My fiancée is not able to consume chocolate though, so it would have been nice to be given the option to select our cake flavors. My fiancée went out of her way and reserved our Afternoon Tea two weeks before my arrival from California. She requested the table nearest the window for perfect people watching but when we arrived, another group was already in that place. The hostess explained that she misread the table details in the reservation book, leading to the logistical issue. Using a digital (not handwritten) reservation book in the future would be an easy way to prevent a problem like this in the future. To add insult to injury, the hostess wasn't very apologetic until after our Tea and we were made to sit in the back of the Tea Room to the dismay of my fiancée. Thankfully, our kind server and the tasty tea + treats eventually put my fiancée at ease. At £12.95/person, the Afternoon Tea at Gorgeous Gerties is an incredible value and set the bar high for future Teas in the future!
