A parking garage is across the street, but other than that it's a challenge, For safety I would not park off campus. My son swam in his conference meet the UAA. He swims for Washington University. Typically Emory, Chicago & WashU are the top programs in the country. The teams are competing in swim and dive. The facility lacks adequate spectator space for very large meets such as this. The pool is a 50 meter plus diving. It's a great pool and swims fast! The staff at the event over four days was excellent. Ticketing was handled well and the lines organized. They even had a coat check. My deduction of 1 star is the spectator area. Not only small, but the design is poor. Only the two front rows can see well. 3.5 rounding down.

On my way to that building, I passed by Chicago Booth, University of Chicago's business school. The building looked very modern and sleek. Comparing the Chicago Booth building to the Ida Noyes Hall building, there's a huge difference in architecture and overall aesthetic. I personally love the mix of modern and old school/vintage buildings. It adds character to college campuses. I explored a little bit more of the campus, and overall beautiful college campus.

To say you could have knocked me over with a paper towel would have been an understatement. Wow. When I was attending B-school, it was located in old Stuart Hall which is part of the main quad area. I remember on cold wintry days, which were a frequent occurrence, we would sit in a cramped room watching "Oprah" (when she was poorer and fatter with Patti Labelle's old hair) while nursing a really bad cup of joe (in the days before Starbucks exploded). I couldn't wait to get out of Stuart the minute class was over and go to Morry's for a hot pastrami sandwich. But new millennium B-schoolers have this extravagant standalone building two blocks to the east. Adjacent to Rockefeller Chapel and the Robie House, it is a spectacular vision in glass and concrete designed by renowned Uruguayan architect Raphael Vinoly with an expansive atrium where students can spread out on comfy chairs in sunlit lounge areas. I am amazed at how lucky students are to have such a spacious, state-of-the art place to study and network. It made me want to go up to one and tell them how I had to trudge through the snow with my icicle-riddled muffler, but I was afraid he'd call me "Gramps". It's definitely worth seeing if you're in Hyde Park for any reason.

We had just gone through major renovations to update the law school, and I can say at the time, it was definitely an aesthetically pleasing building. But with all due respect, WSU aint got nothing on University of Chicago's school of Law. I didn't really get to see the entire thing, but here is what I will say. This place is absolutely stunning and an architectural jewel in Hyde Park. I was utterly amazed by the reflecting pool that sits outside of the law school, and is apparently a draw for young kids looking to cool off during the summer. The law library is expansive and beautifully crafted. I would love to have a board meeting in this space. It looks so classy and pristine. I can see why the school is ranked #4 in the country. Hopefully some of our clients can come speak to the students in the near future.

My program, Addictions Studies moved to Kennedy King College from Harold Washington College back in…read moreFall 2016, resulting in me transferring to this campus. Most of the classes I took on this campus pertained to the degree I pursued which were mostly social work, mental health and a child development class. Kennedy King College is a very relaxed environment and the classroom sizes are intimate which gives you opportunities to get to know your classmates and more time with the professors. The social work and mental health professors I have had are very knowledgeable because most still work in the fields they are teaching. And as semesters went by, I regularly found myself returning to old valid notes in realization of how amazing my social work, and mental health professors were in preparation. Most of the books we utilized were up-to-date with the books used at Chicago State University or Governor State University. As for the staff, I have not encountered many rude staff members. For the most part, the onse I have encountered are laid back and down to earth, but you still have the few that are not the friendliest. Like any other college campus you will have students that are not as serious in their studies in comparison to others, such as seeming like it is a high school reunion versus putting in the work in the library or computer lab to get studies done. Do not be the one! Get the work done and move on! If I can give any advice to any new students, I would say research the program you want to study and the classes you need to take that are part of it. And always make sure your FASFA is submitted prior to completing an application because it will make things somewhat smoother once you enter the campus. It will seem like a rough ride, but you will get the hang of the process, as far as where online to choose classes and once you visit campus who to see. The Veteran Services Center is nowhere near what I have experienced at Harold Washington College, but it is ok! I think that it is because Harold Washington College has more veterans on campus and younger versus Kennedy King College, so more work is put into the program. Other than that, I have not had any issues with my Post 911 nor Illinois Veterans Grant paperwork being submitted. Located on the campus is a pool, gym, and a cafeteria with reasonably priced foods, which I may have shared pictures of. I cannot speak about the pool, but the gym is very nice! It is equipped with enough workout stations that will assist you with staying fit during the semester. I loved working out in-between class because it helped me clear my mind going into class, plus relieved that the workout is done. All, the pool, gym, and cafeteria are located in the 'W' building. The college sits right outside of CTA Halsted and has a Divvy bike share, if that's your thing! There is also a huge parking lot, if you wish to drive to campus. Kennedy King College is not a bad school, however, the area may be sketchy during the evening hours, but I have not encountered anything crazy as of yet! I think many students avoid taking classes here due to the campus being in Englewood, but I assure you there is not anything to worry about, as long as you are not up to no good off campus you will have a great time at Kennedy King College. However, he was met with sarcasm and rudeness from the people who were theyre to give him the information. He's a first generation college student so he's starting from scratch and these people kind of changed his excitement for starting here. I don't take kindly to people who dislike their jobs and takes it out on the very people they should be helping. They know they're in a predominately black neighborhood they should be more helpful, receptive and polite!

Used to be such a well-run board with thoughtful, inclusive and respectful leadership, interesting…read moregatherings, speakers and most importantly members providing camaraderie, friendship and the sharing of ideas. Recently however the board leadership from the top down has become more political, and more like a sorority, and as a result has lost some of its most devoted and active members who have been a long time integral part of the board and not surprisingly who also donated a large amount of time and money to the University. An overall disappointing experience made even worse by new hires by the University.

They are converted from apartments, a century old, but clean, well maintained, convenient to the campus, relatively safe and quite comfortable. Most importantly, quite a bit more affordable than staying in a downtown hotel and going to and from the campus every day. The LSTC staff we met were very nice and helpful.

It is a state of the art facility with everything you can just about think of, and that's just for the students. They also have an incubator kitchen that you can arrange to use for anywhere between 7-12 dollars an hour, just in case you were thinking about starting your own catering company. The staff is very well trained and proffesional. I was comparing the resumes of the Washburne staff as opposed to the kendall college staff and was actually pleased to find out the Washburne staff has either more experience in high quality fine dining establishments, and/or higher education than a majority of the staff at kendall. http://kennedyking.ccc.edu/washburne/staff.asp The education recieved there is more hands on than most culinary schools in the nation, and that is without boosting the tuition to rediculous amounts. In total for the associates in culinary arts is around 14,000. Which is also one of the best in the nation for culinary arts. The provost for washburne was an Associate Vice-President at the CIA. Washburne provides a very quality education without making you go broke.

Offering a competitive culinary education to low income residents of the city of Chicago as well as students seeking a great culinary education, numerous scholarships are awarded every year ranging from small grants for shoes and equipment to full tuition reimbursement. The school has moved to the South Shore Cultural Center, a gorgeous building restored to its close-to-original grandeur. The cuinary school has opened up a restaurant to showcase the students' cooking: The Parrot Cage Restaurant. Although I have not been to the restaurant, I attended their 9th annual showcase, which was as impressive as the cooking was good. The students really did it up, serving up Japanese-influenced favorites from Black Cod with Miso Sauce to a very tender teriyaki chicken. My doctor ordered a bone scan so I went in on November 7th 2025 and received the bone scan. The…read moreresults were never sent back to my doctor even though you UChicago charged Medicare and were paid. Myself and my doctor kept calling for the results and they said that they have to receive a release form from me and my doctor so we filled it out and sent it in. We talked to Rebecca over and over and they apologized for the poor service yet there were still no results. After they received the release for the results they looked up the doctor and said she wasn't a legitimate doctor (which is not true and she is a licensed doctor). It is now January and we still don't have the bone scan. Terrible terrible service.
