Our stay at The Queen - A Victorian Bed & Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. The property is located in a beautiful part of Pennsylvania (Bellefonte, PA) and is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park, making it a perfect place to stay while exploring the area. We spent one night in the Maid's Quarters, and the accommodation was comfortable, charming, and full of character. The home is beautifully decorated with antiques that add to the Victorian atmosphere and make the experience feel truly special. Nancy, the proprietor, along with Casey and Asia, were all incredibly welcoming, helpful, and pleasant throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent!! They all went out of their way to make us feel at home. We especially enjoyed the excellent conversations and genuine hospitality. If you're looking for a unique, relaxing, and friendly bed-and-breakfast experience, I highly recommend The Queen. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly stay again. read more

We had high hopes for this stop on our cross country road trip but it definitely fell short of expectations. We had a dog so when we booked the only room available, which was the Governor's Suite. The room was lovely and large with an ensuite bathroom but they didn't mention it was on the 3rd floor. We also didn't know it was 5 flights of stairs to the room. So, if you have a pet you have 5 flights of stairs to go outside. Also, we arrived around 3pm but no-one was there to greet us. Yes, we had instructions but it seemed impersonal. We left later to sightsee, still no-one there. We came back, we went to dinner, still no-one. Lastly, when we headed out to dinner it was dark, the lights along the stairs shone straight up into our face and we couldn't see the stairs at all, we warned each other to be careful. I had to shade my eyes and slowly reach my foot out to feel each stair, but my partner missed one and went sprawling down the stairs and hurt both knees. We did have a good night's sleep and saw a person at breakfast but all in all it felt more like a VRBO than a B&B. They did offer to pay if we needed medical attention, which was kind, but I think fixing the lighting is probably crucial, or be forewarned. Also, we left at 9am so we didn't have breakfast. The B&B didn't appear to be occupied by anyone other than one other couple, so I would have appreciated a little more attention for the price. read more

This bed and breakfast was an excellent place to stay. We enjoyed a night in Anne's room. Got to enjoy the town of Belafonte and a quick visit to Penn State for ice cream. Amazing breakfast in the morning of homemade waffles with fresh strawberries, homemade whip cream and a hint of cinnamon. I recommend coming and checking out this amazing house. read more

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS AWFUL PLACE Absolutely the worst booking experience I've ever had. Booked a room for the whiteout weekend in State College. Inquired about POTENTIALLY canceling the reservation due to my fiancés work conflcit. Confirmed with them over the phone we would not be canceling TWO MINUTES after inquiring. When they saw an opportunity to price gouge the listing, they took it. They decided to not cancel our non-refundable reservation, but rather move the dates on us WITHOUT NOTICE. When I called them about it, the property Manager, Nancy, wouldn't even speak with me, but I could hear her talking negatively about me on the phone with the receptionist. When I told them i could here her saying I was "playing games", she took the phone, yelled at me, then hung up on me. Then would not return my calls. We are now out flights and event tickets for the weekend thanks to this awful place. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! read more

So in love with this place! I always wanted to stay in a bed and breakfast and took advantage this weekend since my graduation was down the road at Penn State(20 min). Our flight got in late so we arrived late for check in but Nancy made it so welcoming even without her there. My husband and I stayed in Anne's room and wow so beautiful it's a must stay. The bathtub was a dream it was so relaxing and conveniently placed. The whole house is just a dream and breakfast and staff was so amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, just wish I could have stayed longer. If you are debating which b&b to stay in this is it !! read more

We thought we were staying here at The Queen, yet Nancy had us in a house on Lamb Street called The Virginia. Looking on the internet of what we thought we were getting and what we got. Shame on them! They used the old bait and switch on us. The door was open and the keys to the house were on the left in a basket. The picture on the keychain once again looked nothing like the living room and on the other side of keychain said The Queen Bed & Breakfast. Walking around the house it had three bedrooms, two toilets one downstairs and the one upstairs had a shower tub bath, dinning room, living room and kitchen. Good things were the towels and four rolls of toilet paper, and one roll of paper towels. It was okay because we could make our own meals together. I said okay,because the toilet broke on the last day and they did come and leave the toilet plunger on the front porch. Yet called twice and left voice messages and still Nancy did not call us back. read more

We stayed at The Queen for 3 days and really enjoyed it. Location: In a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful mountains and forest. Only minutes drive to Penn State main campus. Building: Historical and tastefully decorated. And it's dog friendly!!! yess!!! Our pup stayed with us and everyone was super nice to him. I only stayed at The Queen for one brief evening, but thoroughly enjoyed and was pleased by every minute of it! Nancy and Curt are awesome hosts; the B&B was clean, attractive, gorgeously appointed (if you like antiques-you'll be in 7th Heaven!), and breakfast was delicious and well-served by Nova! Have to mention the relaxing bath in a huge clawfoot tub, with complimentary bath additives that made the aftermath of a full day of driving much more comfortable. We loved our stay at The Queen B&B. The Maid's Quarters was perfect for us .We enjoyed having kitchen space to prepare some meals. We arrived 2 hours later than expected, but we were greeted with a big smile and a lovely tour. We got two rooms for the price of one, since we were moved due to another guest's request. No problem for us - worked out great. This place is chock-a-block full of all kinds of Victorian "stuff". By some miracle, there is not one bit of dust in the whole house - it is as clean as a whistle. Lovely touches like a 24 hour coffee service in the hallway, make up remover, face lotions, Biore facecloths, etc. are all available in the rooms. Very comfortable beds, fantastic sheets (which you can buy, by the way - totally reasonably) - slept very nicely. Breakfast was lovely - homemade Eggs Benedict, fruit cups, little chocolates on the table and an assortment of juices. Nancy took extra care to ensure that our children were happy as well, offering hot chocolate and options for breakfast. (She also entertained them on the player piano - and assisted them to play it - a huge crowd pleaser). Made conversation with a very sweet couple at the table - it is why I enjoy B&Bs - connecting with other people. And the Queen is the perfect place to do it. read more

My new favorite place to stay near Penn State! After driving for 2 days, The Queen was most welcoming. Mark made sure my room was ready and inviting, not just for me but for my dog. The Govners Suite was for travelers with animals, and it was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Mark set up bowls. A mat, and treats for my dog, and the dog appeared to like it as well! Breakfast was downstairs in a beautiful dining room. Fresh, tasty, and awesome! Next time we travel to get our daughter or attend Penn State events, this is the place! read more

We were visiting g Bellefonte to spend some time with our son. The Queen is truly a Victorian B&B. The past abounds in this very well maintained home. The hostess and owner, Nancy, is very sweet. We told her we were on glutton-free diet and our two breakfasts were made specifically for us. Nancy invited our son to join us as well. We had some extra time one morning and she suggested the Millbrook Marsh and it was just a wonderful way to have spent such a lovely spring morning. We had never stayed in a B&B before and we were looking for a nice place to celebrate my birthday. We couldn't have been more delight with our stay here. Stopped here on my way from Detroit to New Jersey. And, I have to say - one of my favorite Bed and Breakfast experiences to date! Nancy greeted us as we got in at 10:30PM, and helped us get all of our stuff into our room - the Governor's suite. We had our dog with us, and this room was not only dog friendly, but incredibly clean and cozy - complete with fireplace, and treats for both dogs and humans. Breakfast was a yummy apple waffle, served promptly at 9am. The family and I decided at the last minute to drive from Chicago to Connecticut for Christmas. Not every B&B is willing to accommodate a small child, but Nancy was thrilled to have us all there, and my five-year-old daughter would have been happy to just stay there and cut the trip short. We arrived way later than planned, and found our own way to our gorgeous room. The following morning, Nancy was actually apologizing for missing us the night before. The entire experience was fun, the house was spotless, and it didn't cost us any more than the dumpy roadside hotels we've been forced to stay at in the past. read more

I stayed in Nanny's Attic on the third floor. The room was perfect for me. It has warm, wooden-paneled walls and a neat view. There was plenty of room for me to put clothes into the closet and lay my things on top of the dresser. Just outside of the room was a coffee/tea station, which was convenient. Nancy was great about accommodating my gluten free diet. I was in town for an APS event, and she adjusted breakfast time for all of us. Nancy has her own honeybees, and I really enjoyed fresh honey at breakfast. Overall really pleasant experience. I would stay here again. read more

We stayed one night in the Maid's Quarters, a 1 bedroom, living room, full kitchen & bathroom suite with separate side entrance. Chocolate truffles and a welcome/explanation letter greeted us (we arrived late at night), along with water and soda in the fridge. The suite slept 2 adults and 2 kids comfortably (kids on the futon in the living room). A ton of Victorian and vintage stuff all around, kind of quirky. Nancy was very helpful and hospitable and had interesting stories to tell. Breakfast was tasty with fruit & eggs benedict, served at 9am. A very bed-and-breakfast-y kind of place, and I'm a fan of B&Bs. read more

My boyfriend and I were on a spontaneous road trip and realized around 6:30 pm we needed somewhere to stay. We called The Queen A Victorian B&B and were greeted by a very friendly Tami who said to come on over and wine and cheese would be waiting. The home is beautiful, the rooms are impeccably clean and cozy, and Tami is a delight. She helped directed us to a lovely dinner. The stuffed french toast is to die for! I stayed for five nights at The Queen due to a medical emergency for my daughter who is a recent grad of Penn State and now continues in a research capacity there. Nancy was so welcoming and understanding and it was wonderful to return each night after 12 hour days of medical concerns and organization. I melted into the bed each night and woke the next morning ready for any challenges the new day brought. The Queen is decorated so beautifully that I almost felt like I was returning to my own home each night. Now that my daughter is well on her way to recovery, I hope I can return to The Queen and enjoy the full bed and breakfast lifestyle.
