Great service and food. They fed us at the last moments before they closed in a Sunday evening

We were driving through on our way to Great Falls. We drove past this little place but After seeing huckleberry milkshake on the sign, we turned around. All of their fruit flavors come from REAL fruit so we decided to get a cherry shake as well. So so good!! Place is decked out 50"s diner style and the blonde gal who waited on us was very personable and told us of the past 40 yrs of this business. Ok, let's talk about the FAS (food, atmosphere, and staff). First off, this restaurant has positioned itself to be a old fashion float/ice cream parlor. Therefore, the food you'll discover here is exactly that, large servings of ice cream, chicken strip baskets, hamburgers, sandwiches, and other fast food items. What sets it apart from other fast food restaurants is that the food is homemade. For instance, my family had cheeseburgers, pizza, a club sandwich, and fries, which were all delicious and each had a flair of being individually prepared. The atmosphere is truly five stars in this little town. Small, quaint, and cute, it feels like you stepped back into mid-twentieth century America. Posters of James Dean and Marylin Monroe litter the walls throughout. Additionally, there are two extra seating rooms apart from the main area. One is an arcade and the other has cases of movies to rent. If for nothing more, check out the atmosphere and get a shake (you can never go wrong with ice cream). Finally, we come to the staff. Friendly, accommodating, and hard working explains the staff members, from the food runners to the cooks. They really try hard to take care of everyone in a timely manner. Overall, go and enjoy this little piece of old school pop Americana. Like I said, even if it's to get a shake, go check it all out. I promise you'll go for a shake but be back for more. read more

Perfect, classic small-town American restaurant. Simple menu, everyone enjoyed their dinners! Had burgers, fries, pizza, and salad today. This is an old favorite of ours from years ago, came back today and it hasn't changed a bit. Please don't change, we'll be back! read more

Bacon cheese burger with lettuce, onion and goop was the best. We had huckleberry shakes too which were delicious. Waitress was super friendly with a lovely smile. Very Clean. read more

When we got to Lincoln it was full for a biker rally. These guys were closing but were willing to accommodate a small group and get us some grub. They also made some extra grub (for free) to take to the law enforcement staff at the venue across the street. They earned my loyalty right then. read more

Spotted pit stop on our way through Lincoln and we were really hankering for a hot bowl of soup as the wind chill was pretty rough on the motorcycle swung in and had an excellent bowl of ham and bean soup, a fat grilled cheese, followed by a killer cheeseburger -- couldn't recommend it highly enough! (Also it's adorable inside and the servers were lovely!) read more

Our family really likes stopping to eat at this little Mom and Pop diner. The food is tasty and well-portioned; the service is friendly; the bathrooms are clean; and it's a nice change from the stale factory-line fare of big-name fast food joints. I only wish they were in my town instead of Lincoln! read more

We stopped in for lunch today. The place was very clean, the waitress was very friendly and the food was very good. Their sweet potato fries are to die for! I had the roadster - grilled chicken. Very flavorful and moist. My husband had a cheese pizza. Very tender crust. We will definitely go back there the next time we go through Lincoln, Montana. read more

Stopped in for some good American food...oops. The food was tasteless and bland. I bet the hamburger was frozen and not seasoned. Don't plan to rush back. On the up side, the shake was good and full of fresh flavor. Before we left, I got a small ice cream cone...they only had chocolate, vanilla, and huckleberry. I got the huckleberry and it was very good. Real, whole berries and right temperature...no ice crystals. I think they would benefit from watching Robert Irving and "Restaurant Impossible". read more

This is s great "pit stop" with local beef burgers. We stopped here for a quick lunch while out for a drive. The burger was excellent not greasy and so tasty. They make home made milk shakes. The fries were decent too. In fact we had to stop back by on our way home for a milk shake - where do you get "real" milk shake these days. read more

Ate here. Food and service was ok, but if you use a debit or credit card to pay, they charge you a surcharge no matter the amount. Matter of fact the more money you spend the higher the surcharge. I asked about it with the cashier and she said that was a new system and she wasn't sure how it works, but that the surcharge goes higher the more you spend. Shady business practice by the ownership and to be honest I think this goes against Montana and Federal law-a rising surcharge. read more

I wanted this place to be good. More than anything I wanted a good burger. For my visit here, I got neither. Burger was over cooked and bland, I had to walk up to the counter, order, then sit back down at my booth, and the table was covered in ketchup even after it got wiped down. I will be back as I'm told that's not usual, hopefully I can update this to a good review. read more

I am from out of town and I find myself DREAMING of the Pit Stops Burgers and HOMEMADE Beef Barley soup! In fact I haven't had a bad morsel from this place. Always get friendly service with a smile and the prices are reasonable. read more

Actually, I'm very, very surprised at the comments that were left previously about this restaurant. My wife and I stopped in this weekend (5/16/2015) and not only enjoyed the ambiance but ordered the double and the triple hamburgers and we thought they were exceptionally good. Granted, there was a little grease, and juicy, but you don't eat a hamburger like this every day... So loosen up and enjoy the flavor. Avoid your processed foods and eat more like your grandparents and you'll enjoy more tasteful foods and probably lose weight. It came with real cheese, not the processed stuff. They did NOT put ketchup or mustard on them like someone else said because we had to use the bottles on the table to put ketchup and mustard on so I don't know what that person's talking about (many months ago). They were also very friendly, coming to our table many a time, making sure all was good. If you're like us and traveling through little towns like this and look for places that are unique... Don't pass this one up. Support those little Mom and Pop stores folks! read more

I tend to agree with the others who gave this joint a poor review. It looks kind of cool on the inside which is part of the appeal, but aesthetics alone can't win me over. The burgers seem high in fat resulting in a very messy eat and leaves me feeling "dirty". I've eaten pizza and chicken strips on my travels through as well, and was only satisfied. I guess it was my fault, shouldn't have gone back a third and fourth time. It's just nice to get a quick bite while passing through and Lincoln is a good midway point for me. I will plan better next time, because I'm never going there again! read more

My visit was nothing less than spectacular. Food was great! Service was friendly. Establishment was very clean. I talked with Jill (the owner), what a pleasant and accomodating gal. Everything I asked for I received. I am one of those guys who is picky and I always make servers do extra work (a fault of mine). Jill took care of everything without frustration or missing a beat. The Pit Stop is one of those rare places that still makes REAL milk shakes! I think everyone should try this place. read more

It always amazes me how impatient and rude people are now a days! I have a feeling all you guys just like to complain. This is a small town NOT A FIVE STAR TOWN and isn't traveling the joy of trying different things than what your use to?? ALL the food businesses in Lincoln are FABULOUS AND DIFFERENT in there own way. Not every business is the same with the same food!! Have you ever stopped to think that what you may dislike is what someone else may love? Did you ever stop to think "WOW this place is busy" maybe they are short staffed or someone didn't show up to work and they are DOING THE BEST THEY CAN with what they got! Until you've worked in the food business, you will NEVER know exactly how frustrating and stressful it really is!!!! Use your head before you react. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but so do I sometimes and I live in Lincoln but I don't write them off after one visit and talk crap about them all over the Internet. Your one comment is NOTHING compared to all the GREAT reviews I receive every day! Why don't you ask all those who are in 7 days a week how they feel bout these businesses?? read more
