It took 70 minutes to get our food, with no warning or explanation for when it would come…read more The hamburger was so over cooked and dry that it was hard to eat, coming from a butcher that is claiming such high quality of meat this was a surprise. I'm trying to think of any place at any time where a hamburger was so bad, but can't come up with anything. It wasn't burnt, it just tasted like it was cooked from frozen and sat on the grill for the entire 70 minutes we waited and slowly heated the life out of the meat. It was almost like they wanted it to be horrible. I've never been to a place that charged for fried onions on the burger. French fries were clearly from frozen and the freezer burn taste was strong. And due to the wait, arrived cold. We did have wings that were pretty good, sauces were nicely done. As far as ambiance, there were tons of televisions but all were showing the game show network, really? The NBA playoffs were on and we're showing Family Feud on every single TV, weird. This was the only food place in town that was open, in the future we'll go to another town. And I will not be visiting the butcher either, if you can't cook a burger I have doubts you'd know how to butcher the meat. I'm surprised the people who live in Kimball would ever go to this place.

I should've known this was a bad stop when I tasted the Guinness. We were just driving through…read moretrying to decide where to stop for a meal before the kitchens closed, and for some reason or another I had heard of Pounders before and figured we would give it a go. We walked in and it, had some people there, but I wouldn't call it busy, probably for the live bad, and what appeared to be several locals. We found a table a table super easy, and the bar tender made his way over super quick, which was nice. He brought menus over, facing them dinner side up, and said, "I'm facing these up because everything you see under the dinner side, we unfortunately don't have." So we started off with a couple beers and an order of the garlic cheese curds. The drinks and the cheese curds showed up quickly, but that was the absolute last time we were served. We waited so long that we piled up all of our glasses, food, napkins and all 4 of us just stared at the bartenders, who seemed more occupied with their friends and woman to come back to the table, when I called over to Burkys Bar and Grill to make sure their kitchen was still open. We got up and my brother went to pay for our table at the bar, the bartender said goodbye to us as we left. My brother continued to wait to pay at the bar, said he attempted to wave down the bartender several times before he was helped. On the bright side we were able to watch him from the car inside at the bar top, visibly getting more and more angry. We went to Burkys, and the food was good, we were helped super fast, and they even kept the fish fry open a little later. Several of the people in Burkys, seemed to similar experiences. Far as the food goods, the cheese curds were alright, and my Guinness was terrible. 10/10 won't be back.
