Bf was pumped about trying elote for the first man but asked seriously "What if I don't like it?" Elote is corn, smothered with Mayo, and sprinkled with cheese. What's not to like?! Bf had the Mexican (#1 seller) and me being the hot Cheetos aficionado that I am, ordered hot Cheeto. Bf very quickly became an elote believer!! As Joyce mentioned in her review, I remember the good ol' days elote was $1.75... ah yes those were the days. Elote will run you $6 on the cob or in a cup. There's just something that hits differently eating it on a cob than in a cup... like having a Mexican Coke and a regular coke... clearly elote on the cob and Mexican Coke are the ways to go! I suggest bringing $1.50 in quarters, and you will be fine parking and browsing shops in the area. Some meters in the area do not have a cc insert so I recommend keeping quarters on hand. The brand has a really distinctive local identity and if you're looking for an edible souvenir, this is a great option since their products are allergen-friendly. They're gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free, and they're also Kosher dairy-certified. I also loved that they have some Southwestern inspired flavors, which makes them feel a little more unique than your average popcorn shop. This is a standalone store, but they also sell online and at select grocery stores like AJ's Fine Foods and Fry's Foods. What I loved about visiting the shop itself is that you can sample all the different varieties, and it's nice to be able to get fresher batches and different sizes straight from the source. I ended up taking home a big bag of their prickly pear popcorn and a normal size bag of the Porcini Truffle Cheddar, which had a really nice savory flavor with real porcini mushrooms, black truffle sea salt, and organic cheddar cheese.
