We were in Studio A and we choose the 7' Baldwin Grand Piano to record with and man did it sound beautiful. The studio and recording equipment is top notch, and your choices for pianos and organs are astounding. Just take a look on their website for all their gear. The guys working there were really helpful and the process was fast and smooth. It's not cheap though, you're paying for the best here. That's mainly why we had to go in after hours, to save some coin (I know a guy who knows a guy ;). Once I become a rock star though I intend to really test this place out. I ended up adding him on Facebook and keeping in touch with him because he was such good vibes. My favourite part about the studio was all of the light that came in through the giant windows. Daniel says that we got lucky when we shot because it was really sunny that day. He has lights available for rent as well, just in case your rental coincides with a cloudy day and not as much natural light flows through. Aside from that, I think he has some of the most reasonable prices to rent photography studio space in Toronto. Would definitely recommend.

It's a big…read moreroom with high ceilings, a vocal booth and a great homey feel to it (Which is due mostly to the fact that it is a home, John actually lives there. You might even find yourself rocking out while John's eating cereal and answering emails on his computer. Where else can you find that?). The best part about this place though is the extensive vintage instrument collection at your disposal. He has a bunch of awesome guitars you can use, an upright piano, a drum set and an awesome Wurlitzer. Plus a bunch of other cool stuff that we never even got to. I forget what it ended up costing us per day, but it was decent rate. I guess the myspace page is the best way to contact him. I have recorded voiceovers for radio and television a few times at Post City and it has always been…read morea pleasure and a completely professional experience. They owners just completed a huge addition to their studio so now not only is it filled with more state of the art equipment that allows them to accommodate many different types of projects. In the east section of the studio is the more grand entrance where clients are welcomed with high ceilings, comfortable and stylish decor and a brand new kitchen to allow them to feel at home should they be working long hours there with the engineers, as is often necessary. To your immediate right is a mixing studio with a screen equivalent in size, visual clarity and most importantly thx and dolby certified mixing capabilities, like you would find in most modern movie theatres. It is in this studio where the larger, big budget, motion picture projects take place. Any production and directorial staff involved will feel very cozy in the couches that sit behind a spectacular console that as stated above is a cut above the rest, and looks (when all lit up) like youre manning the Starship Enterprise. (i truly believe that it is because of stuff like this that engineers decide to become sound experts in the first place.) On the same wing (if you will) of Post City you will find a small yet open room where you might take the time for a discussion away from the recording studio to hash out ideas or what have you. It is equipped with windowed sliding doors so you don't feel claustrophobic. A further step inwards towards the centre of the studio and youll find an engineer toiling away in a smaller, yet still comfortable room geared towards the post production of shows requiring, perhaps more basic needs like reality programming. Finally on the other side (wing!), which has it's own entrance you will find a lovely bar adorned with celebratory bottles of wine Post City has accumulated from wrap up parties/sessions for television productions they round out. Look on the walls and many signed movie posters of their projects adorn it, as well as a shelf with a few Genie Awards too. It is here where I have done the voiceover sessions. This section also has a large screen, excellent sound capability and consoles, that are geared towards the technical needs of dramatic/comedic, probably indie production projects and commercials. One popular program that this studio takes care of is Little Mosque on the Prairie. Adjacent to this smaller mixing space, is a small sound booth where looping, adr, voiceovers for programming and voiceover artists reels can be done. Feel free to grab some refreshments in this area as well, as it is equipped with its own beer fridge and microwave. The best thing about Post City, in addition to its knowledgeable and affable staff is its affordability coupled with its state of the art production facilities, and that is not only in terms of machinery but also in terms of personnel like Sound Dogs, a great company in their own right, who lie at the forefront of post production sound creation. Pino Halili and Allan Ormerod are the diligent and progressive owners and they make it their mission to provide the best service and product at great value.

Got a few special orders for pickup after Purolator lost our initial guitar purchase (terrible…read moreservice from Purolator, if you order online I suggest shipping insurance). Unfortunately it was a discontinued guitar so we had to grab a demo and didn't want to risk shipping an order that might get lost again. We called for a special order from Nate and it went relatively smoothly. When the order was ready for pickup, we went in store, and Sandra was very helpful and accommodating. The first order was a demo transferred from Quebec, so she let us try out the guitar in store, and we found some issues with the tone knob. She got a tech to help fix the tone knob, and the guitar was otherwise in decent condition, so we kept it. She also noted 1 year warranty and a free setup that can be claimed later, which was great to know especially for used/demo purchases. We were happy with the first order so we asked her for a second special order from the Burlington store, and it came in damaged unfortunately, even though we ordered new (looked like the package wasn't prepared properly from the Burlington store that shipped it). The bottom edge of the guitar was completely chipped, and was pretty dirty/scuffed. It seems that new does not mean unopened, but rather that it has not been on the store display before. Luckily we were also able to try this at the store to find out. The manager offered a discount but we really wanted a new guitar, so we did a third special order from the Owen Sound location. This time things went a lot more smoothly and the guitar came in great condition, and was packaged for transport properly. Sandra ensured us that the package had not been opened before which was great news. She had even kept us in the loop during the entire process, letting us know when it will be handled and when to expect the order. Looks like each store has variations in customer service, logistics, and handling of guitars, so it might be a hit or miss sometimes, but luckily we had a good experience with Sandra and the team at this location. My only criticisms are that these variations made it pretty frustrating to purchase when they don't work out as planned (even with a great sales rep), and selling opened guitars as new without checking its condition thoroughly is not great practice. I would suggest anyone looking to purchase from Long and McQuade to thoroughly check the guitar even if it is new, and perhaps find a good sales rep that can help you ease the experience.

And cited it was "the law" that the couldn't take my gear. Solely taking advantage of your customers that spend tons of money and time in your store. Thank you yet again for another horrible experience and a waste of time like usual. Don't spend money here. They're cheap and recklessly unprofessional. I will be making a note to all and anyone to avoid this horrible store. I can't believe you have employees citing laws and then refusing to allow the customer to speak to the manager. Even if I did have the money to shop at your store I never will ever again. Rest assured. I feel personally disgusted by the lack of respect and care at your store.
