Enjoyed the friendliness of the baristas. Went twice whilst staying nearby and each time, it was charming and the coffee was good.

Lovely friendly people; great coffee; healthy juices; healthy food. Perfect start. Will be back!

Very nice and bright coffee shop with selection of breakfast and brunch items, along with bakery items. Several tables inside with a 90 minute maximum of sitting time. Good coffee and friendly service.

It's good but I think it's very easy to make. The Eggs Hollandaise + Ham is so fresh but the ham is pretty dry. The Salmon, eggs & avocado are good as well. The salmon is soft and tasty. The avocado is fresh. The eggs are yummy.

Yes, it's a cool little coffeeshop with an interesting background, and maybe I just came at a weird time on an off day, but I didn't feel very welcome there. I know Londoners aren't usually known for their friendliness, but at most of the other coffeeshops I frequent, the vibe is comfortable and the staff seems genuinely happy to be there. The coffee also plays an important role in my rating, and this was a fairly disappointing cup of coffee for me. I had to add sugar to my latte for the first time in a while. However, the effort is there, and I know this place has a very loyal following. Not to mention decadent sweets galore! So, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. The only problem is, for someone who is only visiting London, time is precious and it shouldn't be wasted on subpar coffee with lukewarm service.

OH MY GOOOSHH! Just a walking distance from were I recently moved and THANK you for that! The Coffee is AMAZING!!! And made with such finesse! The Latte art is on point!! Their cakes looked super yummy, and I will be sure to try them in the future as well! But they are all for their coffee, and they dont joke about It! A must when in London!

Nice and costly atmosphere. I took a chai latte with some plum tart and it was pretty good. It tasted really homemade. Then the other foods like the wraps look delicious! I will come back for sure !

Love, love, love this coffee shop on Bermondsey Street. Over the year, it has become my go-to place for a weekend pick-me-up. In a nutshell: Serves up great coffee and irresistible desserts :) Lovely space with a tasteful and rustic design The Watch House is hard to miss if you are making your way down Bermondsey Street. It's located right at the end of Bermondsey Street by St. Mary's Churchyard. It's a cozy place with a few seats in the nook and two tables outside. When you walk in, it is a sensory explosion - loaves of bread stacked against the wall; fresh sandwiches; cakes and delicious looking desserts; and artisan merchandise (granola, chocolates, honey) for sale. As it is a small area, you might be faced with a short wait to place your order and a bit of bumping shoulders to pick it up. If you don't want to face the long queue at Monmouth Coffee at Borough Market, make your way over to Watch House and spend an afternoon checking out the other shops on the Street!

Everything about this place is great. Super cute little building on Bermondsey Street. Has great outdoor seating too, if there's not enough room inside. Definitely not a place to come work if it's during peak hours with a lot of people. I think it's better than Hej, which is nearby. The food is fantastic, well presented, and the coffee is amazing. People here are really nice too. Did I mention it's super cute?

    Not just for coffee

Tucked away at the lower end of Bermondsey St is a renovated guards house that used to watch over the graves next door. Now it's worth coming south of the river for your daily coffee. It's full of character and the wood burner is a real charmer as the winter months roll on in. Serving Ozone coffee they know that an Americano doesn't come with milk and that it's different to a long black. But don't be fooled, it's no Shoreditch hipster attraction. It's just pure passion and filled with local lovers. However it's not all about the coffee. Their tea selection is pretty top and I'm an avid lover of the Green tea: jade tips after lunch. With wifi, built in phone chargers and serving a fine healthy breakfast, it's hard not to have this place as one for the "frreelancer's office" list. I know it's on mine!

This little cafe popped up during the street festival at the end of the summer. It's situated in a unique building, a tiny 19th century room which I believe was attached to the nearby church at some point. The space is cozy - lots of wood paneling and benches, and exposed brick, albeit it can be a bit of a tight squeeze. The pastries, soups and sandwiches here look amazing! I've heard great things about the doughnuts and salmon bagel. I just popped in for a chai, which was good. They do seem a bit frazzled with the service (I asked for a to go cup, didn't get one, but the two women in front of me did, when they didn't, etc). Minor growing pains I think. I'll definitely be back!

The hype, in my opinion, is still a bit overdone, but I have to say, the coffee has only gotten better over time, and it's not the worst place for people-watching if you manage to snag a seat. Their espresso is now perfectly balanced and blends well with your choice of cow, oat, or nut juice. Their pastry selection has also expanded, and now carries a modest artisanal spread, from Pistachio Financiers to sugar-coated brioche. Croissants also abound, and in the colder months, they carry Italian Panetone, which soaks up that coffee brilliantly. The space is still small, and during the busier hours, your only probable choice will be to stand at one of the back counters with your tiny spread. They still don't offer take-away cups, unless you're willing to shell out £5 for one of their reusable cups. The bright side: You get those £5 back if you return the cup. Being one of London's finer purveyors of coffee, they also sell pricey beans with a little something for every coffee lover to take home with them. If you happen to come during the Winter Holidays, try to snag one of their cozy seats in the corner of the shop beneath the window facing Borough Market; you won't be sorry.

But no, the bakery is indeed tucked on a market street across from a rail road type place. Once you are on that street, you'll see more people. The inside is beautiful. This morning, I strolled down Bermondsey Street for a Cold Brew when I noticed gorgeous pastries in the window at @comptoir_bakery . After re-fueling with caffeine, I returned to Comptoir and noticed that they had tasty looking Sausage Rolls, which are on my London Food Bingo Card. A Sausage Roll consists of seasoned sausage, surrounded by layers of puff pastry, baked until golden brown. Comptoir's had light and dark sesames on top. I often prefer savory pastries, and this still warm Sausage Roll was the perfect mix of seasoned sausage and satisfying flaky pastry shell. I don't know if I'll have other Sausage Rolls while I'm in London, but this one sets a high standard. My family is still asleep and haven't tried the other pastries and donuts I bought, but they look amazing. I had a sliver of chocolate pastry and it was delicious and flaky. Service was top rate too. If you find yourself in London, @comptoir_bakery on Bermondsey has my high recommendation.
