Last time I was in Rincon I could not get a sunset dinner reservation at Villa Cofresi. So this…read moreyear I planned in advance and called several weeks before the trip. We reserved a table at the balcony right at sunset at 6pm. We arrived and promptly got thru the security and were taken to our table and it was the most gorgeous view ever. We ordered the signature drink, The Pirata, and it was delish, very strong , and came in a coconut. We then wanted to order dinner. But no server or employee of any kind came to our table for over an hour after we got our drinks. We waited and waited and when we decided to give up and go elsewhere then finally a server came. So we decided to order since it was about 7:15 and we figured it would take too long to go somewhere else and order. My bf ordered the lobster mofongo in some kind of soup and I got red snapper in a plantain crust. Then again we waited and waited. I was so hungry I started trying to pick the coconut pieces out of my Pirata drink. Finally at 8:11 our food was served, And we were starved. I was prepared to hate the food haha but it was actually so delicious. So I guess come here if you are not starved and have tons of time. And you will get a delicious meal w the most beautiful sunset view.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed chatting with Ismael about our common locations in New Jersey. Our beach view was amazing. The beach was very clean and uncrowded. We are already planning our next visit!

When I say this…read moreplace is absolutely perfect I mean there is not a single thing that I would change about my wedding day. The hotel itself is incredible - location wise it's beach front with a pool and beautifully laid out. It accommodated my entire family to the max for an extended weekend through our wedding stay, including my uncle who is hard of mobility. He was able to stay in a room beside the pool which he loved ease of access to everything without having to go up any steps from the ground level. The staff is the most accommodating, especially the event planner, Graciela. She truly lives up to her name as she handles herself and her interactions with her clients with such grace, she is a ray of light in human form. Chris is also a wonderful host and you can truly tell he puts his heart and soul into making everyone's experience at Casa Islena a memorable one. And as for the food - phenomenal. The head chef Wesley clearly is passionate about his job and puts a very unique yet tasteful flair in every plate. Prior to having our wedding here, we already would dream about their poke bowls, empanadillas, and churrasco but post-wedding all of our guests were raving about the food being the best food they'd ever experienced at a wedding. There are truly not enough words I can say to express how perfect Casa Islena is in EVERY aspect. Pre- wedding as a guest of the restaurant/ poolside brunches and previous hotel stays I already would have rated it a 10/10. But post- wedding there is no number I can place on any scale to express how incredible it is. You'll just have to go there, and see for yourself. Thank you to all at Casa Islena for not making just my wedding day, but the entire week, the absolute best week of my lifetime. I am forever grateful.

It is a secluded and hidden property. It feels very peaceful because it's quiet and relaxing which makes it a great place if you are looking to truly relax and disconnect. from the fast pace of life. The pool area is beautiful and very large, which makes it a great place to lounge and enjoy the tropical atmosphere. I also really liked the beach bar café next to the pool, where you can grab drinks and snacks while enjoying the view. I really enjoyed ordering many pina colada's which were so delicious. The grounds of the property are pretty and well landscaped, which adds to the relaxing feel of the resort. However, there are a few things that could really improve the experience. The rooms definitely need renovation and upkeep. Since the property is older, the wear and tear really shows. A fresh coat of paint and an overall renovation of both the interior rooms and some exterior areas would make a big difference. The resort only has one main restaurant, and while some of the staff were very nice, a few of the servers had dispositions that were not very welcoming. Another thing I felt was missing was a small gift shop or convenience store on the property. It would be very helpful to have a place where guests could buy things like drinks, snacks, sunscreen, hats, magazines, or Puerto Rico souvenirs. The beach access could also be improved, as it wasn't as easy or convenient as expected for a beachfront property. It is situated on the beach, but it was not an ideal place to walk or sit on the beach as it was too rocky and an only a small area of sand. That said, I truly enjoyed my stay because of the destination wedding and the beautiful setting. It was a wonderful event and I am glad I experienced the resort. However, because of the condition of the rooms and some of the limitations of the property, I personally would not stay here again unless renovations were completed.

The property is outdated and in desperate need of a major renovation. Our room had a musty smell, visible mold, and overall cleanliness was disappointing. To make matters worse, the staff was not welcoming or accommodating, which made the experience even more frustrating. Customer service goes a long way, especially when guests are already dealing with issues at the property. This was our first stay here, and it will definitely be our last. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, enjoyable, or relaxing vacation experience.

Not sure why as April is shouldering peak season in Puerto Rico. That said, it was nice to have peace and quiet while relaxing in the pool which we had to ourselves for 2 days! On the down side, there was little to no staff. The bar remained closed the entire time. MINUS ONE STAR We did enjoy the Thai restaurant one evening! The food was really delicious. We had the Pad Thai with shrimp, the spicy papaya salad and chicken curry. Highly recommend this place as a lot of locals were in. This was the one time we did see a lot of people. ADD A STAR The room was nice and had a nice enclosed outdoor patio where we could hang out and dry our clothes after a day at the beach. The beds were comfortable although VERY high! ADD ONE STAR The resort grounds were very well maintained and I enjoyed strolling around taking pictures of the property and all the pretty flowers! Definitely a pretty place. Loved the lookout area that also served at the Thai restaurant. ADD ONE STAR No other food was available for breakfast or lunch but they did have a nice coffee station with many choices of flavors syrups and creamers/milks and teas! ADD ONE STAR They also had a game room for the kids to enjoy. There were also many large iguanas roaming the property where our room was. It was fun sitting outside our door watching them climb the trees! Parking was on a very steep hill across from the Inn. Be careful to attend to your rolling suitcases as we almost had one roll down the hill! Haha Overall the Lazy Parrot was a nice place to stay. Just wish they had staffed the bar! As for breakfast and lunch there are 2 excellent places right next door!

I've stayed at many $10- $4/night hotels, and I'd trade any one of them for this one. (Except the one with bed bugs.) For the price, I thought it would be amazing. But it was only amazingly bad. Last month, I stayed at a Westin for the same exact amount, and had the polar opposite experience. Hands down, this was the worst value for money I've ever experienced.

The majority of the staff is very nice. However, the hotel was understaffed and empty during our stay. For two to three days, my guest and I had to share a single dirty bath towel. We requested room cleaning and additional towels, a few times. There were other non ideal situations and when we raised concerns, they were often minimized. The pool bar was also not very well maintained or staffed. Overall, it was ok for a last-minute booking, but for the price, I think you could get more value at nearby properties.
