This is by far the worst apartment experience I have ever had. The staff are extremely disrespectful to residents. They talk to you like you don't matter, and they don't listen when you have a problem. There is no professionalism at all. They can enter your apartment without proper notice, which made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. Privacy is clearly not respected here. Maintenance is terrible. Requests take forever, and when they finally come, they either don't fix the problem or do a very poor job. You end up dealing with the same issues again and again. The worst part is after you move out. Months later, they suddenly contact you saying you owe money, with no clear explanation. Then they threaten to send your account to collections if you don't pay. It feels dishonest and stressful. Overall, this place is unorganized, unprofessional, and does not care about its residents at all. Not a terrible place to live, but the dog shit problem is horrible it is everywhere, you can't walk on the grass and sometimes even the sidewalk. This place is the best at being the worst. Not only do they cater to and reward aggressive behavior from neighbors but then they will threaten to evict you if you attempt to get help. They charge insane hidden fees and additional monthly charges, they say they will accept a payment plan just to turn around and attempt to evict anyway, they charge you for water when the pool floods, they charge you for parking even with no car, they charge for everything up to and almost including the air you breathe...but the washers never worked so expect more charges to not be able to use the laundry. Staff is two faced and talk about you to other residents, encourage only certain residents to report on everyone, which the main tenants they reach out to for information on everyone is the most aggressive neighbor and has multiple complaints about them and their dogs that got 3+ bites on their record in just the 15 months i lived there. Finally they like to do illegal lockouts and change locks without notice or court orders in the middle of move out cleaning and have the nerve to charge cleaning fees as if they didnt bar people from doing that properly. I went in trying to apply for this place and since I was desperate to find a place I didn't bother to look at the reviews. Well mid filling out and paying the application fee a resident of the place asked for help and once I was just minding my business at the filling out my information at the young lady that helped me. The resident of the apartment goes on about how it's been a while since they have checked the cockroach problem. I legit wish so hard it wasn't true since I paid already and was almost done. ALLEN and SILA: The new and improved redwood office staff. Allen is a bright young man with a welcoming and sweet demeanor. He is the newest staff member but this man is great at his job. He is also fluent in Spanish. How wonderful it would be to have more hardworking, good, beautiful Hispanic families living at the Redwood.. SILA is the leasing agent. She completely has stolen the hearts of the residents at the Redwood apartments. She is so relatable and a friendly professional. And even though she is no nonsense like her colleagues The Chelsea's she has that winnning personality which conveys friendship. I am extremely grateful this staff is amazing. read more

Do not move here unless you are truly desperate for a place to stay. The prices on rooms are actually pretty good but the cost of the therapy you'll need after living here outweighs that benefit. The management is irreasponcible, forgetful, and has uncanny similarities to the Russian mob. 3 times in the same month I had a notification to the effect of , " bring a copy of your proof of renters insurance to the office by 6 p.m. tomorrow. Or you will be fined $200 a day we receive a copy." The first time I was upset and had to leave work early to get it to them on time. Even though i had already given them a copy when I moved in 6 months earlier. The second time I was just plain mad because I had already given them a copy a week before. And the third time I called in to see why to beck they kept losing my renters insurance confirmation and why they were so unorganized. Turns out the third one wasn't ment for me. It was for someone in a whole different building. They are so incompetent that they can't even put notices on the right doors. Before that, in about my third month there, they posted similar notices on EVERY FREAKING DOOR in the apartment stating that the renter was 7 days past due in their rent and that they they would have to pay the missing rent within 48 hours with $200 in late fees or they would be forcibly evicted . (See what I mean by Russian mob) "Bring money to office by tomorrow or we send ivan to break your fingers." Anyway, it turned out that their website malfunctioned and didn't process anyone's rent payment that month. Ok. But why didn't you think" wow! That's weird. No one paid their rent? Maybe we should figure out what happened. " Of course they always leave these kind of nasty extortion letters right before their office closes for the evening and you have to try to sleep knowing this incredibly stressful thing is hanging over your head all night and the next day at work. Then, if your like me and you work 9 to 5, you will have to leave work early since they are only open 9-6. Point is don't move here. read more

To say anything positive about this place is they at least had people come on time to fix anything that broke and they'd fix it. The pool and Rec room were decent. It is close by to a lot of restaurants, the mall and trax. They allow dogs (which I hate because nobody there can leash and train them.) The rent was a reasonable price and the complex was kept clean and they made some nice renovations. Beyond that, it was a truly AWFUL place to live. This scathing review will only scratch the surface of the problems I had there. Their poor management that keeps trading hands staffed by ditzy hot girls is the first thing that comes to mind. Read the other review all about that. ALL TRUE! The cost to run their old, dinky AC/heat units made the electric bill on a studio apartment $100/month. Their stoves look like something out of the 50's and hardly worked and mine came semi broken. The coils are uneven and only work on high. The oven too burns everything so much that I ate out every night and never bothered cooking. Speaking of ovens, the laundry room has ZERO ventilation and is hot as an oven in the summer. The windows won't open in there and both doors won't open making it so you have to walk around. The mail room also locks at a certain time which seems pointless considering they have locks on the mailboxes. The parking stalls are nowhere near adjacent to the building you live in. Everyone smokes and had smoked in your apartment beforehand so it is impossible to get rid of the smell. While some of the people are respectable, nice and courteous, there are the number of typical, cliche West Valley trash. Domestic disputes heard through your paper thin walls and gang bangers. Our neighbor stole my girlfriend's bike. Then later her bike tire. I was just amazed I could open my door each day to see that my stuff was still there. Be sure you get renters insurance when you move here and lock up your bikes and take the bike tires off. Some of the people look so scary that I didn't want to make eye contact with anyone. I'm confused how so much riffraff could be approved there when it seemed like they ran a background check. (Which I now realize was oddly quick.) There was literally a cop car in the parking lot once a week. I would not recommend living here for anyone trying to save a buck. If you can't afford anywhere else may God have mercy on your soul. read more

This place was out of desperation. my wife and I had about 2 weeks to move from California to Utah, due to my job relocating me. The whole start up process of full of hidden fees that you have to pay. They're greedy when it comes to money, they charge little fees here and there that over a month can add up to 50-100 easy. They charge you 5 bucks to even pay them online. The actual 1 bedroom that's more like a studio apartment honestly is old and you can tell they use the whole " paint over it " method. It has old style electric stoves from the 80 that are uneven and semi broken. The fridge is the same one that has been there for about 20 years. The whole complex smells of cigarettes and even your apartment will smell of it. The place looks nice from afar and it is kept pretty clean but YOU COULD PAINT A TURD GOLD BUT IT WILL STILL BE A TURD. I would highly recommend you stay away from this place at all cost. Upon move in there were many broken things, the apartment was not cleaned, and the oven was left on. Even after notifying the office of the issues nothing was done to help our situation. We had to pay the electric bill for the oven being on even though we were not living in the apartment during that time. After moving in our oven shot out flames when we tried to heat it up. There are cockroaches everywhere. Even after exterminators have been in the problem has not been solved or even gotten better. You can see outside from a crack between the door and the frame. This let's all of the cold air in and no matter how long the heater runs the apartment stays freezing. The maintenance have not fixed this issue even after being notified. Neighbors are rude and often bang on our walls in the middle of the night. Overall this apartment has been awful and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Choosing to move into the Redwood Apartments was a Huge mistake! Front office Management and their Receptionists are Rude, Disrespectful and operate an unethical approach. I have contacted the front office for a number of complaints, each time the front office Manager and the other receptionist and a male, have disregarded each complaint with no follow through. -T above, beside, and behind Smoke Cigarettes, and Marijuana in their apartments; the smell does filter through the vents in my Laundry Room/Closet, Bathroom and Kitchen -Tenants in adjacent buildings including my own; are structured in one bedroom and studio units. There are a number of these units with Occupants of 5 to 12 persons. This includes the Tenants occupying the one bedroom beside me- She has had 12 persons in the unit 3 adults and 9 children ranging from ages 4 to 6-8 Months old for months at a time. -I have witnessed drug deals; at any time of the day. -Occupants with Cops being called on several times for loud Music and Parties through early morning hours, Fights including domestic violence -Most recently 07/05/16; the front office notified 1 week prior informing certain areas of the complex cars needed to be moved however the flyer attached to my door did not include my parking spot the flyer informed they would notify when other cars needed to move. We were informed to park alongside the back of the complex and also the front office. We found out by the Construction crew the flyer was wrong and if we didn't move our cars would have been towed at our cost. Today 07/05- after parking near front office as were were told this morning I was approached by a grounds person (male) if I didn't move my car I would be towed again at my cost and told me he didn't know where my car would end up. -I asked him why we were not notified? And how is it lawful for the The Redwood apartments to charge for a tow without notification prior to this event? he shrug his shoulders and told me the Front office is to blame. Luckily I had stopped by my car to grab something and he had happened to inform me because I had a carpool to work.\ Later this morning I called the front office and spoke to the receptionist had answered the phone, Politely requested the Corporate Management office to file a complaint. She immediately told me No, she would not be giving me the number or the name of the company. I asked once more in a slightly demanding tone and she then told me to Hold on while scoffing rude remarks under her breath, The Manager answers the phone and immediately told me No she wouldn't give me the number I have requested; she followed through with "It was inadequate planning on our part with the parking and construction situation but if you were charged for towing you are still responsible for the cost, regardless of notice" With her response, immediately I demanded the corporate number or I will be filing a complaint further with BBB she finally gave up the information but told me "This number I am providing you with is only a complaint line, no further action will be done" Her phone was muffled and she mentioned the company was A&P or AMP and no name (801) 912-8304 when I called it was immediately answered by automated system saying being transferred to an extension no name of the company was mentioned. If she had have the mind I can get this information on my contract. I will further this complaint to the fullest and ensure the Front office staff, especially The Manager (whom also lives in the complex) is reprimanded for her Disrespectful mannerisms, and unethical approaches to complaints and not following through. As a Manager she is very short tempered and condescending, and cannot handle complaints which leads to confrontations. She sets a poor example for the Management company and should lose her job. Management or its employees SHOULD NEVER hang up on a tenant or dismiss them because she may be having a bad day or doesn't want to hear complaints. She has hung up on me and other receptionist for no reason at all. I would MOVE OUT immediately if I didn't have to pay an atrocious termination fee. I would never refer any friends, family or people off the streets to live here LOOK for another place to live. read more

So glad I didn't sign the lease. Two words: renters scam. You might have gotten my non-refundables, but you're not getting a dime more. Repeatedly lied to about rent prices, availability (acted like there was only 1 studio left but then offered me another studio to keep me sucked in), hidden fees, wouldn't extend hold on unit for me by one week even though I was moving cross country and paid hundreds of dollars for the initial hold (the non-refundables), and said I aggreed to things over the phone I would never have agreed to. What made me know this is a scam is that a week after I ended contact (just didn't respond to the jacked up rent on the lease), I recieved a call about it. Turns out gabby "moved on" from the company. What a red flag! Is she even a real person? Do they cycle people around to avoid legal issues. The biggest lesson I learned being a young guy is to make sure everything is in writing upfront. When I first called, I asked for all rent and fees and was given a very small number. I should have had that emailed to me so I could have taken these people to court when they tried to trap,and scam me. I have lived here for 6 months and I am moving out only reason for two stars is because Management fixed my rent and my pet fees like they told me over the phone before I even steeped foot in Utah. Management is one of the best that I have ever worked with.Only great thing I can say about this place. I have a stove burner that is broke and because it heats a little bit and I have showed them more then once compared to my other burners that it was not holding up they said oh its fine. the water heaters only allow for a 10 minute hot shower. the prices just keep going up and up. drugs around, hear wanna be gangsters running around threatening to shoot people or or kick this or that persons ass. Apartments are very small for what you pay. You can find double the space for a few hundred more if you can afford it. I will update my score to a three depending on how smooth the move out goes. I am realistic on the move out and know I will have a couple fees such as carpet wash and two burner covers. They have to wash carpets because what if someone moves in that is allergic to animals anyone that has an animal should expect to pay this fee it is only fair. read more

One word: greed. This complex has changed management several times during the past 2.5 years I've lived here, each time was a disaster. Just recently I was informed that my rent would increase by $84/month, and according to the current manager, Casey, some families saw increases of up to $120/ month. Same old apartment, no promised upgrades or perceivable improvements in the complex...they just feel like charging more money. That would put my rent with utilities at about $850.00 for a one bedroom apartment that is really more of a studio. This is including all the petty fees they tack on month to month. Previously the PM would send out a notice 2 months in advance detailing any rent increases, but not this time. They prey on situated tenants just paying the increase. They've gone way too far. This is seriously the worst place I have ever lived in my life! My apartment is infested with ants spiders earwigs etc. my rent is suppose to be 575 but if you hit day 4 of their "grace period" it jumped to 960$!! When you question them about the fees they said they didn't know what they were for and I was recently late again and they hid it in the rent so it doesn't show on paper! There are cops and druggies constantly in and out ALL night. I see domestics almost daily. People come thru trying to bum off everyone, my neighbor has been broken into and robbed 3 TIMES!!! Cars getting stolen hit and broken into. Security guard is a pric! He thinks he's a cop. He tried locking my daughter and I IN the laundry room for the night (their dryer was screwed up so it took another 15 min he couldn't wait for) made me take our wet clothes out and haul them home. They never fix ANYTHING. The lock on my storage has been broken since I got it (6mo ago) my door looks like it's been kicked in toilets been broken forever along with other lights. They're super nice and concerned when you first move in but month 2 when I was 1 day late cuz my payday fell on a Friday and their last day was Thursday I got hit with hella fees and attitude. She wouldn't even look at me. Like I personally offended her! Oh and don't forget only one of my coolers works and it's hot as HELL! I don't recommend this place on my worst enemy!
