This review is just for the golf. I played here while on a road trip and they allowed my wife and our 2.5 year old son to ride with me. The staff there were all incredibly friendly. I played the Dunes course. The course had some spots in the fairways that were a little burnt out but I would never let that take away from my overall experience. Greens were lightning fast. High winds made the course very challenging. I would definitely love to come back here again someday to play the Pines and Horse courses. read more

Great golf course. 5 stars for the course. Both courses greens were wonderful. The fairways were beautifully manicured and played very difficult. The driving range quality was excellent well-maintained. The staff was very friendly and attentive whether you were on the golf course or in the restaurants. The restaurant food quality was very good. I had the fillet with garlic mashed potatoes and there was zero complaints. It came with a choice of a salad and I had a Caesar salad and it was excellent as for the hotel section it's a mixed bag. It could have some TLC to it, for example in my cabin, my room smelled like mold and hot water was limited. this place would be five stars if they corrected the minor problems with the hotel. read more

Golf is 5/5 no doubt. Great courses, in great shape. The experience staying at the lodge was very poor however. Dinner took way too long, one night it took almost 2 hours to get our food and when our cart broke down they couldn't get anyone out to help. Great place just need more bodies and experience. read more

If my review was based off of the golf, it would be 5/5. That being said, I traveled 11 hours and had a poor experience with everything off of the golf course. The lock on my room door was broken so I was not able to access my room for about half of a day. They only provided a $50 credit for the inconvenience. The food was ok, but it felt like the restaurant was understaffed. read more

Third time visiting the PC in the past 4 years. COVID screwed it up last year. Every year this place gets better and better, service is world class as well as two of the finest golf courses in the entire country. Lodging and food excellent and the overall atmosphere is hard to describe. Not sure there is a more peaceful place anywhere. If you love beautiful golf with world class service and reasonable prices give this place a try you will not regret it. Can not wait to go again next year. read more

Very enjoyable weekend at the Prairie Club. Premium golf with premium big sky views. I particularly enjoy the Dunes course. Most of the time, you feel like you're out there all alone (on the Dunes...not so on the Pines) which is a luxury. The Dunes course was challenging yet accessible. The wide fairways allow you to swing away off the tees. Your short game is tested by countless "waste area" bunkers. Greens are enormous and very quick. Reads and speeds were tough. At times I thought I'd rather be chipping from the fringe than putting! Course is open to non-members on one course per day. The Horse course is a fun little par 3 experience to get you warmed up before your round. Pines course starts slow and gets better as you go. The canyon views are impressive and there are a few memorable holes. It's a great course, it's just not the Dunes. Bring your A game up the Pines 18th as their might be a gallery on the patio! I had 4 meals at the restaurant. I must say that the one sandwich that I would order again is the turkey & swiss croissant with fries and a 1/2 pickle. It made for a nice lunch. The Fat Tire batter onion rings are pretty amazing and carry a special $10 price (~$1 per ring). A nice draft beer selection is always a nice pair to wind down after a day on the course. Service in the main bar area was OK. Twas late season, some of the help might be headed back to college - seemed a bit under staffed. I'm sure members dining upstairs require premium attention. That said, after a great round of golf, relaxing in a comfortable clubhouse is most welcome. This is especially important given that you're a pretty good distance from other options. If you're going to pay the premium price at the Prairie Club and you have one day to play, I'd suggest visiting on a Dunes course day and order the turkey and swiss for lunch and maybe the onion rings for a post round splurge! This place has gone downhill. The review is based on the overall experience as well, rather than just the courses. The golf courses are great, although not sure they live up to the hype. However, the service was really bad from start to finish. When you are stuck with one option for all your meals and drinks, it really kills the trip when that one option stinks. It routinely took 20min+ to get a drink or place an order, which caused us to be off schedule for tee times regularly. The service culminated with me leaving my rangefinder in the cart at the end of a round, but the next day it was nowhere to be found. For the reputation and cost, Prairie Club needs to do better. read more

Some buddies and I made the trip up from KC for two days of golf. We thoroughly enjoyed the courses. The food left something to be desired and there weren't many options on the menus. The room was fantastic and very comfortable. Great service overall!! Some room for improvement in respect to the food options and dining service. read more

If you're an avid golfer and you've never been to the Sandhills of Nebraska, you don't know what you're missing! Before you head back to other high-end golf resorts in Oregon or Wisconsin (you know the ones), make sure you've seen the courses at The Prairie Club. The service is impeccable, the rooms are comfortable with sheets and pillows from heaven. Don't worry about a little bit of a drive from area airports, the scenery is amazing. Our group of four golf buddies is ready to plan our return trip. We were there in July and it was HOT! However, it is not a humid heat typically. The food was reasonably priced for a resort of this caliber and breakfast was included daily with our room rate. Make sure you make time for the Horse Course in addition to the two full 18 hole courses by Tom Lehman and Graham Marsh. read more

Beautiful setting and extremely nice Sand Hills people. When I go there for diner it's always lovely and not overly crowded. Setting outside on the patio having desert overlooking the Snake River Canyon is a fun way to end the evening. My only complaint is the food. The quality just isn't there. The beef certainly isn't prime and maybe not even choice. The vegetables just don't seem fresh. Maybe bagged or canned. That being said it is a fun place to eat and we will be back I'm sure. read more

One of the best golf resorts you've never heard of. Golf enthusiasts need this place on their bucket list.

In valentine visiting my parents and they wanted to take us out for a nice dinner. My dad had brought my mom to the prairie club for Mother's Day and they had great service and meal so we decided to have a local Nebraska steak dinner. The club is very nice and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. For appetizers we had flat tire onion rings and spinach and artichoke dip. The onion rings had a great flavorful coating with two separate dipping sauces one a creamy horseradish sauce and another unknown pink one that was just ok. The spinach and artichoke dip was great plenty of creamy cheesy goodness,only down fall was the burnt toast that accompanied the dip. Each entree comes with a salad I chose the wedge salad, the dressing was great and had plenty of blue cheese . We had an amazing local bottle of wine, Marquette wine from the Niobrara valley vineyards it was well worth the price tag and truly the highlight of the whole meal. Now comes the down turn of our meal. After our salads were finished we were left waiting for our entrees for at least thirty minutes, the restaurant was only serving 4 other tables and they had 3 different servers working. When our meal finally arrived the presentation was great, but that was about all that could said for them. Three of us ordered the local Nebraska beef which is New York strip cooked perfectly but to tough to chew ,they obviously thought the beef would be tender because they didn't provide steak knives and the table was rocking trying to cut through them. Each meal came with garlic mashed potatoes that were super sweet and way to much garlic even for a garlic lover like me. My son ordered the blackened ribeye which again was cooked perfectly but had a very unusual rub which was not good and ruined the taste of the beef. When the manager came around to ask us about the meal we told her that the meat was really tough and she just said, "oh I'm sorry". The server came back to the table and apologized for the tough steak and offered dessert, which we wrongly assumed would be comped but was not. I guess what my very lengthy review is trying to say is this place makes local Nebraska beef look really bad , save your money and order your beef from Scottys or Hendersons and cook it at home. This place is way overpriced for the quality of beef they are pedaling. read more
