I went to this salon and showed the stylist the balayage I liked and she said she could do it. I got it done and didn't get to look at the entire job before I left, it looked alright from the front, not what I was expecting but I thought maybe I could get used to it, I tipped well and left. Later that night someone pointed out the back of my hair looked really bad, that's when I realized what a bad balayage I had received ( see the pictures below). I didn't feel comfortable going back to this stylist as she would have tried fixing it and it's obvious she does not know what she is doing when it comes to a balayage. I then went to Realm Hair studio in Sierra Vista and had to pay to fix this bad balayage. I wasted a lot of money on this, I would suggest if you want a balayage go to Venue, they know what they are doing, as you can see in the pictures below. read more

Update to my review below. I contacted Heather after my poor service from Tina the day before. She immediately responded and relayed how sorry she was that I was unhappy with my haircut and said she would do what she could to fix it for me the next day and would refund my 35 dollars. The next day, Heather greeted me happily and preceded to do a detailed look of my hair while talking to me about why I was unhappy and how she could fix it. She washed my hair again then cut, dried, and styled it. It looked so adorable and I am so happy with how it turned out (and frankly, a little surprised at how well she was able to fix it and make it look so good!). She stayed there doing my hair for over an hour after the shop closed. I told her I wanted to pay and tip her and she wouldn't let me! She said she was happy to help and more happy that I was pleased with the final result. A wonderful stylist and a great experience after my first issue. I will definitely be returning to The Realm with Heather as my stylist from now on. ----------------------------- I was unhappy with my service today. I went into the salon looking to get a short haircut that I had previously had. My hair had grown out since then and I brought in the same picture I had brought to my previous stylist. The experience didn't start out well with Tina putting a cape on my that didn't fasten properly so a lot of the hair was going down my neck into the back of my shirt. She kept commenting how she "hated this cape because [she] has to keep brushing the hair away." At that point I was just sitting there thinking "so why wouldn't you go and get another cape." (In hindsight I probably should have said something but I think that a professional would have rectified the situation instead of making it through the hour long process with the same problematic cape.) While Tina was cutting my hair into this short cut, she was telling me about a client she had yesterday who wanted a pixie cut and when she was done cutting it she felt bad because it "looked like shit." Number one: how unprofessional to swear in front of a client. Number two: why on earth would you be telling someone whose hair you are currently cutting short that the last short haircut you did the day before turned out looking poorly? Good grief. My hair is naturally curly which I told her as she was washing my hair. I told her I never wore it curly because I didn't like the way it looked on me. When she started to cut my hair she act surprised when it started to curl immediately as she was cutting. She then started scrunching it up to make it curlier, telling me it would be so cute curly and that I should wear it that way. I again told her I didn't like to wear it curly so she started to dry it. She also cut my bangs which I said (and showed the picture) that I wanted a long sideswept bang starting at my eyebrow. Upon drying it, I told her I didn't want it really poofy but I liked volume in the crown. She blew the whole thing dry with a round brush (keep in mind how short this style is) and when she was done I told her it looked way to poofy for me. She started to flat iron it down and when she was done she turned me toward the mirror. First, I noticed my bangs did not look good. They were way too short and they were just laying on my forehead not sideswept like I wanted. She pulled them out and laid them straight across and said I could wear them like that. I told her that was not what I wanted now what I asked for or showed her. She wet them and tried to dry and straighten them again but they still did not look good because they were too short. Second, I noticed (and so did she) that one side was noticeably longer than the other. When I brought it up she said, oh ya, you're right! At this point I was VERY concerned. She went back and forth on the sides of my hair for about 10 minutes trying to get them evened out. I was so frustrated. In the end, I told her I still didn't feel like it looked even and she kept pulling down on the sides and telling me it "definitely was even". I gave up and she took the cape off and had to use her blowdryer to blow the hair off my neck, back, and shirt because of the poor fastening. I told her I was really unhappy with how the bangs turned out and she said she was sorry. I paid 35 dollars (not sure if that is the standard rate or if she charged me less because I was unhappy with the finished product) and I left. When I got home, I had to shower because there were still tiny, itchy hairs all over my neck and back. I dried and attempted to style my hair again and once again noticed the uneven length in the sides and the bangs that are just awful. I have followed up with another stylist to see if I can get it fixed tomorrow. I got this haircut because I am going to see family I haven't seen in 2 years and wanted to look nice and right now, I am embarrassed to see them with this cut. read more

She does both of mine and my daughter's hair! We will not go to anyone else! She'll do your hair just the way you want it! If you don't know what you want, she will make you look good no matter what! I didn't want to pay top dollar for services and this salon definitely fit what I was looking for. This place is a mid-priced salon that's clean and modern inside. The stylist I used, Haddie, was friendly, professional, listened to what I wanted, asked questions, then gave me a great cut that reshaped my distressed and over-grown mane. I first found this place about 2 month ago. I have alway have had long hair but decided to get a pixie cut. I was a walk in and got Tina V. Told her what I wanted, showed her a picture. She was very slow but did a very good job. It was perfect. I loved it and told her I would be back. I went back two weeks ago and I am sorry I did. The first time the owner was there, this last time the owner wasn't. I told her I wanted just a trim. 1/4 of an inch. She was constantly talking and very very loud. It actually hurt my ears. She was cussing and not professional at all. She took about 3/4 of an inch of hair, the back of my head looked like I was bald. She took my bangs which have a swoop to them, she spoke out loud, " what happened here" before I could say anything, she literally chopped them while there were to the side. It now looks like someone put a bowl on my head and started to cut and changed there mind. I am pretty easy going on my hair because it always grows back but I felt like she could care less. I won't go back to her. The reason I gave it 2 stars is because everything else about the salon is very nice and everyone else acted professional. read more

I made a long awaited appointment with Cynthia Martinez after I read some decent reviews about her work, I assumed she would be good. Boy, was I sadly mistaken! I have to say that in the 7 years I've lived in Sierra Vista combined with the many different stylists that I have seen, she had to be the worst hair nightmare doer that I stumbled upon in a long time! To make a long story short, I came in wanting a dark auburn color & received a bright orange color instead, in which I was not happy with at all!! She agreed to cover it up for me because I couldn't and wouldn't leave that salon looking like a pumpkin! She covered the orange with a solid darker color in which she chose. So 2 color dyes, 3 washes, a 3 minute haircut and no style because she said she didn't have the time and 4 1/2 hours later, I left. I went home showered, rinsed & styled my hair only to discover that my hair color was so dark, it was near black. She also left some of my hair uncut with long, thin stringy pieces just hanging there that I was unable to style. I texted her right away to see if she would fix it and got no answer. Well, perhaps she's busy and she'll get back to me the next morning I thought, nope!! no answered text from her at all. So around 10am the next day I went back in the salon hoping she would kindly squeeze me in to trim and fix. I asked the young lady at the desk to see her and she went over to talk with her. She had another client in the chair at the time when she turned around and glared at me in an angry stare. I asked her if she could squeeze me in for a quick 10 minute fix and she said NO! I'm booked all day! I asked her when she could fit me in and she replied, I don't know, I'm booked all week! I then asked her if another stylist who wasn't doing anyone at the time could and she told me NO! I said can I get a refund then? and she replied NO, there's nothing wrong with your hair! I left that salon in utter shock! I have never in my life been treated so badly by a so called hair professional who couldn't care less about the people who put their trust in her care. I might as well have taken the $150 that I paid her and flushed it down the toilet. My hard earned money was well wasted! read more

I came in yesterday to get a perm, I had called many salons asking if they took walk ins for a perm and Caitlin was very sweet and took me an hour after I called. The perm came with a haircut as well which I thought was great and I enjoyed the 4 hours I was there, keep in mind perms are a very long process. Neat and beautiful salon, very cozy and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. I had Tina V, she trimmed by bob and gave me some adorable bangs. Loved her work and loved that she was upfront and honest about the maintenance of certain styles and whether they'd work for me and my routine. While I was there I received a flower, chocolate, and a free gift. All of which I'm sure aren't a regular occurrence, something for Mother's Day I'm sure, but it was a lovely gesture. Visited this new salon today. Cynthia was my stylist. She was friendly and I liked her vibe. She was honest about being new to Aveda which I liked. They other staff were very friendly, and helped with some color tips but let her go to work which I also thought was a professional courtesy. Staff are very professional and low key not a lot of talking, or running about. Salon has a good aesthetic to it, has a lot of light and is very clean. They offer water and refreshing foot spa. Normal Aveda products sold here. Prices are reasonable for an Aveda salon and this area. I loved my color and cut. I booked my next appt which I never do regularly. I like the location. Some things that I hope they might offer if the business grows that other Aveda spas offer are optional hand massages and potentially sell more Aveda products. All in all love this salon and the staff, I would highly recommend. read more

Cynthia Martìnez works magic on your hair. She can correct any color, create any color style that you wish. I am a natural brunette with red tones in my hair but love to have my hair blond. No other beautician has ever been able to give me the blond color that I want. It would always have an orange undertone. Cynthia gives me the nice blond I like. She is a true artist when it comes to hair color and styles. I highly recommend her!! The salon is nice and serene and the staff makes you feel welcome. Finally a worthwhile salon in Sierra Vista.
