I was in the middle of a complicated relationship situation and really wanted some guidance on my love life. I was prepared to explain all this at the outset; I don't actually require magic from a tarot reader, just curiosity, and I find that having full context prior to a reading really informs the reading itself. However, this practitioner did not ask me a single question before she started laying many cards out on the table in a quick, automatic fashion. She jumped right into making predictions for my future--"career change in September," etc.---and asking me about things in my past -- "did something with your Dad happen in July?" that 1) I was not looking for, and 2) were simply not accurate, at least the questions she was asking about past events. At one point I even started feeling bad and looking for ways to make her past predictions correct, even though they were so off-base, because it was very awkward to keep telling her "no, not really." When I got curious and asked about some of the cards, she acted offended. I felt annoyed by that and I never got a deep read on any of the cards she pulled. Halfway through the "tarot reading" I booked, she seemed to get bored with the cards and switched to astrology. This annoyed me because I am really not an astrology person. I don't have my birth chart memorized and didn't know my time of birth off the top of my head. She proceeded to read my astrological chart anyway (which must have been inaccurate). She also had me "guesstimate" the birth time and birth place of the person I was in a relationship with. Based on this, she told me that our relationship existed in a "dead zone" and was destined to never go anywhere. I felt this was a totally inappropriate prediction to make on the basis of incomplete information (lacking birth times for both of us, and a birth place for one of us). In short, I am a pretty open-minded person but this experience was honestly quite bizarre. I would call it a total waste of money except that I got an interesting story out of it. It also clarified my interest in tarot. I am not interested in a fortune-telling approach to tarot, I am much more interested in using it as a tool for psychological introspection. If you feel the same, find a friend or acquaintance to read your tarot, not this service.
