Updated June 2026 Years ago I gave this place a well-deserved 1 star review. I posted pictures that got a lot of negative attention. I had no intention of ever returning. Fast forward to today. I've seen some recent social media and an ad in the bend of the update and wanted to give it a try. It did NOT disappoint. The atmosphere, decor, service, drinks, food, and price point were all excellent. The drinks were great, the coconut shrimp may be the best in town. So this joint has more of a bar feel and atmosphere to start with. So if you're going just for food this is something to keep in mind. Everyone was very friendly here. We did go just to eat before an event. Food came out in a very normal timeframe. We ordered a classic burger that was good, a Loganlit burger which had great flavor with a spicy sauce, and the fried pickle/curds which also were yummy. I was in town for a little staycation and found this hidden gem. The staff was friendly and awesome. I ordered the beef and chicken tacos with a side of guacamole and they did not disappoint. They were tasty and fresh. There was live music and the regulars were super friendly. Definitely a great place to visit. A second visit to check out open mic night introduced me to the pork tacos and waffle fries with a homemade aoli sauce that was amazing. The chef came out and chatted with us about their fresh ingredients and their menu options. Definitely worth a visit. read more

When I come to Corpus Christi, I never really expect a lot out of the food. However the exchange food and quality is phenomenal. I've been to about 50 different wing places as that is kind of my thing and they are top-tier. The hamburgers were also delicious. Kyle is the head cook and just killed it tonight. The wings were crispy and delicious. The ambience was very cool, with interesting art throughout the restaurant and many instagramable picture opportunities. Love this place! It just feels comfortable as soon as you walk in. The entire menu sounds delicious. I've had the cheeseburger with bacon and egg on it, the chili and the Cuban sandwich. All were wonderful. And the staff makes sure you feel welcome and appreciated. This is also a music venue. Unfortunately they start at 9:00. Way too late for me. I'm really confused. Usually, after a beer festival, you'd figure you'd have the munchies and scarf anything in sight. Uhm yeah. No, bro. Not here. Between 5 of us, of all the things we ordered, everything was pretty much left on the plate and reluctantly took it home. We had the chicken wrap, bacon avocado grilled cheese, Cajun grilled shrimp taco and the loaded fries. The fries were the "best" of all three. The fries were warm at best and looked like they werent really fried but frozen fries that were microwaved. For the avocado bacon grilled cheese, I neither tasted the avocado nor the bacon - it was like biting into mayo sandwich filled with a slice of Krafft singles. The Cajun grilled shrimp taco - idk wth that was but it was definitely not Cajun; they served a slightly crispy flour tortillas filled with shrimp, black beans and pico(?). The chicken wrap was just terrible, almost old and dry. We all took a bite to confirm and after each bite, looked at each other that yeah, this was pretty bad (but it looks pretty!). All the flavors were off on everything. Not sure who was in the kitchen that night. While their beer selection on paper was decent, the reality was they carried 4 of 5 beers we ordered that Saturday night. Not a fan. read more

Seriously this place is off the hook and I'm embarrassed it has taken so long to visit. Everything is homemade and fresh. Ranch, fried pickles, cornbread and literally everything else. I've been to the Exchange twice already. I have to say that I was quite impressed with the all you can eat Sunday Brunch. There was a great selection to choose from in which we tried a variety of good food. Made To Order Omelette ***** Cooked to perfection Smoked Salmon ***** Amazing! Snow Crab Legs ***** Yesss! Shrimp & Polenta ***** First time having this but it was pretty great. Bananas Foster French Toast *** Nothing special about this but still pretty good. Sausage and Potatoes **** Eggs Benedict ** - There wasn't enough hollandaise sauce and the hashbrowns were overcooked. May want to lower the heat and slowly increase it, when cooking these on a hot plate. The presentation was still pretty great. Biscuits and Sausage Gravy **** Basic but still really good. Who doesn't like biscuits and gravy? Sirloin Steak and Glazed Ham with Brown Sugar from the Carving Station*** Nothing special. The mimosas hit the spot as well. It just so happened that I ended up alone in Corpus Christi on New Year's Eve. I read an article about the 10 best places to celebrate NYE, and thought, what the heck, looks like a nice venue, bragging about all the beers they have, $75 gets me dinner and "bottomless wine, beer and champagne". Upon arriving, I am immediately charged $3 for a draft. "Oh, we only have that keg of Bud Draft included, nothing else." I have a screenshot from their website. Nothing is mentioned about only Bud Light. I guess there was equally lousy wine to swill down. I waited for thirty minutes at a long table with strangers. Felt like a wedding of some distant relative. No food. Several passes by wait staff for drink orders. Most folks seemed to eager to get up sold, and purchased better drinks. As the food finally appears, the smell is not good. I left. $75 for a glass of Bud light. Where I come from such a practice is called BAIT AND SWITCH. Even when I pointed this out, they could not be shamed into an honest business practice. They should be ashamed to act in a way that makes them look like liars and cheats. I plan on telling everyone I know who has anything to do with Corpus, craft beer, music or lousy food masquerading as tasty. read more

I stumbled upon this cute place across the Corpus Christi Cathedral. The set up is very interesting I thought. The bar, the restaurant, and when you order your dessert is own by different people but all sharing the same building and one check. The decors are art works by local artists that you can possibly buy. Every night after 9pm is open mic as well. I was pretty excited to see their menu. I opted to try their bacon corn bread pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious. The service was also outstanding. read more

Great for brunch and app/drinks around dinner time. Staff and atmosphere are great. Entrees were underwhelming the one time we ate there. Usually has drink specials at brunch which make for a good Sunday Funday. Sometimes have music in the front dinning area which can be a little loud and difficult to have a conversation if you're with a large group. I think we'd all like to be annoyed by little things like that now. Can not wait to go back when the lock-down is lifted. A very modern feel like you'd find 2-3.5 hours north of Corpus. read more

Salad was brought with cheese, when I asked for it to be removed. They brought out a new salad, and it was really delicious. Me and my friend came here for the first time visiting out of town .our waiter was awesome to let us know the top favs and specials and bar and music they had going. We got to try a sample of the fresh ice cream which was delicious just was to full from our entree and mimosas .he had no problem with letting my friend try a sauce before her ordering the entree and me trying the soup from the all you can eat buffet . Anyways she ended up loving her food . Food quality is fresh but my shrimp tacos flavor was just a little off .it is a little pricey for the portions but they also have charging ports at the tables ! Let's start with the good...the food tasted good (probably some of the best we've had while visiting Corpus), relaxed atmosphere, and friendly staff. We stopped in last Tuesday night and it happened to be $1 street tacos (pork or beef). Yep, you read that correctly. A buck a taco and both options were good. We also tried the fried cheese curds (very good) and the sector fries (good, but not great). Happy hour prices were good and so was the selection at the bar. Now for the bad and it this was really bad...it took FOREVER for our food to come out. They were not busy at all and we waited almost 40 minutes for our second round of tacos to arrive. The waiter apologized several times for the wait, but it was painfully long. We'll probably go back, but definitely not if we're in any type of hurry. read more

Thanksgiving 2018 - My 2nd visit to The Exchange - The service, as far as the waitstaff and hostess, could be improved. Upon arriving there was some confusion over where they could seat us (we called the day before to ask if we needed to make reservations, we were told no, however, apparently they had taken reservations for the day but had stopped before we called - this is not how it was explained when we had called the day before). Our waitress wasn't as attentive as I would have liked - twice we had to wait for drink refill requests, at which point I began slowing down on my wine which I would have ordered a 2nd glass had I thought our waitress would make it back before we finished dinner. All that said, the meal for the day was served buffet style and the serving staff was engaging and made us feel at home. Servings of wild hog, pork loin, prime rib, sliced turkey (as well as Turkey legs for those brave enough) and chicken marsala were offered as main courses. Sides included both sweet and mashed potatoes, Turkey gravy, mac n cheese, green beans, roasted root veggies (these were awesome!) and TWO kinds of stuffing! A salad and soup bar was available but we filled ourselves with entrees, sides and desserts! Oh desserts! Delicious pecan pie, possibly the best I've ever had! TWO kinds of cheesecake - one chocolate cherry and one banana pudding - hubby said they were both amazing! A unique take on bread pudding which had an orange zest flavor that caught me off guard but wasn't bad, just different for me. All in all, I'd go back for a holiday feast like this, especially considering the price which was incredibly reasonable at $25/person! Friendly staff, food was okay- bar food, but I did really enjoy the free pulled pork taco. It was huge! Totally appreciated that. As well my favorite part of my meal was the fried pickles and cheese curds served with ranch. Poutine burger slider was not what I was expecting and was not good. The Exchange should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Corpus Christi. It's big space that is doing interesting things downtown. The food is a big draw, with Chef Tony pumping out some creative stuff form the kitchen. I like Tuesday for the all-you-can-eat tacos, but their regular menu variety is equally delicious. Speaking of Tuesdays, they have daily specials on drinks, too. Wine on Wednesdays, that sort of thing. It's a definite draw, and a real value. They do a good job of featuring local beers, if that's your thing. There's an upstairs space, and a downstairs space, with a bar spot. I've spent most of my time in the down stairs area, near the music and bar. It's really nice, and the staff has been good to me; friendly and accommodating. It's a great place to hang out and listen to live music, and there are regular events held here that keep the crowd something of a surprise any time you pop in. read more

I was very excited to try this place. It seemed like a cool concept and the menu looked promising. We had a group of ten people out celebrating my birthday and it was a big let down. First let me say the actual atmosphere and aesthetic is pretty cool and laid back. The service was unbelievably slow. We wanted to just grab dinner and a couple drinks and move on with the night. But the service was so slow that we were there for almost 3 hours! The food was good once we got it but we waited far too long and over 20 mins for one round of drinks. Then once we had our food, some people were missing items and those items didn't come out for another half an hour or not at all. On top of the poor service the Polynesian dancers that were performing completely took over the restroom. It was to the point where you could barely walk in there and they had costumes and props all over the floor and counter. In my opinion there should be another changing area or just no costume changes. We probably won't return but if we do I would maybe try just sitting at the bar. The beer list was pretty solid and maybe this place just can't handle large parties. read more
