Our modern spring bouquet arrangement and boutonnière are breathtaking! I don't like anything traditional as I was even hesitant getting these, but Julia did really great. We were nervous at first since the previous local shop in Santa Barbara we were considering was not responding to my emails... Found Poppy Pod thru another florist who was not available on our day. So lucky I did! Julia responded urgently.. we had a little over a week before the "big day". I am quite specific as I'm not a flower person, sent her a list of my descriptors including color palette and flower preference, suffice to say, she nailed it. All we had to do was pick it up from her studio which is 10mins away from the courthouse, where the elopement took place. Julia did the florals for our wedding in May 2025 and she was incredible. I am very particular and typically have no trouble coming up with a critique for aesthetics, but I have NO NOTES. I truly couldn't ask for more beautiful, elegant florals for our wedding. We stayed at the El Encanto Belmond, and even the staff there said they hadn't seen such beautiful arrangements, and they see a lot of flowers! I also appreciated that Julia worked with us at the scoping stage to adjust the order so that we could reduce costs to fall within our budget, while also keeping with our original vision. Hi Julia, For further clarification, the ground arrangements at the alter were not set up in alignment with the center aisle of the chairs nor the arch of building. The chairs were correctly centered with the arch. The flowers were all the way to the left and placed about 15 feet behind the stairs which is far from the ceremony set up. read more

I shared some inspo photos with Julia and she delivered a bridal bouquet that was beyond my wildest dreams!!! It was even more beautiful than the inspiration photos I'd sent her - everyone was obsessed with it and said it was the most beautiful bridal bouquet they'd ever seen too! She also created a really fun boutonniere for my husband upon request, so it looked like flowers were growing out of his pocket. Great find for our wedding. We were on a tight budget and Julia worked with us to create a beautiful bouquet and arrangements for our wedding. She really gave good suggestions and made sure to check in with me to ensure it matched my vision. The only snag was the day of she was not the one to help set up everything and had her two helpers instead. Which worked out I just didn't know up front. I hired Julia over a year before my wedding based on all her wonderful yelp reviews. I told her that roses were my least favorite flower and if she had to do roses it would be a very little amount as filler. I met with Julia over zoom a little over a month before my wedding and reminded her again about the roses. I also decided during that meeting that I did not want hydrangeas in the bouquet. I sent a follow up email just to clarify no hydrangeas. When it came to my wedding day and the bouquets and arch was dropped off and set up I was so disappointed. The bride bouquet was full of hydrangeas and roses as well as the maid of honor bouquets and the the arch. It was everything I did not want and explained that I did not want. The corsages and boutonnière were also roses. When I reached out she said she had to use that many roses and that the other blue flowers didn't look good that came and she had to use the hydrangeas. She didn't even consult with me for my special day what I wanted and chose the exact flower I said I didn't want. She gave me a 25% for just the arch and the bridal bouquet even though everything was wrong. read more

I had the best experience working with Julia and was SO happy with the flower crown she made me! I had a small, casual destination wedding in Santa Barbara so I did all of the planning and research remotely.
