The person taking my order tried to upsell me at every step, not telling me what things cost and nothing outside of the drink was labeled anywhere. Like the price of syrup and the cold foam was not clearly shown anywhere. Again at every step, the person taking my order tried to get me to pay for a 20oz without telling me, offered me cold foam without telling me about the pricy upcharge. I was so convinced that i heard her wrong because that price for one drink is ridiculous that I paid it. Also I heard that the owner takes all the tips meant for the workers.

They are known for almond patties, which are flaky, buttery pockets filled with almond paste. You can buy these frozen to bake at home or fresh. They also have delicious cinnamon rolls and very pretty frosted cookies and cakes. I have fond memories of this bakery and am glad to see it's thriving and now even ships its baked goods!

OK, this review is just for beef-lovers, all others should hide their eyes and read something else…read more Some years ago, we visited friends who live in Colorado Springs and have a place on Lake Okoboji. We drove from Colorado and pulled into town at dinnertime. On the grill was various cuts of beef from Forbes, each more tender and flavorful as the previous. Simply melt in the mouth good. Roll the clock three or four years and, lo and behold, they (being true friends) presented me with two NY strips imported from Forbes as a birthday present. All I can say is that that they were as good as I remember the first time I had meat from Forbes. Simply outstanding. Salt, cracked pepper, a little oil and cook in a flaming hot cast iron pan. Fantastic, barely needed a knife. So, there you have the sum total of my experience with Forbes. Twice up to the plate (sorry for the pun), twice hit out of the park.
