This is the worst small business that I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I prefer to do business with local businesses. While the prices at Home Depot and Lowes were much better, I decided that it would be worth it to have a local company in case of problems or the need for future service. What a mistake. The prices were high to begin with and then they tried to screw me by hitting me for all the extra charges that were part of the original deal. For example, they didn't know they were going to need adhesive for tile? The attitude was terrible, they were extremely difficult to work with. It took weeks to get them to put estimates together because everyone has reduced hours, supposedly because of the economy. I used them for wood flooring and tile work. I wouldn't use them if they were the last business on earth. I never bother to write reviews but i couldn't let someone else endure this if it could be avoided. Avoid these people at all cost. Lowes in Gilford is very friendly, has good prices, provides estimates promptly and shows up exactly when they say they will. I am in my fifties and have owned and renovated several homes and this is literally the single worst experience with a small business I have ever had. read more

Cindy is the best!! I have worked w/ her three times and each time she delivered. We moved from a small condo to a larger home where we were hoping to use most of our hodgepodge furniture together in a large open room. She helped me choose wall colors, lighting fixtures...and most of all arranged furniture to maximize the space for easy conversation and tie in w/ the rest of decors. Not only does she know her products n have a great taste in design, but she also carries herself in a very professional manner. She listens and asks questions patiently to find out about our styles. The day she came to my home; she started to work the moment she walked in the room. Her keen eyes took everything in quickly making comments n suggestions along the way. I have to say I disagree with L.H. on all levels. I have been a homeowner in the Lakes Region since 1987, and I have used Colorshed's services in all 3 of the houses I have owned, including the house I completely renovated. I have found excellent service in the many times I have used them, from small projects to complete renovations. Any thing that did go wrong was fixed immediately and without complaint. I was given a quote each time that was right on the money - there were no extra charges added in. I, too, find LH's review very surprising -- and certainly not reflective of my experience. I first stopped by ColorShed almost 10 years ago looking for a kitchen floor in a summer house that freezes every winter. ColorShed recommended a product that none of the other places I visited seemed to know about. Installation was smooth and well done. When the slightest of bubbles occurred a year later, they insisted on sending the installer over the next day to remedy it. Based on this experience, we had ColorShed install a bathroom floor and purchased several carpets from them. We even used them as a supplier for a hardwood floor in our home in Colorado. And when there were issues with the manufacturer, ColorShed was right there in our corner, as an advocate for getting it right. Yes, they cost more than Home Depot or Lowes, but you get sooo much more. For a quality job, delivered on time at the quoted price, with follow up as needed, I'll continue to favor ColorShed with my business every time. read more
