Honestly, it's pretty good! On my drive from Denver, CO to Colby, KS on I-70, I stopped in for something good, and in my experience, these roadside diners are good. They have fed hungry motorists and truckers for decades, so they know how to get good food in your belly at a reasonable price point. The service is good and friendly so that helps make a meal great. The ambience is interesting with the Cadillac and other automotive memorabilia on display. There are plenty of things to see, so take them all in. You cannot miss the elevated Cadillac which is your signal to pull over and rest, while enjoying something tasty and filling. Enjoy! read more

Delicious stop for lunch on our way back home from the mountains. I've never had Georgian food before and the cheese bread and cabbage roll stuffed pepper was amazing. This isn't your average highway diner. This location has been purchased and now run by a family from the country Georgia. It is family run and operated. With the standard diner fare sprinkled with authentic food, including baklava, schnitzel and others. Service was extremely friendly. Prices are reasonable. Parking is plentiful. There is a rivian supercharger and an electrify America charger just outside. Gas station is just across the road. Try it you will not regret stopping! This place could be a jem. But the owners seem to be trying the make an iconic 50's American diner into something totally different. The atmosphere is WAY off. You'd expect to hear Buddy Holly whaling behind the piano over the speakers, but silence. You'd expect to see memorabilia like Route 66 signs yet your met with paintings that don't fit. The menu is Lacking, a few burgers and cheese bread pizza, some salads and mozzarella cheese sticks. The sweet tea wasn't sweet at all but bitter, and watered down. I was actually sad to see what was being done here, and to see what's clearly being ignored. There was one waitress, and a cook. The meal was okay at best, I've had much worse. I ordered the Bar-B-Que bacon burger, it was okay, but the flair of the iconic 50's diner was not at all present inside. Outside you get the feel of an old Route 66 diner, inside it all falls short of that. I can see why business isn't good. A better more full menu with more options, a change in the ambiance. Add some milkshakes, and a good old 50's American diner attitude and you'd need extra parking. read more

We stopped to charge our car, and stepped into the diner intending to get a quick snack. When we sat down, and looked at the menu, we were excited to see it full of unique and authentic Georgian food. Borscht, Khachapuri, Baklava, and so many more items we were so excited to try. Everything was fantastic, and something I've never tried before, and we ordered half the menu. They also have burgers and fries and 'normal' diner food. An unexpected treasure in a small, eastern Colorado farming town. I really wanted to like this restaurant but it was absolutely awful! It took almost 30 minutes from the time the first plate arrived at our table until the last person received their food. So by the time the last person was able to eat everyone else's order was cold. Then the last plate came out with cold fries! The chicken fingers were so overcooked they were hard as a rock! I will say the owner was very nice and remade the chicken but by that time we were all done eating and had to get back on the road. We paid over $100 dollars for a meal that would have been better from the local gas station! read more

Burgers were very tough and dry. You order and pay in advance and they ask you to tip in advance. I am a generous tipper so I tipped 20%, but the service was absolutely not worthy of the tip. I will not tip in advance ever again. I do not recommend this place and will never go back. read more

Not gourmet by any means, but we were absolutely starving and there are not too many options for food this far out in Eastern Colorado. Cute old school looking diner. I enjoyed my sliders, my mom had a grilled cheese with tomato, and my dad had the chicken club. We all were pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty good! Some of the previous yelp reviews made the food sound pretty awful, and I'm glad it wasn't. The prices are reasonable too. Went here as a break since there was no where else to go while the car was charging in the parking lot. We saw reviews about the negative signage that says "We are not politically correct," but had almost an hour to kill and were getting very hangry. If my partner or I had any of our pride or BLM gear on us, I very much believe we would have been run out. It did not feel safe or welcoming for everyone. Do not recommend for anyone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community or supportive of basic human dignity for everyone. The overall vibe was also of not caring about the employees. We saw one staff member take the tips off of the table of another staffer and there is also a sign that implies the employees are always working and are not appreciated. We were sure to give our waiter directly a larger tip because they are obviously not getting paid enough to deal with this type of working condition. Inside was meh with the floors looking like they hadn't been mopped ever. Our waiter was really nice though. We ordered 2 orders of fries (listed as $2) and a chocolate shake to split. Both were decent, but remember we were also starving from not really eating and instead driving all day (we got trapped somewhere for an extra 90 minutes that we did not plan). When we got the check though the fries we ordered were listed as $5 for each order. Upon further investigation and discussion it turns out the manger and/or owner has wait staff put in orders as a large in order to up charge customers. NOWHERE on the menu or in the restaurant on the white boards does it mention this price or options for sizes of regular sides. We even had to prove it with the menu and only then did the waiter fix it. If you don't have to stop here, don't. And if you do, go across the street and get something from the gas station to tide you over to the next major exit with options. read more

The Biscuits and Gravy hit the spot and the bacon was cooked perfectly. We really enjoyed the 50's feel aspect of the diner. Prepay at the counter for your sit-down-style priced food, plus 15%/205/25% tip, even though there is no waitress. Bad start. Fast-food burgers, but you cannot order them how you want. "They all come the same way." Ours came mostly raw, despite assurances that they would be well done. There are a range of quality in burgers. They make steakburgers, which are ground steaks. And they make beef-heart burgers, the lowest quality, which are mainly ground beef-hearts. I am guessing ours were ground beef-hearts. Greesy buns, super-tough meat, plastic like veggies. The tomatoes were so GMO it was noticeable. Was told it would be quick. Okay, if an hour wait is quick. Got a surly response from the counter gal when I inquired what was taking so long. She was not good looking enough to be as bitc#y as she was. Do not tell her that, though, because she is quite full of herself. I will never stop here again ! read more

Pretty cool place! I enjoyed my food- club sandwich and hashbrowns. I wouldn't say either food item was particularly outstanding but I was starving and it filled me up satisfactorily. I did enjoy the chicken that was added and my bacon was perfectly cooked. My husband had a burger and fries and said they were fine. The location is very easy to get to and has ample parking. Bathrooms were clean enough and the register lady was very friendly while our male server didn't particularly seem to be enjoying his day. I got the feeling he wanted to be elsewhere. I've been there so I get it. The decor is great and the story is pretty interesting. If I was back I would definitely try a few other menu items. read more

The service here was pretty good and food was okay. Unfortunately, as we were paying our check, we noticed the mammy decor behind the coffee pot. I will not patronize this business again unless I hear a good explanation - such as the business owner is a black woman who finds this decor empowering or valuable in some way. The business was full of only white patrons and white servers, though, so this decor was quite disturbing. Per The NY Times: "The mammy stereotype portrays black women as obedient maids to white families. Like blackface, racist objects such as mammy jars perpetuate deep-rooted stereotypes about African-Americans by portraying them as docile, dumb and animated. But some white families view these objects as keepsakes, passed down through generations as relics of the past." Miracles come when you least expect it. Sometimes when we are at our lowest. Sometimes, when we are driving across endless stretches of Colorado highway, hungry as can be. We all have that family member that loves to cook, usually a grandparent. The sad thing is, when they pass onto the next adventure beyond this life, we never get that cooking again. I have lamented this fact about my grandmother for years. I truly miss her buscuits and gravy with hashbrowns. I rarely indulge in that type of food as is, unless I am on a quest to find something close to my memories. I was a bit offput by a specific piece of slightly hidden decor, but I soldiered on. I saw the great looking food passing by and was encouraged. The menu was pretty thorough with diner food, and had a home cooking fare. I saw the biscuits and gravy and had to try it. I added some hashbrowns and it was ready in no time. With my first bite I was elated - JUST LIKE MY GRANNY MADE! I couldn't believe it. The biscuits were fluffy, the gravy had a hint of smoky flavor, and the hashbrowns were just right. I also hit it with a sprinkle of their "Atomic Sauce" - a bold, homemade, Tabasco based saice that was quite tasty in it's own. I sure hope to make it back this way soon, and when I do, I will gladly revisit a food and flavor that I thought was long gone, and am so glad that I found. read more

From the mustang posted visible to the highway, to the classic silver diner decor, to the Elvis pictures on the wall - it is a true delight. Is it the best diner food I've had ever? No, but that doesn't matter. It's the best diner food west of hays and east of Denver, and that's what's important here. Went on a short I-70 adventure to Flagler, CO to eat at the I-70 Diner. Ok, first off this is a Diner on the eastern plains of Colorado, not a diner in a fancy pants neighborhood in a big city. So keep the snobbiness in your car, and enjoy the ambiance of what it is... a DINER!! The waitress was very friendly and attentive and did a great job of dealing with four other tables of guests. My burger and fries were delicious, and my wife said her fried chicken meal totally had that homemade flavor to it. Prices were reasonable. I didn't expect a chicken breast I thought it would be deli meat but I wish the bread was a little better, maybe toasted, and that the construction was more stable because it kinda fell apart. The tuna melt was pretty good too. Problem I had is that my fries tasted like fish. If I wasn't eating on the road I would have sent them back. The Pink Cadillac on the sign had me thinking I was on US Route 66, but it is the I 70 Diner! The sign gets attention, story is John Wayne drove the car, and Elvis sat in the backseat. Now it lures the hungry to feed. We had lunch, breakfast is served all day and looks good, but haven't tried it. Angie had country fried steak it was very good, available in two colors of gravy, brown or white. The onion rings....also very good. I, Mr. Angie, had a French dip sandwich which I enjoyed. Angie polished it off with a thick strawberry milkshake. The food was good, a good value for the price. Service was slow, but, it was busy when we arrived. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive as the pace slowed. All in all, a great meal. We will be back and look forward to trying some other items from the menu. read more
