I got one of their bourbon cocktails which was a solid ok. In retrospect, I feel like at a spot called Juniper, I should have veered toward gin and would should I come again. For our starter, we adhered to our if-there's-brussels-sprouts-on-the-menu-we-must-order-them rule and got the brussels. Served with a lovely sprinkling of chevre, the brussels sprouts are a solid choice. The star of the show, though, was my main. I got the kale and eggs with salmon added (for a $9 upcharge). It was a beautiful blend of kale, bacon, pistachios, squash, and raisins with two sunny side up eggs and the added seared salmon. It was fresh and oh-so-flavorful. The service was friendly and efficient. Get to it!

She let me use her hair tide. We ordered the Bison Burger, and I was a bit hesitant about the sweet onion jam, and so I asked her to put it on the side. It was a bad decision because I put some and wow it was so delicious the meat mixed with the sweet jam went together so well. The kids' pizza was pretty big. The bread for appetizers was just right.

But that was all explained to us, so we were fine with the waits. I don't even like lasagna but because of the hype on the menu, we ordered it - as well as a pizza. The lasagna was definitely the star. It looked terrible on the plate (like it was mostly tomato sauce), but it was so light and delicious! I could not stop eating it. The pizza crust was very good. We thought they added way too many toppings (and forgot one that we asked for) but it was still pretty good. Done with some moderation, it would be excellent. The service was very well orchestrated and they communicated delays, etc. throughout the process - you can tell they are well trained. Note: The spicy honey sauce isn't spicy at all. We heard the people next to us say the same thing. Maybe they should have a regular and a spicy so they could actually have a spicy hot for those who want spicy!

Both nights we sat at the bar, and were helped by Javier who is brand new and training. The female servers training him both nights were great, helpful and attentive, while still giving him space to do his thing and learn but give him independence when appropriate. Javier was great, he was up front about being new but clearly dedicated to the business, learning the menu, and above all else, customer's having an amazing experience. He is gem and a great hiring choice by management. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the Fresno Fig burger and the truffle cheese fries both nights, medium rare and both nights were delicious and made perfectly. I also ordered an old fashioned, Eureka Sour and the seasonal Farmers Market Sour between both nights and all drinks were well made and delicious. Between both nights my partner had the bacon jalapeño burger, the bone marrow burger, truffle cheese fries, and a couple different draft beers and an old fashioned. He loved everything he had, but would specifically recommend the truffle cheese fries and the bacon jalapeño burger. Thank you Eureka Boise for continuing the tradition of Eureka being my favorite burger place, it enhanced my trip SO much. Can't wait to come back.

That is the description of what I ordered for their handmade fresh pasta rigatoni that I got. Let me just say that all these flavors that they put into one dish were absolutely amazing. I really did not think they needed to have the spinach and mushrooms. Because the lemon crema and the Gorgonzola cheese were absolute phenomenal the braze beef was just to die for. This is a very small restaurant and there's only so many tables to get. I was able to sit at the bar which Aisha was the bartender. He did an amazing job and really helped lead me to my order of ordering the rigatoni. I had a beer with dinner and I did not order dessert. If you need to go to the bathroom, there is a door that leads outside the restaurant to the bathroom the weight was a little bit long for it, and luckily a neighboring coworker was able to lead me to their bathroom. I highly recommend checking out this place just because of the handmade pasta, which was something of a unique taste because it was well worth the price

First time in Boise, Idaho, visiting for the Boise Half Marathon. I ended up dining at Alavita…read moretwice -- once to carbo-load the night before my race, and again the day after as a recovery dinner. Alavita is an upscale Italian restaurant, and I'd recommend making reservations, especially for dinner. My first visit was with a reservation for one, while my second was a walk-in where I managed to snag patio seating. On my first visit, I started with the House-Baked Focaccia, which came with truffle-honey butter. The focaccia was light, fresh, and served pre-sliced. The honey and butter combination was absolutely divine and paired wonderfully with the bread. It honestly made me wonder why more Italian restaurants don't serve something similar. For my entrée, I ordered the daily special, which I believe was a cheese tortellini with shrimp and corn in a lemon garlic sauce. It was flavorful, deceptively filling, and paired well with the focaccia. While it wasn't the best pasta I've ever had, it was a satisfying and enjoyable pre-race meal. On my second visit, I started with the fennel and arugula salad, which featured fennel-apple slaw, pistachios, rehydrated cherries, lemon, olive oil, and shaved Parmesan. I particularly enjoyed the cherries and pistachios, which added nice sweetness and crunch. Not mind-blowing, but certainly good. For my entrée, I had to try the Rigatoni: braised local beef, black garlic-truffle butter, roasted local mushrooms, spinach, pickled red onion, lemon crema, and Grana Padano. I ordered it because so many reviews mentioned it. I don't eat beef very often, so this was a bit of a treat for me. The braised beef was tender and flavorful. Interestingly, my opinion of the dish changed as I ate it. Initially, I had it around a 3.5/5, but by the end it had climbed to a 4.5/5. This might sound strange, but I found that when I slowed down, closed my eyes for a bite or two, and really focused on the flavors, the dish came together much better. The richness of the braised beef, the garlic-truffle butter, and the mushrooms became much more noticeable, and I found myself appreciating the combination more and more with each bite. For me, it was one of those dishes that rewards slowing down and savoring it. Overall, I highly recommend Alavita for Italian food in Boise. The service was friendly, the food was thoughtfully prepared, and both meals left me satisfied. The lemon garlic shrimp tortellini special made for excellent pre-race fuel, and the rigatoni was a memorable post-race meal. I went on to finish 10th overall in the Boise Half Marathon despite rainy conditions and the challenges of running at a higher elevation than I'm used to, so I was certainly grateful for the quality food beforehand. Hope to be back the next time I'm in the Boise area. Visited June 2026.

I've been coming to Crave for a while now, this was probably my tenth plus visit and the food has consistently been really good. That's what keeps us coming back. Unfortunately, this last visit missed the mark. I made a reservation and was seated in the back room next to two private parties, rather than a booth or the main dining area. The room was loud and the spot was uncomfortable. And really, who wants to have dinner with their family wedged into a party room alongside two other parties? What really stung was watching a party who came in after us get seated in the party room and then moved to a different section, but when we asked to move, we were told it'd be a 20-30 minute wait. It's also a little odd to be awkwardly squeezed into a party room in the first place. That space should be for actual parties, not for packing in reservation guests to hit max capacity. Sometimes a short wait for the right table is worth far more than being seated immediately in an uncomfortable spot, I'd have happily waited. Here's the thing: between the data they're already collecting through Resy and a little plain common sense, this should be an easy fix. They can see who's a repeat guest, what reservations are booked, and how the floor is filling up. Use it, or at minimum, just pay attention to the room and seat people thoughtfully. It's not bad enough for one or two stars; the food and overall experience have earned more goodwill than that, and servers are always top notch. But better situational awareness and common send from their host staff would go a long way. A reservation should mean something, and a marketing tip, regulars notice this stuff. A big turn off after a stressful week, I probably won't be back. If looking for a flawless experience after a stressful week, I would find another place with a more competent host staff.
