Really disappointed with our recent visit to The Post at Lamar Park. The food and service felt incredibly inconsistent from start to finish. We ordered two deviled eggs and one came out without the bacon, which kind of set the tone for the rest of the meal. The Bloody Mary, which they're supposedly known for, is now a batch cocktail and you can absolutely tell. It lacked flavor, spice, and even basic seasoning. It also didn't come with the celery, bacon, or pickled onions that used to make it stand out. It was mid at best. The barbacoa tacos were also underwhelming. They weren't very filled and lacked flavor overall. Service unfortunately didn't help the experience either. We had to remind our waitress about the Big Reds that were supposed to come with the meal, and they didn't arrive until I was already halfway done eating. We also had to flag down another employee just to get steak knives for the people eating steak and eggs. Honestly, I won't be going back. It's pretty telling that a restaurant that used to be packed is now barely half full. The quality just doesn't seem to match the reputation anymore. read more

My wife and I decided to have Sunday brunch here. It was a happening place and really loud! We were promptly seated, around 10:30 AM, but we were told we would need to leave by 12:30 PM. I mean to be honest, that mostly depends on the pace of service. lol We started with just a couple of cups of coffee and ordered a Brisket Hash and an Omlette. Both were under seasoned and just bland. The "Brisket" Hash was pretty much just roasted potatoes... missing the peppers and onion... and had (2) 1 inch cubes of brisket. One of which was just gristle! I ordered it with poached eggs and those were cooked perfectly. Calling it Brisket Hash, you're expecting way more brisket. The omelette was prepared incorrectly, not how my wife ordered it... and it lacked seasoning. It was supposed to have bacon but it had brisket instead. Hers had plenty of brisket and honestly, I didn't miss much by only having a little bit in my order, it didn't have any smoked brisket flavor at all and was pretty much flavorless. It came with the same homestyle potatoes. The did have a very impressively stocked bar, with some great bourbons but it was way too early for that. Their cocktails might be great but be prepared to be underwhelmed by their food. We were just in town to visit family but next time... hard pass for us on The Post. read more

The waitress was very kind and clearly doing her best, but unfortunately the service timing during Sunday brunch was very slow. It took about 25 minutes to get our drink order taken and another 15 minutes before our food order was taken. The drinks were phenomenal and definitely the highlight of the experience. The food, however, was a bit underwhelming. The barbacoa tacos arrived cold, and the avocado toast could use some improvement , it was served on plain sandwich bread that was not toasted with one very small egg and diced tomatoes. Using toasted sourdough and fresh cherry tomatoes could really elevate the dish. The last dish to come out was a simple fruit plate for our niece, which was surprising considering how basic the order was. This place clearly attracts a lot of out-of-town visitors because of its great reputation, so management may want to consider adding more staff during busy brunch hours to better support the servers and overall guest experience. read more

Just left the restaurant . The food was great and we have no complaints we sat near the bar and got quite a show. We sat down for at least 10 minutes until the server said he will be with us shortly. In additional 5 minutes he came up he seemed quiet disoriented and confused. The Paloma we ordered he said it was an expresso martini coming back to ask what it was again. We were sitting there at the end with no water since our food got there. He and another server were chugging from straws what looked like a mule sitting on the bar mat. This gem of a place was made known to be by a coworker and I'm still dreaming about the lobster Mac & Cheese. We came on a Monday evening and it wasn't too busy so we were able to be seated immediately. I started off with a French 75 cause why not and some crab cakes to start. My drink was perfection not everyone knows how to make a good 75. My crab cakes were delicious I have no complaints. My friend did start with the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls. I had one and while it was tasty I know I couldn't eat more than that once piece cause it was super salty. Now the star of the show is the lobster Mac & Cheese. It didn't look like your typical Mac and cheese but when I took a bite I was blown away. Perfectly seasoned and cheesy and they didn't skimp on the lobster either. Overall great experience. Food, drinks and customer service was a 10/10. I would definitely be back. read more

I've eaten at this place so many times lunch brunch and dinner. I need to post about the post more when i'm visiting corpus christi. The drinks are typically well made. The food is off the charts. I love the collaboration and cool texture. Next time I go into this establishment I will take a picture of the patio that they added a few years back. It's a half year to year visit personally. The service was on point forgot to get his name. Usually with restaurants in a small city like this, After about 3-5 years, they tend to loser value and don't pick up. This is one of those restaurants that stay consistent and continues to grow close to downtown. With good service and neat food. Always a recommendation for people that visit. Located in a nice shopping center. My visit was a few weeks back i 23rd of march. I'm gonna crave that branch, your breakfast pizza. The texture, the quality, let's just Unforgettable. I was in the area for work, looking for a good, easy dinner on a Tuesday around 7:30 in the evening. After reading the reviews, I decided to give The Post a try. Pulling into the parking lot, it appeared to be a neighborhood bar - looks can be deceiving. The lobster mac & cheese was so full of lobster, I ate almost no mac and cheese (Check out my photo - this is one of many large chunks of lobster!). The service was friendly, fast and accurate. The general atmosphere had a cheerful buzz without being overwhelming. I felt comfortable, enjoyed the dinner and feel fortunate to have discovered this gem in Corpus Christi. Pretty cool place for a Sunday Brunch. Sitting at the bar, otherwise it's a lengthy wait at 11:30 on a Sunday. We've got a fruit plate, brisket hash, and a BYO omelet on the way. If the jalapeño deviled eggs sound good, better get here early- they were sold out of them by 11 (and they only open at 10!) Full stocked bar (and I mean FULL- it takes up an entire wall and even has a small library of cocktail books!) with two giant TVs playing the day's sportsball over head. Kinda neat to watch the bartenders work- just saw a giant square ice cube in a wine glass with white wine poured over it- on its way out to the patio (super smart to keep it chilled, seeing that the real feel is already 109* this morning). (Btw- no decaf coffee here either. Suspicious, but I'm not pressing it) So. I can see why there's a LOT of carafes of mimosas being served. The wait for food is lengthy, hopefully worth it, but lengthy. And sipping a cocktail while you wait would surely make the wait not seem so long. (We're getting close to half an hour since our order went in, just FYI) Starting to wonder if the food is going to make up for the wait... going on 40 minutes since we put in our order. (And? The single guy beside us? Who sat down AFTER we ordered? Has already gotten his breakfast, eaten, and left before we got our food) So, about 50 minutes and one of the bartenders just checked in on us(for the first time), offering excuses/blaming the kitchen for being backed up and running slow. I'll give them some small. credit- they did say the kitchen was running behind when we ordered, but honestly? If your kitchen is nearly an HOUR behind, you should warn customers before they order. Ok. So. Food arrived, nearly an hour in. My hash needed a healthy dose of salt, and the amount of brisket was slim (the potatoes are what you'd expect from a hotel buffet). Hubs I let was FLAVORFUL and delish- it outshone my breakfast in a huge way. The fruit plate was laughable. $10 for just a few thin slices of watermelon and honeydew, with raspberries that has seen better days. If it was based on the food alone, it's a low 4 stars. If it's based on the bartenders hustle? 10/10 Those guys were working their asses off! But the kitchen. And the wait. They just couldn't recover from it. We'd be really hard pressed come back here again next time we're in town. read more

I've visited The Post multiple times and have always had a great experience, this time was no exception! Service was fast and friendly. It was busy for a Saturday evening but everything came out promptly and hot. The Post gives an upper scale sports bar vibe which I enjoy. I'd definitely recommend getting the Fried Brussel Sprouts, they're sweet and savoury and they're my favorite Brussel sprouts I've had at any restaurant that I've tried. I'd also recommend topping your tacos with their street corn, the tacos are great on their own but the corn just adds a little extra! My only complaint of this place is that their main entree list consist of mostly only burgers and they don't provide much choice outside of that for a main meal which is why I ordered the tacos off their appetizer list. But if you're in the mood for a burger you won't be disappointed by this place - the portion sizes are huge! read more

Went here for brunch with a party of 8. Took over 30 minutes to just be seated, a table had become available and could obviously fit 8 people but the servers refused to sit us there. Eventually they sat us and took our food/drink order. When ordering our drinks they did not have sweet tea so the server brought out unsweet tea for my son; common sense/courtesy would be to ask if he would like sugar packets since he wanted SWEET tea. We asked for diet dr. pepper and then AGAIN were told they do not have it (we were not offered any other options but had to guess what diet options they had) We placed our order and AGAIN they did not have chicken and waffles FOR BRUNCH. Were not offered to get our menu back/other options to place a different order so one of us just sat there without food. Plates came out one at a time, no utensils or napkins were provided to us; I had to hunt down the server multiple times to get not only that, but to ask for refills on drinks/hot sauce/sugar packets for sweet tea etc. Food was cold, had absolutely no flavor, brisket tastes frozen and gummy. HORRIBLE service, food sucks, rude servers/hostesses - all of them were on their phones as soon as you walk in. Not greeted at the door or told anything once we left. I would have left no tip but was forced to since the $9 gratuity that was automatically added to my $55 receipt. Spending this much, I would rather have gone to El Camino/Fridas/Gallery 41 had I known this place was such a sh!t show. Also, way too loud; the music is blaring which makes it hard to speak to anyone. Will not be coming back. I suggest you don't either. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Tons of other local downtown brunch spots that are so much better than this place. read more

The Post (at Lamar Park) is probably as close as you'll get to a trendy more upscale (but not too much) cocktail bar and restaurant. Something more prevalent in bigger cities. It's a great place. Sit inside or out - nice either way. Pretty diverse and cool crowd here, a lot of that driven by location, and also by its presence. Supposedly they have great cocktails, but have never tried them. The food is awesome. They have great steaks and other American fare that would be appetizing to just about anyone. Solid service here too. Another plus is they do not really do live music. It is so refreshing to not be subjected to that in Corpus! read more

Continued to get recommendations to check out The Post. Finally stopped in on a Tuesday night. There were three of us. We were greeted right away at the front door and were able to snag a table outside. The place was fairly busy for a week night. They have a full bar and plenty of tables. Our server was fantastic. Gave plenty of recommendations on the menu and told us about many different drink options as well. I order the Cedar Plank Salmon with Parmesan Orzo. This is new for the menu and the server said it was one of the best items they have. I couldn't agree more. The salmon was cooked to perfection and had so much flavor! We will absolutely be back to try additional items on the menu. If you have not yet been here, I'd recommend doing so. read more

This place was great! I was in town with a couple of coworkers for a conference and this place was recommended to us. The ambiance is super chill and comfortable and staff was very friendly. While they do no have a happy hour, there was a drink special ($7 margaritas). There was also an extensive cocktail list/food menu. Each of us ordered an "appetizer" to share, as well as an individual entree. The food came out quickly, was very delicious, and the portions were huge. Appetizers we ordered: -Brussels sprouts (a HUGE bowl, enough for 3 to share and still some to take home) -truffle Parmesan fries (an even bigger bowl, plenty to share with multiple people) -bacon wrapped duck bites (definitely enough to share with several) For dinner, two of us ordered the ahi tuna tacos (four small ones, perfectly seared), and one ordered the salmon (a good portion and perfectly cooked). The appetizers were definitely our favorite on the menu. Entrées and brunch on the other hand can take a pass. Our first time here we came for Sunday brunch. We didn't know that Sundays were strictly for brunch, but that didn't deter us from trying out the items on the menu. To start, we got the smoked salmon spread and the deviled eggs. The salmon spread was good with the toasted sliced bread. The deviled eggs were good as well, I loved the to slight taste of truffle and the heat from the sliced jalapeño. My husband ordered the Closed On Sunday breakfast sandwich per our waiter's recommendation. He didn't enjoy it, he said the biscuit was dry and it fell apart just as fast as he tried to pick it up and bite it. I got the Barbacoa Tacos and it was pretty tasty, especially the pickled red onion. We then came to try out the regular menu, and it did not disappoint when it came to the appetizers. We got the Parmesan Truffle Fries, Smoked Pork Belly, and the Philly Cheese Egg Rolls. All were amazing! All of these were really delicious choices. For our entrées, on two separate occasions we got the Beef Center Street Tacos, Cobb Salad, and the Heisenburger. The tacos were good, definitely tasted like the tacos from brunch which isn't a bad thing. The Cobb salad was actually surprisingly tasty. Loved the peppercorn dressing and they are not scarce on the toppings. My only complaint was the boiled eggs tasted a little rubbery. My husband said the burger was okay, it wasn't something to rave about, just a simple burger. I also ordered a cocktail and our waitress recommended the Let's Get Tropical. It was a very good choice! The was so excited to see it was topped with popping boba. Yummy. Overall, you can literally get full off of the appetizers. My husband said the eggs rolls itself would be his main meal next time we go. This has become one of my favorite date night spots in town! read more

We were in town visiting and we came here twice because it was that good! The staff is beyond nice and helpful. We loved all the meals we got. I highly recommend the Fish and Chips or the Grilled Chicken A.B.C. Everything came out cooked perfectly and hot. I loved every cocktail I got and they are all made differently which is fun because you never know what you are going to get. Plenty of TVs so it's a great place to watch any game! Excellent place for a date night or happy hour. Center street tacos were delicious, perfectly cooked filet inside. The lobster mac n cheese was an excellent sized portion but it was VERY heavy on the cheese , took away from the lobster flavor, probably wont order it next time. A group of my friends and I came here for a relaxing time to enjoy a couple of drinks and food. The lights started to dim as the evening continued and the music became much louder. Another 10 minutes later someone came to ask if we wanted something from the bar, after that we had to grab him to order food and once the food came we didn't see him again until we asked for the check, I got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was pink and chewy, I'll give a star because they did remove the meal from the bill and the coffee was good. Hey there yesterday shortly after it opened. The wife had a pizza breakfast and the dough was not cooked all the way through. It was room temperature when it came out. I had French toast with eggs and bacon. The French toast was very thin and firm And only room temperature and the syrup which I requested came out cold. The bacon slices were very small and overcooked. The eggs were cooked as I ordered, but less in room temperature. Would not go back. read more

We were in town visiting friends and on our last day before heading to the airport, we decided to stop by The Post at Lamar Park for one final hurrah. It was Sunday, so of course we had to brunch. Our server was pretty nice, cracked jokes, and seemed to be very honest when we asked what he recommended. He pointed out a few items that he "wouldn't let us" order - I guess they were that bad? He also pointed out a few of his favorites and some of the most popular items. We ordered a couple of apps for the table to share and they were both very good. Our server emphasized the freshness of their craft cocktails and so, naturally, I tried a couple. I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the Mango + Cash. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch was not good at all, in my opinion, and I would have not ordered it had I known. The Mango + Cash wasn't bad but it didn't blow me away either. My boyfriend ordered the Grand Slam Shot, which to me sounded kinda gross but he said it was pretty good. It consists of a shot of Jameson + butterscotch, followed by a shot of OJ, and chased with a piece of bacon. My friends ordered a mimosa carafe which they also said was pretty good. For my entree, I ordered the Steak & Eggs. The steak was cooked pretty well and as requested, but it didn't blow me away. I don't remember what everyone else at the table ordered but I don't think there were any complaints. Overall, this is a pretty good spot and I'd come back. Just not my favorite! read more
