Office staff seems unable to determine if they take insurance or not. Website said yes both Medicare and Medicaid. I filled out the pre-approval online and was accepts. After many calls over a period of 2 weeks it was determined NO insurance is allowed. $25,000 per 30 days. Will not bill secondary insurance either. Very confusing place. Probably not the experience you want for your loved one. Unless, your a cash payer then hope treatment is better than intake. read more

Honestly find another Rehab in Florida! Goes by Orlando Recovery Center trying to deceive patients into thinking it's a different Rehab Center! Both Lee & Ashley were very RUDE as I simply called to get more details in saying at their facility greeted with HOSTILITY especially by first Ashley who refused to allow me to speak to her Supervisor or the Director? Ashley claims there are no Supervisors, no M.D.'s that there isn't a Director then had the audacity to ask me WHY I called back? Lee said if you bring your cell phone with your prescriptions both will be DESTROYED upon entering their facility they strip you down to search your body/clothes than all of your belongings! I would NOT recommend this formerly aka Recovery Village to be anyone's prison! While Lee sounded like she was reading a script she judged me! She has not given me any assurance my needs would be met only greeted me with more HOSTILITY after Ashley she confessed kept hanging up the phone 4x in less than two minutes. SKIP IT! Detox on your own as smoking cigs. is allowed per Ashley she said inside the building when I simply asked what the policy is? She had a bad attitude so much for Detox or any type of "Treatment" Plan. Thplace will have you drive half way across the state and tell you hours after you get here that you can not stay. After a long interview over the phone, insurance accepted and approved then a long drive I was brought to this poop stain of a treatment facility that literally told me hours later my insurance did not go through and I was put out on the street. Then, a year later My cousin was desperate and they ran him through the gambit and it was to all be good until he got there and had a blister on his foot and he was also put out on the street. The previous reviews all tell the reasons why anyone should choose ANY OTHER OPTION for treatment or detox before you buy the lies they sell you on line and in person. The place is a total sham and the people have no regard for the welfare of others. Make the first good decision and go ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THIS DISAPPOINTMENT OF A FACILITY. I was there for detox only. I was not made aware that vapes were prohibited until admission. All of my medical needs were met.

This place has really fallen down hill. They are understaffed and still using COVID as an excuse to cut costs. For detox they quarantine you off for 5 to 10 days from the rest of the facility so all you have to do is smoke cigarettes and watch TV. It feels like a state run facility rather than a private one. They were not treating people like the other rehabs I've been to have done. Especially those coming off opiates. Thankfully it was only mild alcohol withdrawals for me but they were absolutely pathetic on their treatment standards. The techs are miserable and as rude as they come. They even argue back with the patients and went so far as to team up and scold several of the patients when the he quality of care (or lack thereof) was brought to their attention. They don't take anything anyone says serious and it's their way or the highway. They completely abuse their authority and power. Tanika was especially memorable. She started getting really rough and agitated with the garbage cans and the chairs in the cafeteria throwing them into the tables and into the walls as she was cleaning. Her and a few other techs and the nurses who administered the meds would completely talk down to you and everyone who was there. I left after 4 days the service was so terrible. This was the third rehab I have been too and it is by far the worst. I have been to their program in Colorado and it was much better. One reason I chose to go to this place was because I assumed they could transfer my files over from that one to this one. They pretty much told me they couldnt do that and they would make their own opinions. When I said I could sign a release of information they just strung me along. The staff had no de-escalation techniques. The techs are glorified janitors that are so lazy it doesn't even look like they cleaned up the common areas. They basically sit and watch TV during the graveyard shifts. Go to this rehab if you want to go in triggered and leave triggered. The only thing they had going for them was the food. They have essentially one person for each position (nurse practitioner, Dr, etc.). For $3000 a day you have to start asking yourself where all the money is going. It's not going into bettering the quality of treatment that for sure. Don't take my word for it. Find out for yourself if you would like. Four people left in the four days I was there to transfer to another facility. I'd recommend the Beaches in Jacksonville. RV is run like a state run facility on the detox side. It's as good as somewhere that you'd be sent to if you were Baker Acted or Marchman Acted (trust me I know). There wasn't even books and about ten dvd options. Moreover if you wanted to make sure you were being taken care of, the patients had to essentially get irate in order for them to take notice of your needs and wants from the program. You shouldn't have to stay on top of them to get their jobs done but that's how it was. That doesn't even include the lack of professionalism. One of the therapist even made the comment that she can't deal with uneducated people and we were all educated for the most part. I ended up leaving four days in because it was so bad. I didn't have a phone or my numbers to call anyone and they wouldn't give me info for my emergency contact person. They acted like they didn't have it. They were essentially trying to keep me against my will at that point. Magically the number appeared I needed and that was after i had to talk to several managers after making a scene with the tech on duty. Then when I left they wouldnt let me use their phone to call my ride and they told me I had to leave the property while I was waiting. They pointed me to the nearest gas station and that was that. Terrible therapy! Not 12 step based. Barely CBT. Trauma therapist reports everything said in session that patient says to clinical director then patient is rapidly discharged reason unknown. Clinical director abruptly discharges patients, lying that insurance will not cover patient's stay or patient uncooperative with treatment. Physician wants patient to be treated however clinical director over rides MD and discharges patients. Room of patients only hospital bed and no television. Multiple patients denied substance abuse and mental health treatment. read more

To begin with the TRV in Umatilla falsely advertises their amenities. The pool has been shut down for at least a year, (according to patients that were there a year before). There are no Equine (horses) or Canine (dogs) on the property. There are up to 80 patients there at a time. In 4 weeks I had 2 counselling sessions and the first was just an informational gathering session. I did have one couple counselling session with my wife as well. I got sick with a respiratory issue where I coughed all night keeping my roommate and people in the next room over awake. It took 3 days to get antibiotics and a week to get an inhaler. All the time I never missed a session. There was inconsistency with case managers. Often requests to meet with financial office, case manager, and therapist tooks days to respond. They seem to want to keep you at the lowest level of care your insurance will pay for as the lower level, the higher the cost. I was kept in detox for an entire weekend because "someone didn't check the box OK" on Friday when medical had cleared me. Visitation by family is also misstated as you have to move up a level of care from basic residential to PHP. That takes about a month. Phone use is also very limited with 2-30 min calls allowed per week and one 30 min cell phone use per week. Not enough time to communicate with family and to handle business issues at home I had to leave a few days short of 30 days because of health insurance change and when I decided to leave on the 29th to make it more convenient for my family to come get me, instead of the 30th as they wanted (an extra day of insurance?) I was considered an unapproved departure. I knew I was being classified as incomplete because I didn't finish 30 days but it just wasn't possible. However, I never missed a session and participated regularly but was told "performance doesnt matter" when labeling me as unapproved, Ultimately it didn't make much difference except some ot the staff basically treated me as if I was escaping the program and not supporting me in my departure or future care. The medical staff and all BHE personal supported my Approved departure but the therapists didn't. Unfortunate that I spent about 4 weeks there and sent home without support and a bad taste in my mouth. read more

By far the worst recovery center. NOT clean, healthy, professional, or worthwhile. Crabs / Scabies outbreak. All patients were ordered to take their clothes off in front of a doctors panel. (degrading) Fights constantly among clients. Furniture thrown/ broken. No staff intervention. No phone system to call loved ones. ( Those that are weak, lose to the "bullies" that cut in line" ) I was tossed around to 3 different counselors, which made it hard to connect. (Also makes me wonder about your turnover) Was slapped with insurance charges immediately after my discharge. Even though these terms were settled upfront. This is just bad business. Word of mouth means a lot..... I would NEVER take my own life into my hands (which is what we do) and place it at this facility. They overcharge, over promise and under deliver. Do NOT attend. If you or a loved one has an addiction and needs help DO NOT go or send them here. This facility is filthy and not a safe environment with Covid-19. They take your temperature daily that's it. So many problems with this facility I could go on & on. I received absolutely no counseling while there so I decided to look into another facility that WOULD be helpful for the $. Once they realize you've had enough of their disorganization they all turn into jerks and won't let you use the phone or give you back your property short of threatening to call police for being held against your will. This facility is run like a militant boot camp. I've never felt so incarcerated and punished for being an alcoholic. I came willingly to detox and it turned into a nightmare that I won't soon forget. One thing I noticed that any over the counter medication like Advil/Tylenol antacids were from the (The Dollar Store)! I can't imagine what they are charging insurance companies? These are quite possibly the worst people I've encountered in recovery circles. At the recommendation of a friend employed by Advanced Recovery Systems, the operator of The Recovery Village, I presented myself for detoxification from alcohol in January, with the intention of staying there for a minimum of four weeks. During my intake assessment, the nursing staff concluded that I was too ill to be detoxed in their facility and I had no choice but to be taken to an out of network hospital to which I now owe in excess of $30,000. After discharge from the hospital, I went back to The Recovery Village. The staff that seemed so caring during my initial assessment were now belligerent, and refused to admit me. On top of that, they said they were "working with the hospital" to have my stay extended. As if running up a $30,500 tab wasn't enough. To anyone who might be reading this looking for treatment, you don't need to pay thousands of dollars to a residential treatment facility to stay sober/clean. You just need a genuine desire not to drink or use again, a good therapist and psychiatrist with reasonable copays that will help you sort out your psychiatric and psychological issues and a good sponsor who will help you work a solid program. read more

Had my brother admitted as a patient here three weeks ago. Have left dozens of voicemails to this facility only to hear nothing back. If you call their central number, the people who answer cannot help you as the number they are provided is the same number I've left the voicemails to. If you miss your loved one's call by 30 seconds, tough luck. The return number leads to an "unavailable party." Let's just say that my first experience in rehab was interesting. What I didn't expect was that the patients around me would look after and take care of us better than anyone else in that place. The BHTs (Trina and Tameka) have no bedside manner whatsoever. Tameka being the worst. I don't know how they let such a raging egotistical bitch work with patients. Especially the elderly. Tameka should be sued for elder abuse after what she did to the elderly lady in there. The poor thing had an accident and asked Tameka to help her. 45 min later after the 90yr old cleaned up the bed and floor herself.......Tameka walked by and told her it was a good thing she had cleaned the mess up or she would be a sleeping in it because Tameka was not going to help her clean it up. What if that was your mother? Your sister? Who in the right mind....that works with patients.... says that stuff to a 90yr old woman!! It is bad enough I heard that story..... but there are so many more stories of Trina and Tameka ganging up on patients..... taking away privileges like phone calls to family.... which is important in there. Btw... they have no authority to take anything away from you. The experience overall was not bad. I learned a lot from Lauren and Tobi since my therapist Makeba never made time for my one on one after I asked repeatedly. I am a better person because of that place but it was not without its dark side.. BUT..... those 2 women do not deserve to work with people. They both should be fired. Ohhh wait a min. They are best friends and Tameka is in with the head of corporate..... I will go to every news station I can that will listen and I will expose them every chance I get because justice needs to be served for that 90yr old who was abused at the hand of one egotistical cunt. I was told my insurance would cover it. I was given a 10k bill 2 years after discharge. I was lied to about many things like frequent strip searches and trauma treatment. Do not go here if you have real trauma. They will not treat you unless you have minor trauma. I was lied to over and over and manipulated. Our son was there for two days and did not see a counselor. Place was overcrowded and staff didn't know what his status was. He left after two days and we were hit with $4,600 bill without a breakdown of services. This is part of a chain of facilities, and we suspect they are taking great advantage of insurance companies and individuals. Ok, I just talked to the most amazing person that I have had the privilege of speaking with in the past few years since my mom has passed. She listened to everything that I had to say with out interrupting, or judging. She gave me what I needed to get what I needed in Texas since I could not attend in Florida. I was appreciated, encouraged, and felt all around very confident and happy after speaking with her. Truly a remarkable person. I would 100% invest in yall's services because I spoke with her. She also shared personal information about her self that must have been difficult to speak about, which made me feel not so alone and also showed how strong and amazing she was. The woman I speak of is none other than Ms.Lisa. I didn't get a last name for some reason. I was probably too focused on the fact that there is still decent people in the world who care about someone besides themselves. It was an instant connection that I will be nourishing from now and further out. I can say that I love her and would sometime in the future love the opportunity to meet her and treat her to something special for what she has given me today. I am 27, in a relationship, and lost my mother to cancer almost 3 years ago. I work hard every day, respect others (even if I don't want to), invest fully into every thing that I start and agree upon, and help others no matter how much I know them or think they don't deserve it. Lisa is what other employees should strive to be like and she is also someone who strives to be strong and effective in overcoming great feats that occur in your life. I was trying to go to this program to safely detox off subutex. I live in Colorado and I found a website that looked like a really nice rehab in Colorado Springs. The weird thing is ALL of my calls were redirected to the rehab in Orlando. When I asked if I could talk to a healthcare professional at the Colorado location I was told "no" but wasn't given a reason. The admissions staff LIED to my parents and told them I have an active eating disorder and the only way they could help me was if I flew all the way to Orlando. I had a very strange feeling about this. The staff members were unhelpful and acted more like salesman. They tried to convice my parents that they would buy a flight for my mom and I out there, and then buy me another flight home. I kept insisting that I had no reason to go to Orlando when they offer a medical detox in Colorado Springs and asked why i couldn't go there. They just told me I would "get better care" if i went to Orlando. I looked at the reviews on Yelp and I am absolutely horrified! This place is a complete SCAM! They trick people that don't live in Florida that they have to go to their program and then they don't help you with anything once you're there. This place disgusts me and it makes me horribly sad that places like this still exist. I am extremely lucky that I was able to aviod this place. Horrific. It's a wonder that this establishment (if that's what you call it) is still in business. It's BRAND new, and will no doubt go down in flames. I was a patient at this facility in Sept 2013-Oct. They claimed to have SUPERB insurance coverage with a fairly low entrance fee. However, when I discharged and returned home I received upwards of 10k in lab work fees. Why? Because instead of sending my lab work to a diagnostic company WITHIN my insurance policy, they chose a small, local lab that no one has ever heard of. Thus, making all my labs that should have been covered- %100 out of pocket. This is ridiculous given that I have top on the line insurance that is fully covered by all major lab corporations. As a patient, we are admitted, and completely removed from society (as you should be to facilitate recovery) but all the decisions regarding insurance are subsequently handled by RV's inept staff. No one goes to rehab wanting to declare BANKRUPTSY upon discharge. I traveled all the way from Colorado to go here, and I should have picked ANY other facility than this one. They WILL medicate you while there, but will not send you home with any, or EVEN a script to fill when you arrive home. I went home COLD TURKEY, even though I had paid for all my medications that were left there. My personal supply of antidepressants were used during my stay and they kept them. This sets patients up for failure if they are unable to IMMEDIATLY see a physician upon returning home. Furthermore I was sent a bill for "medications" that were not described or detailed in the invoice. I refused payment until I know what I am being billed for. I have made several attempts to speak to the finance department at the Recovery Village and have yet to received a reply. I am livid every time I think back upon this experience. Not a place for mental illness I got worse instead of better. If I was an addict or alcoholic then this would of been a good place to go to. The communication throughout the staff is awful, also there is favoritism. When I went I was told that I would be given my meds that I brought with me, well thats not true the destroyed them they said I was a addict for being on klonopin. I don't care if I have to be on this medicine for the rest of my life because it's the only thing that works for me. I was having the worst panic attacks there after the klonopin left my body and nothing I did made it better, I didn't sleep for 3 days straight so I went home worse instead of better. They kept telling me to give it more time that I would get better, but everything they were teaching me I already tried since I was a kid. So for mental illness this is definitely not the place to go! read more

In a nutshell: People who enter The Recovery Village do NOT get any access to the pool, koi pond, cafeteria, men's lounge, women's lounge, or gym until after a patient has been there for a couple weeks. All patients in TRV change rooms at least 4 times during their stay, and they have to load up all of their belongings on a cart each time they move. People in TRV are only allowed to make two phone calls a week, each call being only twenty minutes. They only have two washer and dryers to accommodate the 40 or 50 people that stay there. A patient is supposed to have a one-on-one session with their assigned therapist at least once a week, but my therapist didn't meet with me two of the weeks I was there. I should have had 4 one-on-ones, but I only had 2. My therapist was a narcissist, and he thought that he could tell exactly who I was and what my personality is simply because I said I didn't like the movie "Good Will Hunting". While I was at TRV, I had my Kindle e-reader (that I was allowed to have on the unit) stolen from me by my roommate and another patient while I was sleeping. They both were trying to use it to get internet service on it. Electronics that get internet access or have a camera on them are not allowed in TRV, but walkmans and iPods are allowed. Once my stolen device was recovered, the techs did nothing to address the two thieves, but they took my e-reader away from me and locked it up as if it were contraband by a tech, and I couldn't have it for the rest of my stay. The thieves kept their smoke breaks and their iPods. I asked to change rooms after learning my roommate stole from me. They switched my room with a young man named who intentionally failed to mention to me that he urinated on the mattress the several nights he had slept on it. It was soaked straight through to the box spring. I informed the techs, and I told them that I needed a new mattress. I was not going to sleep in somebody else urine, I had already touched it with my hands when I made the discovery while putting on bedsheets. The tech was busy playing on his cellphone, as most of the techs did, and he told me that I couldn't get a new mattress until the next morning and I would have to literally sleep on it for the night. I said that was unacceptable and that it needed to be changed. The tech then told me, "You can't order me around like I'm your slave. Those days are over white boy." That was outrageous and uncalled for. This tech, who happened to be Black, used his race as a reason why he didn't have to get me a new mattress, and he accused me, and I happen to be White, of being like a "slave owner". Unacceptable. He had a 1-day clean NA key-chain attached to his keys, but he was clearly not working a program himself. The food at TRV is as awful as can be. The only really edible and enjoyable thing to eat there were the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that only people in the Detox unit get. The joke we had there, and it is dark, was, "I bet they had better food in a concentration camp." There was an awful tech at TRV who had a George Zimmerman complex. He threw a hissy fit when I asked him to switch the soiled mattress with one from another room. This tech is clearly not working a program of recovery either. When the techs at a rehab center act unprofessional and are not working a good program of recovery themselves, that really triggers me and it was the main reason why I decided to leave early. Even the nurses who pass out meds are a little "off". In the nurses tiny rooms, there were several mystery pills that had been dropped on the floor and they just left them there. Patients at TRV were very sexually active. People were able to successfully couple up and have unprotected "contact" with each other, usually on Friday and Saturday nights during a movie that is shown in the cafeteria both nights. One woman patient had coupled with a young man and payed him with two of her cigarettes. One of the more disturbing things that happened at TRV was at night when everyone was asleep and the night techs were on duty. One male patient was able to successfully sneak out of his bedroom, walk down two hallways, pass the main dest where the techs are usually stationed, and enter a bedroom occupied by three women. While one girl slept, this male patient got naked and climbed right into her bed. This was an uninvited behavior, therefore it was a predatory act. All three women woke up screaming. After the incident, the girl was able to discharge later that day, but TRV chose to keep the male patient, who was named James, and he faced no punishment or consequence for his exploitive actions. People go to jail for that kind of thing, but not at TRV. They want to keep people as long as they can, so they can keep collecting money from insurance. First time I have been in a recovery program. Went to The Recovery Village located in Umatilla FL in the hope of receiving therapy for a dual diagnosis. Self admit with the instruction that I could leave if/when I felt was appropriate. Gave 100% to the program and gave it 3 weeks. When I told them I wanted to go home and continue therapy with a private therapist was told I would be leaving "AMA-against medical advice" by multiple non-medical personnel and was treated like a wayward child. When asked to use the phone (my cell phone had been taken from me upon admission) I was told that I was asking them to break company policy. Can not recommend this facility in anyway based upon my experiences there. Please do your research and DO NOT believe the information that is giving to you when you make an inquiry call. Multiple lies were told to me as well as to others that were then dismissed by in house staff as they said "they lie." Disappointing to say the least. read more

My fiancee' went in to Recovery Village for alcohol addiction and borderline personality disorder treatment. This place was one of the worst decisions of our lives. She was in for 45 days. She was constantly harassed by male patients. Patients were caught having sex - not thrown out. Patients were caught drinking - not thrown out. She was never treated for her mental illness, only went through detox and attended the meetings. Her therapists never contacted any of her family, communication was impossible - either to find out how she was doing, when she was scheduled to be released, or to discuss what to do after. The programs didn't work, and she was drinking less than 5 days after release. She said the management in there was terrible - policies were made up and changing constantly. Their sales people are quite caring and communicative until you get there. They'll tell you anything you want to hear to get you there. Lies after lies after lies. If you care about your loved one and want them to recover - send them somewhere else - anywhere else. read more
