I went in today because I was interested in a couple of watches as soon as I walked in the team was absolutely so warm and so welcoming. I walked over to the area with the watches, they were able to answer my question. They showed them to me. They were very knowledgeable about the pieces and even walked me through the authentication process overall just an incredible experience. Great job guys. This business is an absolute mess. I dropped off 9 items here over two months ago and haven't received a single update. For several weeks my items were apparently on hold because someone copied my email address wrong, but no one thought to tell me. After countless wasted hours on the phone and in chat conversations with representatives, I still haven't received a SINGLE update about thousands of dollars worth of clothing and bags I handed over to these people. Might I add that this comes only after MONTHS of their sales associates hounding me to sell with them - so I finally give in and this is how I'm treated? Now I hear nothing from them. Someone I'm assuming is outsourced assures me that they're looking into the matter and that I can expect an email in 3-5 business days, then 7-10 days, now 10-12 days. Again, it's been months at this point and I've heard NOTHING. As far as I'm concerned, TRR has effectively lost or stolen my items. I have no other recourse than to post a review like this because they've done nothing to help me despite ME providing THEM with inventory! As of July 7th, 2022 I received an update that The Real Real had lost my items. This is so embarrassing for a business like this. If you're considering consigning with them, don't. You'd probably have a better experience on Craigslist. They peddle luxury goods, but don't expect luxury customer service! read more

Feels like this store is intended for people who normally shop luxury and don't think twice about budget, but are looking to reduce their carbon footprint by buying secondhand; not for folks shopping secondhand to get luxury items at a reasonable price. " THE FAKE FAKE" purchased a Fendi and Prada bag online and I received counterfeits. The chain on the Fendi bag were a dead give away once I opened the package. I sent back for "re-authentication" and they wont refund me they told me I can only resell it. This company needs to be sued or taken down. Definitely taking advantage of people. With the $3500 dollars I spent, I could of went to china town or purchased one REAL bag from actual Fendi. read more

Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because up until December I had had a good experience with TRR but recently I dropped off an item that they lost and since then I have had such atrocious customer service I can't even believe it. I've emailed them maybe 7 times and have gone unanswered and spent HOURS on the phone with them and each time I explain the whole situation, they tell me they can't locate my item even though I got a confirmation from them that it was in process, then they put me on hold to look into it and then after about an hour they hang up. That has happened to me 4 or 5 times now. Ive tried asking for a manager and they won't put one on the phone. I FINALLY got in touch with someone more helpful who was so apologetic after reading my file with all of my unanswered emails and he promised to get back in touch with me within 5-7 days with a resolution. He followed up with an email confirming he'd get back to me soon. That was on 2/9. On 2/22 I emailed to check-in and didn't receive a reply. Today is 2/27 and still haven't heard back from anyone but I finally see that my item is listed on my consignment page as "sold". There's no indication of how much it sold for or a picture of the listing or anything. No one has communicated with me. This has gone on for months. It's really unbelievable. I don't plan on consigning with them again unless they make this right. read more

I have found some really great items on this site, however in the last two years things have changed And gone down hill. They will describe an item as pristine or excellent with no visible sign of wear and it shows up with holes, stains and missing pieces. I'm heading to Tradsey and Farfetched. I will never buy from the real real ever again. I bought 2 pairs of Prada sunglasses and a pair of Gucci sunglasses all within 6 weeks of each other and ever pair came broken or quickly fell apart.I was able to repair the Gucci and first pair of Prada , but the second pair of Prada came with a broken frame and the broken piece of the frame was missing so it was sent in two pieces. So I start a return of the damaged Prada glasses only to find out that the real real is going to charge me $12 to return an item they sent to me damaged. I tried to reach out to the real real and have not heard back from them. In my opinion their business model of sending out defected items then overcharging for their return is is unsustainable and unconscionable ! read more

I have never written a review on Yelp, but I feel compelled to give The RealReal the strongest negative rating based on my extremely poor experience at this location. I made an appointment to meet with a "Luxury Manager" in the store to submit two items for consignment. They accepted and took possession of my items during our in-person meeting. Days later they informed me via email that my items could not be accepted after all, due to minor imperfections and that the items would be returned to me. Fair enough. However, now, nearly 3 months later, after multiple emails, I haven't received the items back. I have had several emails with the store representative with whom I met, Melanie Kantor ("Luxury Manager"), who repeatedly promised that these items would be sent back to me, and then stopped responding to my emails. Most recently, after I pushed for a response, she told me she couldn't help to track my items and told me to call a separate number for a "Consignor Relations" representative. I feel this is very poor customer service. The lack of empathy and lack of respect for clients' possessions is stunning, as well as the absence of any accountability or responsibility. Fortunately, the person at Consignor Relations, with whom I spoke after waiting on hold a while, was able to "put in a request" to return the items to me. Evidently, despite saying in her emails that she would check on the items and manage their return to me, Melanie (the "Luxury Manager" who was my contact at the store and who had solicited my items) had never actually put in a return request. While I'm hopeful for a final resolution, I remain extremely disappointed with the customer service, and I will never attempt to consign or shop at The RealReal again. read more
