Helicopter (war machine) out front. Thank you for your service

A VFW Post where the public is welcome for breakfast or lunch. I'm reading The Women, by Kristin Hanna (women in the Vietnam War) and the irony of the coincidence does not escape me. Waitress very busy but also very fast. We ordered cheeseburgers with fries. Family friendly and all ages. Nice lunch. The war machine out front is an awesome display

Stopped in with my wife for dinner as it was within walking distance of the Burlington RVPark and we had a very long day on the road. It appears that the post leased out their canteen area. They seem to be making a fairly good business. Good for the post trying to think out of the box and maintain financial stability. Definitely different price points from this over a regular post canteen. That said, my Ruben was absolutely delicious and my wife enjoyed her grilled cheese. I thought the salad bar was very good even though I'm not a fan. Our waitress did a terrific job keeping on top of everything! Thank You!

This is such a hidden gem along the highway, you won't be disappointed. The parking lot was packed and the restaurant seemed to be mostly filled by friendly locals. Everyone seats yourself and the waitress came over to greet us right away. If you are looking for good ole' quality comfort food, this is the place for you. If you are on a fancy diet or need a low calorie healthy fare, maybe you won't find many selections? All of our lunches were as described and very tasty. We especially loved the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. I really loved all the photos on the walls of local Vets. "Thank you all for your service"!

The most delicious breakfast for miles around. Restaurants take note: this selection of coffee creamer is fire!

This is an alcohol free VFW. Seeing that it was a VFW, my man thought he had scored a respite and a cold one away from the old lady. Too bad for him. Anyway, the food is really good. I had the basket of shrimp with fries and my man had the chicken fried steak. The helicopter is an added bonus.

We stopped in From vacation. There are not very many options for a long time in the area. The outside was inviting with the helicopter out front. They had prime rib and ri. No for the specials. We chose to split the prime rib. I thought it looked like a ribeye with prime seasoning . Another special was the cheesy vegetable. I'm sure they took canned broccoli cheese soup and added carrots, cauliflower and zucchini, but it was my favorite of the meal. I left the sweet potato fries uneaten. They were limp and soggy. The hubs mashed potatoes and gravy were tasty. I wish I had gotten those instead. The margarita was perfect and as well, the California Bull cocktail. Nicole was our waitress and she was very attentive to our needs

This restaurant is our go-to-place for breakfast in town. Recent months there has been a tremendous uptick in food quality. The chicken friend steak is homemade and has the best breading.

The breakfast plate I ordered with hash browns, bacon, biscuits and gravy, with two eggs over easy.

I stopped in Burlington for an overnight on my way to Nebraska. While checking out of the local Marriott they recommended this place for breakfast. Plenty of parking and clearly seen from the main street. I was quickly seated and poured a glass of hot coffee. The menu was diverse and had some local favorites. I went with two eggs, one biscuits and gravy, hash browns and bacon selection. Total price was only 9.89. The entire meal was delicious, especially the gravy. Just the right amount of spice. The staff was super friendly, and after chatting about spicy food. The waitress brought me a sample of their green hatch chili. Super tasty and would order a bowl. Also their restrooms were clean and well attended. This local place is a favorite and should be on your plans to stop.

My pancakes were good, but they charged me $7 to add chocolate chips ($2.50) and pecans ($4.50) to a short stack. That's insane!

A gentleman at a local gas station suggested here; said they had great food. He was right. It's not much to look at from the outside and easy to miss, but look for it. The food was worth it. My husband had the farmhouse omelet and I think it had everything in it. It came with some of the best hash browns I've ever tasted and a green chile gravy that was excellent. He all but licked his plate clean. My daughter and I shared the green chile enchiladas which came with rice and beans. We ate all 4 enchiladas and the beans (not fans of Spanish rice, so I'm afraid we didn't even taste it). My son ordered the shrimp basket which came with fries and he ate all of his shrimp and I helped him finish his fries. Not his choice, but hard to tell mom no. The dining room is decorated in a cute farmhouse/cowboy decor. My daughter and I enjoyed it (girl thing). Our server was excellent and the prices can't be beat. Great food, good prices, and terrific service. If you are looking for a place to eat in Burlington, we highly suggest the Farm Grill & Restaurant.

We didn't come because of bathroom ratings, but those reviewers that mentioned the poor bathrooms understated conditions: There was not toilet paper or paper towels. Not good. I had the prime rib sandwich with tater tots. As I said, the tater tots were good. But the prime rib sandwich was much too spicy for my tastes. I ate it anyway because I was hungry. It did have Sriracha sauce so I probably should've avoided it. I love prime rib, but this was just OK. Not a super generous portion, and not something I would order again. My sister had the shrimp taco special and did like them. Shrimp were fried. My dad had a small burger and tater tots and did enjoy it. If you're in Oakley passing through as we were, I would skip this place and go with Sonic for food. Of course the owners / proprietors can't control this, but there was a loud and profane group of 4 young men at the bar (at 1:30 PM, we were there for lunch) who used the F word every third word. That situation normal for many bars. I'm sure. I'm just saying this isn't a place I would bring small children. Two of five stars because of the friendly service.
