Be sure to thoroughly check your merchandise before leaving the store. As with many businesses they can't be responsible for something once it leaves the store. I came into this store on December 14, 2025 to have shirts made of my deceased son for an event that I was having in his memory. I came in with my own shirts and I went over the entire order with the young lady named Grace. She even put all of the information on the order forms in the system as I told her everything that I wanted to be done. She had me sign to say that since I came there with my own shirts, that if the wording or pictures don't come out right, then they are not responsible because it was not their shirts from their store. I came back to the store to pick up my shirts and the pictures were put on the wrong shirts. She went to see if they had more shirts, but they did not. She called her general manager David and he stated that I signed a form that said if they make a mistake on a shirt that I brought in myself, that I have to go and purchase more shirts and they will reprint this for no charge. This was not correct; she told me that I was signing for if the shirts did not come out right because it was not their shirts then they are not responsible. While I was in the store, neither one of them ever said that they were sorry for the mistake that they made. The manager just kept saying that I needed to bring more shirts back and they will reprint for free, but they are not responsible for anything else. I kept telling him, that this is very unfair because this was a mistake that the store has made, after he just kept repeating that, I took the shirts and I left the store. I called back up to the store several times, some of the times that I called, Grace stated that she gave David my number, or he was on her other line, or he was due to call the store back again. I left my phone number more than once for the manager and he has yet to this day returned my call. I then asked for the owner information and she told me that she could not give me that information. Then Grace told me to send an email in order to reach the owner. This is the email address to the store for when they place orders and everyone has access to this email. I sent an email to the email address explaining the situation and the owner has never reached out as well. Since there was no response back from the manager David or the owner, I went to the store with more shirts that I had to purchase over again and was told that these shirts will be ready the next morning and they will contact me. In this time, the owner had called and spoke to the employee and I ask for the owner to contact me and that never took place either. I waited the entire next day and I did not hear anything from the store, final a couple of hours before they were closing, I started calling up to the store and there was no answer on the phone. I called several times and there was no still no answer. I waited almost an hour later and called back and finally got an answer. At this point, I was told that my shirt was not ready and give them 15 minutes. I think that this is totally unfair for a place of business to not even take accountability for their mistakes. There was no solution offered, or not so much as an apology from either person. I already spent my money and trusted this place of business that I found online. This is not fair to tell me to go out and spend more money on additional shirts, that I already paid for as well as a service that I paid for and I already had trouble getting this color of shirts in the first place. This is not professional behavior from a place of business, and I feel that something should have been done because this was the mistake of the store, instead of telling me that I sign a paper basically saying that if the store makes a mistake on your shirt that you took to them, then they are not responsible. They had no compassion that this was my deceased son and anyone that has lost a loved one would understand how hard it is to even look at their pictures, better yet for them to put their loved one on shirts and how disturbing this is for the store to not acknowledge any fault to the grieving person. Since this store is always commenting on the reviews that people leave, then they need to explain why there was not one apology from them at all nor, did they offer any compensation or the accountability for the mistake that they made. The solution for them is to blame the customer, even if the error was on their end. If allowed, I would not have even given one star. I will be reporting to the BBB as well. read more

Stopped by to grab some 8.5x11 printable vinyl sheets that I normally pay $1.50 from everywhere else, the owner told me his t shirt transfer sheets are $10 each. These sheets are the same size and of a less quality as the printable vinyl sheets I purchased from Aviva wholesale. I like to support local businesses but this is just horrible. read more

I walked in to check on a very simple project. I just needed one shirt with a few words, simple lettering, nothing special. I checked an online place and I had to order more than 6, then they charged me all sorts of prices and the online price was over $150! I then remembered that this place was just down the road. I had never used The Plug, heard about it and nothing but great things so off I went. He had no minimum and quality shirts. I only gave one star because ZERO STARS wasn't an option. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS STORE!!! I have patronized The Plug since 2018 but today was the day I quit! I trusted them to press transfers on shirts that I provided. I signed a waiver stating that "they are not liable for the garment for any mistakes made during printing/embroidery process". They said they will re-print/embroider any mistakes but the responsibility of replacing the shirt is on the customer. They then go on to say understand that this is the risk if you providing your own garments and them willing to print on outside garments. I could understand this waiver being valid if I provided cheap shirts that burned or something of that nature. But when YOUR EMPLOYEE IS CARELESS AND PRINTS THE TRANSFER ON THERE UPSIDE DOWN, THE CUSTOMER SHOULD NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR THAT. YOU, IN GOOD FAITH, SHOULD REPLACE THE SHIRT!! Did they do that for me? NO! They called me the day I was scheduled to pick them up and told me the shirts are ready but they missed up the other shirt so I need to bring another one. I told the associate that I should not be held liable for that, and that I needed to speak to the manager. She told me she was the manager, and I told her I need to speak to the owner, Dave. I told her he needs to call me ASAP because this is unacceptable. She told me she would try to reach him. She called me back a few minutes later and informed me that Dave is traveling and he does not have time to speak to me, and that the waiver is valid, and I need to provide my own shirts. It was at that moment that I decided this establishment will no longer get my money, and I will not patronize them. I will drive to WEST HELL before I ever have to come back in the store again. When I came to pick up my order, I just so happened to find a shirt in the same color but one size bigger. You would think they would comp me the shirt....NOPE! $4.55 is what I had to pay. Because I PRIDE MYSELF ON GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, I paid the price for the shirt. I always felt like Dave had a nasty attitude, which I attributed to me being an African-American woman, but I dealt with it because, for the most part, I received pretty good service. To have this happen to me, after all of these years is extremely disheartening, and him not taking accountability for his careless employees is what put the nail in the coffin for me. to also see that other customers have accused him of having a nasty attitude only validates what I felt about him all of these years. I'm done, and if you want great Customer Service, go elsewhere. Dave and the Plug is not the place for you. read more

Not sure how this place is still in business as the 3 times I have placed orders with them have been a nightmare. They never have anything in stock and are extremely difficult to work with!! They list items for sale on their website that are not available and refuse to refund your money for out of stock items. read more

I would give a zero if I could. We were quoted $20 and charged us $35 for tank tops and a few tshirts. 2 of us brought shirts in because the sizes were not true to size. If I could rate 0 stars that would be way more fitting. I am a resident of oak lawn, but currently staying 40 mins away due to renovations in my building. I wanted to support a local business so I reached out to them looking for two hoodies for my kids for Christmas. we communicated via email and I was informed of the price and that this needed to be paid prior to them starting on the hoodies. I sent the money and within minutes I was told they were ready. I stopped by the following day, and the owner a heavy set African American male was so damn rude! In a rude manner he told his employee that an email was never sent me stating they were ready, when I clearly had the email on my phone! I was told it was a mistake and to come back tomorrow. That was a total waste of my time and gas. I emailed them to please let me know when they are ready , they informed me they were worked on the night I stopped by so I stopped by yesterday just to be yet again let down. I was given two crappy looking TSHIRTS!!! I clearly said hoodies and paid $52!!! The employee called that rude owner and informed him and he tried telling him to tell me that they'll make them but for me to throw in $25 and I can take the shirts! Straight up ridiculous! You wasted my time not once, but twice and did the order incorrectly and you're still trying to hustle me into paying you extra for some horrible looking shirts. The quality of the shirts and the image was horrible. I understand there's issues at times with pictures transferred over to fabric , but 1.) the pictures I sent were great quality and 2.) If there was an issue why wasn't I informed. I demanded a refund and the owner tried telling his employee he'd send it later because he was driving. I refused to leave until I received my refund and immediately it was sent over. Overall a horrible experience. I would totally not recommend this place , the owner needs some lessons in customer service and also in how he treats his poor employees, which all appear to be young kids (who also deserve respect). read more

If you are purchasing in-store, CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS! I went to this store to help out a small business. The first time I came I was told I was being charged 80 something dollars for 7 masks...pretty pricey but I wanted to help contribute to the small business. Left and gave away four masks to a boy who needed it. Came back to buy 4 more and was told I was being charged 40 something. As soon as I looked at my bank statement later on today, I was in shock when I seen I was charged 95 and 54 essentially spending 15 more than I was told at the store. I called later on and they stated it was an 11% Chicago tax with no shortage of attitude. 2 women worked the counter , the owner stated they have a system, clearly no one in that store could recall it ? I gave 2 stars because the masks seem comfy and nice looking , CS sucks and so does the pricing .
