Dr. Peters is the…read morebest doctor...she is friendly and knowledgable, and best of all, makes patients feel comfortable, which is hard to do at a doctors office. She diagnosed an ailment that Piedmont Hospital ER missed a few years ago, and life has been much more comfortable for me since then. Because Dr Peters is with the Piedmont Hospital network, I decided I only want to go to Piedmont Hospital when I was sick and needed surgery. All my paperwork and records were transferred seamlessly with their internal network, and Dr Peters called me the day after an initial ER visit to see how I was doing, and of course, after the surgery as well. Luckily since then, I've only had to visit for my annual check ups. The office is well appointed, in an office/medical building with other specialized Piedmont doctors. Small parking lot, but I've never had problems finding a spot. The nurses are nice, though not overly so...except for the nurse in the lab that jokes with me about my thin hard-to-find veins. My last visit, I drank a liter sized bottle of water before my appointment, just so the veins would be easier to find...joke's on her, haha! (I'm such a dork.) Only negative? I rarely ever get ahold of the receptionist live to book an appointment and i always miss their return calls because they call while i'm working...I wish they had an online appointment booking option. As with all doctors, if you schedule your appointment early, there's less waiting time. Typical doctors appointment availability- wish there were more Friday and offhour options but they usually only have appointments during regular business hours in the middle of the week, and you have to book months ahead of time. They do have online messaging system for emailing your doctor and getting prescriptions and lab results, which is very convenient.

I arrived at 3:51pm and got in the office at 3:52pm with no one attending the front. Dr. Hicks treated my father and we went through a couple of prescription changes until he found what worked best for my father. Dr. Hicks did not stop until my father's blood work came back "normal", which was by January 2017. I feel that Dr. Hicks took the time and listened to us, especially since I was my father's translator. Dr. Hicks is very old school, he doesn't have a nurse who assess you and does the initial interview, rather he does it all himself. It's an office of a very small staff, they're a little outdated, but I'm there to see the doctor, not the office. 10 stars for Dr. Hicks!!

The 'my chart' app that they have gives me an easy and efficient way to communicate with the Dr's for any general questions I may have. The practice is run efficiently, which does contribute to a "get 'em in, move 'em along" feeling, but this efficiency also benefits you when it is your turn in the exam room or being worked up for your physical. Physicals are in two parts: One date for blood draw, EKG, BP, weight and x-ray, another date for doctor's hands-on exam, consultation and question and answer.

It's not easy to find a good doctor…read morethese days, so I am thrilled to have found Dr. Fredd Miller through a fellow doctor's recommendation. Dr. Miller is an anomaly in this day and age. He was personable, easygoing, and knowledgeable. But what really stands out is that he actually takes the time to talk to you as though you are his only patient. I never felt rushed in any way. I was initially perplexed at the set up for an annual exam since it entails two visits that are billed as one copay. However, it wound up being a great idea. On the first visit they take all of your labs so Dr. Miller is able to go over all of the results when he examines you on the second visit. This was much better than simply having a doctor call you to briefly go over your lab results, which is how many of my previous doctors have operated in the past. The staff was very nice and easy to work with. The online portal works well for viewing lab results and contacting Dr. Miller. He checks these emails multiple times a day and is easy to reach. The office is clean, modern, and conveniently located off Glenridge near the corner of Hammond Drive. There is plenty of parking available and the office is easy to find. All in all, if you're looking for a good PCP, Dr. Fredd Miller is definitely the right prescription!

Things you should know: I. PARKING The #1 reason for hypertension in Atlanta, right? Don't worry, everything about the parking garage, here at this location, is clearly labeled. When you pull up, you'll have to get a ticket. Unfortunately, parking here is only free the first 30 minutes (which you're never out of a doctor's office in 30 minutes ~ let's be real). So anticipate paying the fee when you leave. I was there 40 minutes and it costed me $4. Family Practice Center does NOT validate. Make sure you park in the area that says "Parking for build F" so you don't have to walk a distance before your appointment. Make sure to follow the signs to the proper building entryway. II. SERVICE Quick. I got called right on time. It took 10 minutes to take my vitals and for the assistant to write any additional notes. Before I knew it Lee Ann was addressing my needs. Something to note when making an appoint: make sure you call for the RIGHT location. There are several branches for Family Practice Center. I messed up and scheduled in Sandy Springs instead of Alpharetta. Oops. There's a 24 hour cancellation policy. III. QUALITY I noticed a staff member cleaning the waiting room. That's reassuring to see them care for the facility. IV. CAPACITY There were 5 people in the waiting room but still plenty of seating. Everyone was pretty spaced out.
