Very unreceptive to fixing there issues.. my sunroom still leaks from day one, and they found all sort of excuses not too repair it.. They came by after 6 months and left tar all over my deck and weatherproof tape ..never cleaned up there mess.. still leaks.. Mr Miller, refuses to take responsibility for mediocre work done and now the fan they installed in the sunroom.. now leaks also.. do not use this company to build you're sunroom.. they will bandaid the issue and don't stand behind there work.. my floors got ruined twice and still they won't come out after 26 calls and 7 appt they made and never showed up.. read more

Taking to Scott they never finished putting the molding back on the floor after the tile was laid and when the split the light a small area where the junction box is needs to be sanded and textured. They had said they would come back and finish but Hurricane Irma and people without roofs was more important than floor molding. Poor Scott did not now the guys did not do it, they did in one spot but it's too big and not mitered. I am really hoping that they finish this for me. I have Ataxia with Short Term Memory Loss and Severe Vestibular Sensory Migraines and finally after 3 years can make sense out of things. Getting my first wheelchair and looking down a lot, it would be nice to see finished molding on the floor., just in the bathroom, toilet area and closet. All the areas they took the molding out. Yes I did give The Remoding Guys a bad review, with Robin still there and knowing all the challenges, she sent out 2 of the best In my opinion Masters at their craft... Nick and Matt. Best of all, I can not wait to call Robin in about a year to enclose our patio. What a terrific team, the customer service excels now under new leadership! I look forward to working with them again. We signed a contract and gave them a down payment of $1200.00 with this company on 6/14/18 for a sun room. We knew at the time that it would take 20-24 weeks before they could get to our job. We changed our order so the clock was reset to maybe begin work in Jan 2019. Not hearing anything from them - my husband began emailing/calling for an update - anything. Blaine was the only one to return a call but we have no answers. As of today, August 24, 2019 - no sun room and at this point we just want our deposit back. read more

Nightmare. Unprofessional. Messy. Late, Late, Late. Horrible Contact. I was told 15 weeks. Took about 24. I was given "my word" by Ryan multiple times that we will start "this week". Almost 2 months of "this week, I give you my word". I contacted the salesman, Tom to help with the problems. The only time I could get him on the phone is if he picked up. He never, ever returned my calls. I emailed the main office contact and left phone messages. Not once did anyone call from the office and address my issues. During the construction the workers left garbage all over my lawn. I had to clean up after them. They also left the pile of dirt on my grass killing an area of 10 feet by 5. It remained a pile in my yard for two weeks. I told the company, Tom and Ryan multiple times to remove it and not dump it in the preserve behind my house. I came home one day to find it exactly where I told them not to put it, in the reserve. Having written all that... the lanai is beautiful. I will give credit for that. Although, during construction I noticed the door was being put in a different place than I planned with Tom, the salesman. They did correct the position the next day. Thank you. So, all in all. My grass is dead. I will have to replace it. The lanai is beautiful. Would I recommend them? Absolutely not. My neighbor had them install a slab and I talked him out of the enclosure. read more

The project turned out great and the product is excellent. The sales end was very disappointing in that as soon as the sale was complete, he came on sight one time, that we are aware of. After trying to contact Michael (I think that was his name since it has been about a year that you're asking this question) several times, I gave up and started calling the office in which they just forwarded the message and then I got a call back from Michael. Side note, office staff was very nice on the phone. I specifically told him not to do anything without my permission, regarding the electric but if there would be no charge, to go ahead. Later I received a bill for additional, about $700. My mom paid with a check stating paid in full for which was contracted. After much aggravation, I spoke to a very nice manager and agreed to pay $350 of which I didn't have to. Only because I didn't want any repercussions in case any future repair work had to be done. So far so good. One couple more things, the job was promised to be completed in less than 6 weeks (I actually think it was 3 but can't confirm the paperwork since I am at work). I just know it was to be completed before my mom moved in Feb 28, 2016 and it wasn't considered done until June. Lastly, Michael tried to collect (finally heard from him) just before Thanksgiving last year and there was worked to be fixed and he got pushy when I said no. We had been looking at the Solara Magic Wall to enclose our large waterfront porch for a few years. We finally took the plunge after Hurricane Irma did damage to the roll down plastic we had been using. The Remodeling Guys are the installers. The install is now complete and we are thrilled with the craftsmanship and functionality. Yes, it did take longer than we initially expected but this is more a reflection of a tight job market for skilled crafts people. I'd rather wait than have poor work done because of market conditions and in the end it was well worth the wait. Nick and Chris were perfectionists, on time, and professional. We had a slight miscommunication about a walk-out which was quickly resolved to our satisfaction. Emails and phone calls were promptly returned by the office staff and Mark, the president. Since all the work was custom built and fitted to our existing structure it would have been unrealistic to expect shorter install times. read more

The workers were excellent. Brandon deserves a 5 star rating !!! He was excellent and came and finished in a day what we had been waiting for for over a year. Upper management is NOT organized at all and scheduling is a joke. We had so many promises that were not kept. It took about a year and a half to get this Lanai done. Thank God for Brandon. His helper Austin was very good too. We have to wait Abe see if we are satisfied as it took forever to finish. Looks good but need to wait to make sure electrical and leaks are taken care of. BUYER BEWARE!!! Wish I could give them 0 stars! My experience with Ryan Shannon and The Remodeling Guys, first as a salesman and then, as he subsequently represented himself, as the owner of The Remodeling Guys in Lakeland, Florida has been one nightmare after another. Took more than 6 months to complete building the Four Seasons sunroom, which now leaks, due to a variety of factors, i.e. poor scheduling and phasing of work, inability to obtain product from Four Seasons, inaccurate ordering of materials, inaccurate measuring requiring re-ordering and lengthy waits for materials and vendor changes for materials. Office staff was woefully incompetent and it was extremely difficult to resolve problems. When the job was finally finished, there was difficulty in obtaining warranties for all components of the work that was done. Ryan Shannon seemed to believe that the blanket "lifetime" warranty from The Remodeling Guys was sufficient. Is it? Are they still in business? No one answers the company phone, not even an answering machine and their website is no longer functional. On May 22, 2020, I called Ryan Shannon to report that the Four Seasons Sunroom, built by Nicholas Buzzella who was working with The Remodeling Guys at the time of the build, had developed a leak and that the downspout that was installed was not securely attached to the structure. Note that this room is not yet a year old. Ryan Shannon asked that I give him a few days to arrange for the repair. He asked that I send him pictures, which I did promptly. On May 26, 2020, I received a text from Ryan Shannon that he was still waiting to hear from Nick. I have not heard from Ryan Shannon, Nick Buzzella or Four Seasons, all of whom were contacted, since I last initiated contact with Ryan Shannon on June 4, 2020. No one has been sent by Ryan Shannon to make the appropriate repairs. Ryan Shannon, who issued a "lifetime" warranty for the sunroom, told me to call Four Seasons to see if they have someone in the area since he and Nick were very busy. So much for his "lifetime" warranty assurance. So much for Four Seasons! Seems like it's business as usual. During the course of my 6+ months build, I constantly heard "I'm working on it." Now that I have a problem in a room that is less than 1 year old, I am hearing "I'm working on it." Seems like that is how Ryan Shannon does business that is he "works on it" but it requires an inordinate amount of your time to follow-up to get things done. But note, in this case, the leak in the 1 year old sunroom has still not been addressed by Ryan Shannon. I regret that I did not heed the warnings before getting involved with Ryan Shannon, The Remodeling Guys and those associated with them. I would never recommend any of them, including Nick, who, near the end, felt he could be downright disrespectful to me in response to a question I asked by saying that he communicated the reason for the unevenness of the frame to "the man of the house" and that he wasn't responsible if "there was no communication in my household." Now, now. Is this how you speak to a client? This is sad, since the outcome is a nice room, leak withstanding. In fact, Nick has taken the liberty of showcasing our room on his website. But I would never subject anyone to the kind of attitude suggested by his comment to me. Also, I can't help but wonder what will happen if another problem with the room develops, since no one involved with the building of this room has been responsive. Fingers crossed. On the Facebook page for Ryan Shannon's new screening business, at least one of his glowing endorsements is from a relative and another from someone he did or does business with. Check the reviews for The Remodeling Guys on various sites as well as the Better Business Bureau and pay particular attention to those reviews dated in 2018 when he was in sales for the company and then those dated in 2019-2020 when he said he was the owner to make a decision about doing business with him. THE REMODELING GUYS/ SOLARA INDUSTRIES BUYER BEWARE! After visiting the Home Show in Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg with my 87-year-old uncle, The Remodeling Guys, presented a magic window sunroom. He signed a contract (plus deposit) on July 20, 2017 to have the sunroom built. Upon signing the contract, we were told it would be up before Thanksgiving. We were concerned the hurricane would set back that time frame; the response was "no." On December 14, 2017, a phone call came requesting an additional $5935.00 to order material. I wanted to know the start install date. Again, the caller couldn't give us a date. My uncle's 88th birthday is the end of February. In one of my emails to the company, I told them that my uncle was 87 years old, not in very good health, an Army veteran (active duty in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam) of 30 years - this meant nothing to them. During that phone call, I stated that IF we have a definite start date of February 22, 2017 we would consider sending the additional monies. Six days later an email confirmed February 22nd "is a tentative date to start, barring any unforeseen setbacks." After reading this, we had very little confidence that the install was going to happen on that date. "Unforeseen setbacks" - what does that really mean? Apparently, this company thinks having a customer wait at least SEVEN months for a sunroom is okay. After reading other negative reviews on the Internet about Solara Industries, Inc. (YELP and Better Business Bureau), we decided to end this nightmare. We paid the 15% cancelation fee ($3,117.60) to this company. After cancelling the job, a company representative, Robin Grady, wrote in an email, "We received your certified letter of cancellation notice. I am perplexed on the reason for your decision, since I have record of all emails being responded to." Are you kidding me? Do you really think we are canceling the contract over emails? We didn't get what was promised - a sunroom in 12-16 weeks. The last email from Robin Grady couldn't understand why we canceled because we were "so close to the start date." Really? We have a feeling that there would have been some kind of "unforeseen circumstance" on February 22nd. After reading the other people's problems with this company, I think we made the right decision. Say away from this company! A 90 year old widow friend of mine contracted with this company mid December 2016 for a $10,000 shower, She gave them a $1,000 deposit and didn't see the "Project Manager" again until mid June after numerous calls that were not answered. When he came out he collected another large sum and said he would order the walls and shower pan. After 3 weeks we called them again and when they came out to install it, the Project Manager ordered the wrong pan size. Another 3 weeks went by and they installed the pan and walls. Then they subcontracted with a Glass company to do the glass walls and shower. The glass company came out to take measurements- they e-mailed the Project Manager their quote. The Project Manager verbally said to go ahead with the job, but at the same time the glass company wanted an e-mail confirmation. The Project Manager never sent the confirmation so another 3 weeks went by. The Project Manager never followed through with anything that he said he would. The guys that did the actual work Joe and John did an excellent job. Great workmanship and very polite. This " Project Manager" needs to be fired! He hardly ever returned our phone calls and text messages unless I got nasty. When the job was completed he wanted the workers to collect the $800.00 balance. He should have inspected the job and collected the money at that time. This job was finally completed September 20, 2017. What a disgrace that a 90 year old women had to deal with this! read more

This a horrible place to work for all they do is lie and tell you you will make alot of money being a lead installer...they screwed me over for a few months and wanted to knock me down 10 dollars an hour cause the people in the office dont know how to do there jobs and hire more help... Plus they cut corners and they put things together cheaply as possible..theres only two good people in that whole company and it's Nick and chis...scott is terrible to talk to and doesn't know how to presight or even measue. Anything..and when I confronted Scott about my pay cut cause the couldn't hire me a helper he fired me..yes I got mouthy but who wouldn't when you try to knock someone down 10 an hour...if I where you looking for a sunroom job there's one in Tampa that will actually treat you with respect..and not a piece of crap....i moved down here from PA for this job cause they promised me alot of things and yeah I seen the money for maybe two weeks then my pay got cut in half..due to them not hiring other help for the leads...even people looking for someone to build a sunroom I would take ur business else where..this company is a joke and have never seen a company so messed up and there's not one person in that office that knows what they are doing....if you still have a contract with them for a room I feel bad for you..you can get a better deal and better product from the sunroom company in Tampa...he actually has 20+ years of experience building them in flordia...hopedully this helps people I've seen it from the inside and I would run honestly or get an attorney or have one on hand..ive had numerous jobs where they sent me with the wrong materials and wrong size windows... read more

Here is the reason for giving them a one star. Though my Sun room came out great because of the great work done by Mike and Brandon (which by the way are sub contractors) the Remodeling Guys Customers services is really bad. Not just bad but really bad. First they told us that it will be completed on one given day and that was not the case, it took longer than expected. The Project Manager ( Scott) came to see the project at the beginning and maybe one more time and never again. Even after completion and all of the punch list we had which Mike took care of it. We called and called Scott, Mark ( CEO) and office and they always gave us the run around instead of telling us the truth. At the beginning before we signed contract we received a number of calls from them but after that they hardly wanted to talk to us. In one instance The inspection was not approved due to an item which we had discussed needed to be complete because of the inspector came and told us. The form was with Scott all along and we had to wait yet another two weeks to get it all done. The CEO Mark, Robin from corporate office were rude. I have a few friends that have asked about our Sun Room and we only tell them that they better deal with the sub contractor because they are more professional that the actual company. Am I dissatisfied with my Sun Room, the answer is no because of the great work Mike and Brandon did, however I am dissatisfied with what the others did! Customer Services is and should be a must for any successful company. You never know how that will pay off on the long run. Before you go and do your Sun Room with Remodeling Guy/ Solara Industry, shop around and get a company that values truly your business. They remodeled my master bathroom...they started on July 5 and in October, I was begging them to come finish by installing the glass shower doors. They wanted to collect the balance at that time, and I said I wasn't sure how much I owed and I would be happy to discuss it with Scott...the GC who said he would be there every day and who I never saw after picking out the tile. Well, I never heard from Scott or anyone, even after I showed them that the doors were leaking all over the floor. Then, I got a collection call for $1,400 and I nearly lost it. Once I explained that the shower door leaked (a lot) she talked to someone else and told me I could keep the money to get it fixed. (Thanks) Then the tiles in the shower started "oozing" and breaking. So I hired someone else to come and they had to replace the shower floor, add a threshold and pull up the tiles that had been installed incorrectly and replace it with a marble slab. Of course, this was far more than the $1,400 held back. This was a $23K remodel...and I know it was a lot of work, but it took me a year to find someone who would even attempt fixing it. After moving to our new house in South Tampa, my wife and I had a flurry of different ideas on making better use of our backyard space. Both our research and subsequent meeting with a design specialist from The Remodeling Guys (TRG) led us to a solution that ended up being just right, if not absolutely amazing: a multifunction sunroom from Four Seasons - the "LifeRoom." I have to say we've never enjoyed a space quite like this and it was the TRG that brought it to *life* for us: a perfect merging of both outdoors and indoors! Streamlined, strong; aesthetic, practical - our 'little sanctuary' of a room has been adding value to our lifestyle each day and night. TRG's Tom was already knowledgable with this newer product and took the time initially to work with us without any pressure, going over every aspect and customized option beforehand. Projected timeframes and cost were set within reason and all panned out to be within expectations. Also Nick, Michael, Scott and the rest of the team were courteous, professional and hard working. They provided us with daily updates to ensure our room was taking shape as we envisioned it, while also ensuring each inspection milestone passed. Subsequent follow up also demonstrated they stand by their work and client satisfaction. There have been some contractor horror stories, but I have to say from this experience that we are very pleased and would recommend TRG (or use them again for any future projects.) Thanks! read more
