I would strongly caution anyone considering moving into this apartment complex. My experience has…read morebeen incredibly frustrating from day one.
When I signed my lease, I was told a washer and dryer would be installed and the carpet would be replaced before move-in. Neither was done. On my move-in day, not only were those promises unfulfilled, but I also walked into an apartment with a ceiling fan hanging out, damaged blinds, multiple burned-out lightbulbs, holes in the window screens, and visible water damage on the ceiling.
Since moving in, I've been dealing with a persistent flea infestation that has lasted over two months. Despite numerous treatments (both professional and my own), daily vacuuming, constant laundry, and repeated deep cleaning, the issue persists. The management has refused to offer any financial support or accountability and has outright denied that other units are experiencing the same, which I know isn't true, because I've spoken directly with neighbors who are facing similar problems.
After submitting an official complaint and formally requesting to be released from my lease without paying a termination fee, I received a dismissive letter stating that "seeing a flea does not mean there is an infestation." I followed up with a phone call to a senior-level manager, hoping to clarify the severity and persistence of the problem. Instead, I was met with a condescending and dismissive attitude. I explained that this has not been a one-off sighting, but an ongoing issue lasting nearly three months. She insisted this was "normal," citing her own vet as justification, and claimed that there was no way to prove an infestation.
I offered to have my own veterinarian speak with her directly, as he could confirm that in five years of treating my pet (who has always been on prescribed flea medication) he has never had an issue like this. My vet (as well as the property's own pest control company) explicitly stated that given the extreme steps I've taken, continued fleas are not typical. When I brought this up, the conversation deteriorated quickly. She told me I was the only person experiencing this issue, and when I said I had spoken with other residents dealing with the same thing, she called the idea of providing a list of names "childish" and said she wouldn't read a single one.
To make matters worse, she insulted my ability to care for my pet, suggesting I was not doing enough and that his medication must not be working. This is absolutely unacceptable and incredibly offensive. I proceeded to remind her of the extensive efforts I've made, including multiple professional treatments, daily vacuuming, constant laundry, and repeated deep cleaning. Her tone grew increasingly hostile, and although she attempted to walk back her comments, the damage was done. The entire interaction was unprofessional, unproductive, and frankly, upsetting. It was just another example of the lack of accountability and empathy I've experienced from this management team throughout this ordeal.
As if things weren't already bad enough, after finally sending me an official lease termination acknowledgment, outlining the final costs for prorated rent and the termination fee, they attempted to backtrack nearly a month later by trying to tack on additional charges. This was after they had already clearly documented the terms and amount owed in writing a month prior. The lack of professionalism is astounding.
In addition to all this, while they have taken steps to give the property a facelift, such as redoing the stairwell and sidewalks, tenants were given less than 24 hours' notice. This left little time to prepare, especially for pet owners, as we could not enter or exit our units for extended periods during the work. When I asked the sidewalk crew if it was safe for my dog afterward, they said yes. He ended up with tar stuck to his paws that had to be cut out.
Overall, this place has been a series of broken promises, safety concerns, and a complete lack of responsibility from management. I would not recommend living here.
