The Press Gallery has been sitting on the side of Jasper Ave, all on its lonesome, cleaning peoples clothes for over 10 years. It is my go to place because they use this Italian technology to clean your items that is moderately biodegradable, nontoxic and odour free. It is also PH neutral so it is gentle to the skin. One of my prized possessions is an Hermes scarf which I saved up for and bought about 8 years ago. I had never taken it to get cleaned until recently because A) I thought it might be crazy expensive to clean a fragile silk scarf, and B) I was worried it might be beyond cleaning, for over 8years of use I had let it get really dirty, and I didn't want it to be ruined in the process of the cleaning. Well, I could absolutely kick myself for not bring it to The Press Gallery sooner. They charged me something like $4.75 for the small scarf, and it came out looking like new!! I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel other customers should be aware of my experience. I entrusted this dry cleaner with a handmade Paul Harnden Shoemakers jacket that I had purchased from L'Éclaireur in Paris. It is a high-quality garment that had been carefully maintained and worn only occasionally. When the jacket was returned, I discovered multiple holes on the inside of both sleeves, along with visible changes to the fabric. I immediately contacted the owner and, after several conversations, returned the jacket so they could inspect it. They ultimately denied responsibility, stating the damage was simply "wear and tear," and declined to repair or compensate me. What disappointed me most was that the jacket was accepted for cleaning without any warning that it appeared too fragile to clean safely. If that had been the case, I would have appreciated being told before the work was performed. I later sought an independent opinion, and based on that assessment, I was left with serious concerns that the damage was consistent with excessive heat or the cleaning process rather than ordinary wear. I understand that others may have had different experiences, but based on mine, I cannot recommend entrusting this business with valuable or irreplaceable garments. read more

Believe the two star reviews dear Yelpers, and consider other options. The Press Gallery did a good job on my floor-to-ceiling drapes but their professionalism leaves a lot to be desired. For example, I was told it would be 1-2 weeks for the service, and 2 weeks later, I still hadn't heard from them. Not cool, if the service is going to take longer than expected, the customer should be contacted in advance. I paid for take down and rehang service, so imagine my surprise when their driver stopped by (without contacting me in advance, as I had requested) just to drop off my drapes. He was equally surprised that he hadn't been told I paid for full service, and said he'd call the shop (it was clearly indicated on the receipt attached to my drapes - $84!). I didn't hear from them, again, so I called them. Oh yes, she said, we'll contact the company (CRDN) to do it. Then she never called me back to let me know a time. I had to call CRDN to find that out myself. I don't know anyone who has 2 days to wait around for a 15 minute curtain hanging job, so I was a little pissed after all this. Fortunately CRDN is good to deal with and understands the importance of timely communication. The fellow from CRDN seemed similarly aghast at the service I received but not surprised, which is telling. He also hinted that The Press Gallery overcharges for its services. At $400 for two sets of basic unlined linen drapes, not including the full service, I would agree. I suggest you try elsewhere. read more

Terrible business!! I took my sheepskin rug in to be cleaned, not only did it take them MONTHS to clean it (kept telling me their "rug guy" wasnt in); but when I finally got to pick it up, after paying a total of $402.91 for all my items, they RUINED the rug.... the edges of the rug are missing the sheepskin when I texted them to complain I received NO REPLY. Retraction-I wrote a bad review against Press Gallery for charging us $600 to clean my daughters wedding dress. Since then, they called back to advise that gift cards we gave them, were valid($100) and that the additional repair work on the dress was their fault so they took it off the bill($300). Yo. This place is Uh-Maze-Zing! They clean errathang. Check. They are multilingual. Check. They treat you reaaaaalll noice. Check. They put my wife to shame with their folding ability. While you are there, ask about their monthly subscription. They will do your laundry for like 50 bucks a month, and they pick up and drop that stuff off boiii. Worth every penny. read more

First timer with the Press Gallery. Had to get my comforter cleaned. The Counter staff are very professional and knowledgeable. I requested a FREE PICK-UP AND HOME DELIVERY. Ryan, the driver, was so nice and professional. They told me it would take a week, he picked it up on a Wednesday and we had it delivered back to us that Monday. WOW ......Every other Drycleaners told me at least one week. And, last but not least, the price was very reasonable. We will definitely use their services again. GREAT JOB ! read more

This place was recommended to me by my salesperson for my expensive coat. I should have taken the reviews on here more serious. Go at your own risk and always take a before and after photo and do not pay unless you are satisfy with your item. The service was quick, but my coat was returned to me damaged. I went back to show them and they sent it to their tailor and it came back even less appealing to the eye. Tried to resolve it with them and gone back and forth with several email exchange but nothing has been resolved and I haven't heard from them for 2 weeks. read more

I took a couch cushion cover to be dry cleaned in mid-September, they told me it would have to be sent off & would not be ready for 3-5 weeks which I already thought seemed extreme. Cushion was not ready until November 29 (9 weeks after dropping it off) right in the middle of my final exams. I didn't have time to pick it up during exams & then came winter break so I was away for 2.5 weeks. An employee called me during these 2.5 weeks, made no reference to how late it was on their end, tried to tell me it had been awaiting pickup since September, informed me that I now owed $20 more than I was quoted & threatened that my cover would be put into dead stock if I didn't pick up soon. Their pick up service is wholly unreliable - they missed about 1 in 4 pick ups. One missed pick up led to my clothes being stolen - zero customer service from John (despite promises) in response. The convenience of the service just isn't worth the risk of loss. Can't recommend. read more

Awful customer service! I had dropped off a purse for repair and have been waiting 3 months to have it returned to me. I was promised a telephone call for a quote for the repair which I did not receive, it was to be done under a month and I was not contacted that it had been finished. I have called the business several times asking for a discounted price for the service due to the poor customer service and lack of communication and have received 1 telephone call since I started the dispute 2 months ago. This place was highly recommended to me to as the place to go for cleaning high end clothing. A quick browse of their website boasted a few impressive credentials so I was ready to give it a try. As others have stated, there is ample parking and they do offer delivery which is convenient; however what matters most is the quality of service. While there was nothing particularly bad about the service, some of my dress shirts came back looking less than remarkable. There appeared to be a lot of lint or loose materials on them. Easy for me to wipe off myself, but makes me wonder how effectively they had been cleaned. Also, none of my clothes were pressed (ironic given the name of the place) which was a new encounter for me. Maybe I just had a different experience, this business has been operating for a long time and I certainly bear no malice towards these small business owners. For all my dry cleaning however, I highly recommend The Cleanery or Gellibrands. read more

Crappy experience here today. I picked up $270 worth of dry cleaning today and seen they had advertised a summer special - 20% off dresses and shorts. I had a bunch of the wife's dresses in the pile to pick up and when I asked the employee if the promotion was applicable and if the 20% off would be applied to the certain items I had cleaned, she said no...meanwhile it's clearly marked on all the advertised pamphlets on the front counter near register. All it had was an expiry date noted of August 1, 2019 marked on it. There was no fine print on the pamphlets either with any limitations or restrictions pertaining to the promotion details. It was a simple one sided pamphlet. Sounded like a cheap way to scam a few extra bucks off me. Customer service was a bit to be desired; its been going down hill slowly. I just might have to find another dry cleaner. Shortly after, I received a call from their Customer Experience Manager who clarified a few things for me and who corrected the situation. It's reassuring that someone is monitoring these sorts of mishaps behind the scenes and is following up with clients and addressing them right away. I have been getting all my dry cleaning and some laundry done at The Press Gallery for years. They do an excellent job as a general rule but, even better, when they don't get it right the first time, they take responsibility and make it right. I can see why they continue to win awards. read more

My jacket was dropped off at the Press Gallery on Sept 29th, and I was told it would be ready in 4-6 weeks. After 6 weeks, I called to see where my jacket was & I was told that they had to charge me extra as the lining would need to be removed so they could clean it properly so again I would need to wait 4-6 weeks. This should have been mentioned earlier on not when the jacket should have actually been ready. I agreed to wait as I was told by Sharon it would be rushed & the charges would be covered by the Press Gallery as I made it clear I would not be paying extra as this was their mistake. I received it today Dec 13/2017 with holes in the underarm area on both sides. I paid $80.33 to have my jacket damaged. Also, my jacket was supposed to be delivered by noon today but I didn't get it until 3PM today. I spoke with Pushpa on Monday and told her that I needed it by noon today as it was being delivered to my workplace. She said that was not a problem. I also spoke with her before noon to follow-up, but again my jacket didn't arrive till 3PM. read more

Was good--- has recently been sold and relocated. I recently had them do so work for me. The dresses came back 'okay'-- but you could smell the chemicals on them...... however the silk drapes are another story. One panel had a stain, they should have said we can't remove the stain, instead they treated the entire panel, removed the sheen on the one panel, the fabric will now not hold a pleat -- PLUS the smell of the chemicals they used actually made my eyes burn! They 'lied' to me- told me one panel was ready but it took almost two months to get the drapes back.... needed a new pleater? Anyway I will never use them again will not refer anyone to them-- and definitely not 'eco-friendly'! Sorry they ruined a company's reputation with one chance and within two months! read more

They ruined the texture on my new designer dress. After 2 weeks of playing phone tag with the manager he offered no compensation, accepted no responsibility and whats worse is they tried to pass the blame on the dress manufacturer. No matter what do you do NOT go to the Press Gallery. I took my wedding dress and shoes here to be cleaned. Wedding dress cleaning and preservation is expensive but the dress was important to me so I was willing to pay for it to be cleaned. I asked to be called before the dress was boxed in order to inspect it. I reiterated this several times. When the dress was ready, I received a call that it had been boxed and was ready for me to pick up. I was not happy as I had specifically asked for it not to be boxed until I had inspected the cleaning job. I went to look at the dress and saw that they had torn half of a flower off in the cleaning process. I was so upset. They said that the manager would call me the next day. Instead of calling me the manager decided to send it to their tailor to fix. I was so upset that they took this upon themselves instead of consulting me first especially given that I had already lost faith in them. When I called to inquire why I didn't receive a call and what is happening with my dress, the manager told me that the tailor will make a new flower since they make wedding dresses. When the dress came back from the tailor, there wasn't a new flower but rather patch work which is clearly visible. My wedding shoes were Badgkey Mischka and cost me $250 and have jewels on them. I had sent them to be cleaned at the same time that I dropped off my wedding dress. I received the shoes back with a missing jewel. Unbelievable! read more

If there was a zero rating, that would fit better. I cannot believe this company. Hired them to clean our very expensive, very beautiful living room draperies. Started out fine, they picked up as determined. However we got them back-the header at the top on the back torn and shredded. Hooks pierced through to the front of the pleats. Were they ironed? Somewhat. The pleats were baggy, not at all lined up. The backing was not pressed at all so the drapes looked baggy when hung. I called them up to complain and ask for a resolution. They weren't interested in coming out to look at the drapes as they hung on our windows. So they picked up the drapes...THREE weeks ago and I had to call today to ask where my drapes are. They said they would call back and that was at 2:00 ish. Still waiting and it's 4:25. Looks like they don't care about the quality of their work. At all. So my recommendation? Stay away, stay very far away. Oh, and a recommendation for a drapery cleaner that is reputable would be Gellibrands. read more
