10 interior doors, and many other items from them. All of these windows and doors were properly cut to size and I installed them easily. The employees at LaValley Building Supply in Newport, NH have years of experience, they know their business, and are always helpful. They have a wealth of knowledge. Home Building Contractors buy (from LaValleys) the wooden studs, plywood, siding, windows and doors, roofing materials, hardware, cabinets, plumbing items, and other items which they use to build complete houses. So the question which should be asked is: Where did the two people who left such negative reviews go wrong? I can see the answer clearly. One of them tried to order a window or door via email and the other tried to order a window or door over the telephone and got upset because there were problems. I personally cannot comprehend how anyone can try to order a door or window via email or by the telephone and expect to get the order right. That seems like a fools errand to me. The way I do it, and the way it works, is I drive over to LaValley Building Supply and I sit down with the expert salesperson who handles the window and door orders. I explain to him what I am trying to do and I have the measurements of the windows and doors I want. The salesperson will ask questions about the windows, type of window, single hung, double hung, or something different. He will ask questions about the doors, type of door, left opening, right opening, opens in, opens out. He will ask about the rough openings for the windows and doors. And every window and door that I have ordered from LaValleys has been correct and has fit properly. The two negative reviews previously posted by the two angry people who tried to order windows or doors via email or over the phone should just be regarded as ignorant attempts to order which were doomed to fail, and that is on them.

When I went to pick them up, these morons only had one of six doors correct. The whole project was stalled. As a veteran I would say, the worst most disrespectful, disgusting service ever. Don't ever use these people, I can't believe they still exist with the customer service and incompetence that I experienced all the way up to the manager.
