The industry is very busy right now because of the storm. But my expectations are still for businesses to communicate if they can't come. So I searched YELP and sent requests for quotes. Direct Screening was one of the companies that responded. I posted on a Wednesday and Troy told me he could possibly fit me in on Sunday. He was very good and responsive with communication. He sent me a message on Thursday morning asking if he could come out in the evening since he had another job nearby. I told him he can come anytime because I was home. He text 30 minutes before he arrived. He was friendly and professional. We found another damaged screen panel that was small, and he quoted to fix it for an additional $20. His pricing overall was VERY reasonable. He repaired the screens in about an hour. It was impressive because one was directly over the pool so not possible to just put a ladder underneath. But that did not stop him from scaling the support beams and fixing the ceiling panel. After he was complete, he had several ways to pay, but we used Zelle. I would absolutely use Troy again and I will refer him to anyone else who is looking for screen repair or installation.

I bought a property in April 2024 to renovate and sell. Hough roofing had already been contracted, and the money paid to the title company to be forwarded to the roofer when the job was finished. It finally finished mid-November 2024, after they missed the entire month of May of no rain, and then claimed that they couldn't do the work because it was the rainy season. Excuse after excuse after excuse, all the while having active leaks in 2 of the 4 units this roof covered. What roofer does not come in and at least put temporary patches on a roof to stop active keaks? They did finally come do a temp patch 3 months later... At one point they actually blamed me for the delay, saying I had not signed off on the permit even though I had physically gone to their office to sign for the permit they said I didn't sign for. Then the owner went on vacation, so the job couldn't start until he got back because he wanted to "personally oversee the installation." They left the job site a mess on the owner's balconies to the extent that there were nails that then rusted and left stains on my and my neighbor's balconies. They pushed our renovation back by more than 4 months, costing me as an investor several thousand dollars in carrying costs. When I asked for a concession on the price, they said absolutely not. Check out the pic of the rain coming in the open skylight that happened while they were at lunch. Lol, hire this company at your own risk. Good luck.

Deceptive billing, silica dust disaster, and legal threats…read more This review is for: Floor Coverings International of Melbourne, FL (321) 499-2658 1270 Lake Washington Road Ste B Melbourne, FL 32935 Arthur Layman Tamara Whiteaker What started as a straightforward carpet replacement on our stairs turned into one of the worst contractor experiences I've had. Here's the full picture: Scheduling: Installers no-showed on the first scheduled date with no proactive communication. I had to call after they were already outside the arrival window to find out they weren't coming. Tile demo and dust: When installers discovered tile under the carpet, we were quoted a "worst case scenario" additional cost of $1,600 on top of the original $1,414.47. What they didn't mention was that the demo crew would leave every surface in our entire home -- upstairs, downstairs, soft furnishings, drapes, and our HVAC system -- coated in fine silica dust. No containment, no warning, no protection of any kind. This isn't just a mess, it's a serious health hazard. Even the lead demo worker acknowledged as he was leaving that he wouldn't be happy if it were his house. "Making it right": The company promised to make it right with a cleaning and a painter for the damaged walls and stairs. At no point during this process did anyone mention we would be charged for these remediation services. We have doorbell camera footage of the painter telling his worker that the flooring company was paying him -- not us. The cleaning was incomplete, with silica dust remaining on soft surfaces and in the HVAC. Surprise invoice: After carpet was finally installed, we received an invoice with a painter line item exceeding $1,000 -- no prior quote, no agreement, no breakdown. The work took under 2 hours and does not look good (bad sanding, one coat of paint - see through). We are going to get quotes to have it redone. The owner also revealed $200 of that line item was his personal fee for "coordinating" the painter. Threats: When my husband called to dispute the painter charge, the owner threatened small claims court if the full invoice wasn't paid within days, rather than engaging in any good-faith discussion. We are willing to pay what we actually agreed to despite the damage done to our home and belongings. Instead, we've been met with threats. Arthur failed to provide itemized cost breakdown as requested. Arthur failed to provide contractor license numbers as requested. Arthur subsequently sent a second threat for small claims court, followed by a threat to file a lien against our property. I mailed a letter and check for $2,329.14 (the total for what we had actually discussed), which was cashed. Arthur sent another letter threatening small claims again for the painter line item. On top of all of this, the carpet on the stairs looks like garbage. It is shedding all over even after vacuuming, the corners are popping out. We purchased the most expensive carpet option he showed us. I would give anything to go back in time and just leave the old carpet. This has not been an improvement to our home. This has been a nightmare.

We had a complete rescreen done by them on our pool enclosure. Rob and his crew did an excellent job. They were timely, knowledgeable and very respectful. The screens, bottom tough screens and new doors they installed look impeccable. The price was good as well. A few weeks later, I had question about sweeper options for the entry way screen door and Rob responded immediately and had a guy come out to talk to me about it. As in previous occasions, tge did a great job and at a reasonable price. This time, I ask them to replace all the screens in my old house, with Phifer 20x20 to minimize noseeums.. They replace several damaged screens within a couple of days and as a matter of fact they came during Labor day. Great to work with and very responsive. The refurbished por h looks great niw. The owner and office staff were very nice , until I had a problem…read more The person who came to resurface my bathtub did not use any sort of air ventilation during the whole process until the very end they used some sort of contraption for like 20 minutes to ventilate the chemicals outside. My special-needs son was there and my cat was there. They never said anything about you us leaving the house for a while or anything like that. They never gave me any instructions on what to do before, during or after the process and they did not leave any sort of instructions on what to expect. I walked in the door at 8:30pm at night and got blasted with this extreme chemical smell which I had a huge reaction to. I called them the next day and they said oh it should be gone in 24 hours. No it was not gone. I had to open up my whole house go buy some air purifiers and fans and still a week later I had horrible chemical fumes. I had a quality air guy come in and test the air and do an air scrub on it and I also had to go rent an air scrubber machine at Home Depot to try and get the fumes out of my house, now it's two weeks after and I still have the fumes in my house that he says are not toxic in any way , I requested SDS sheets that are required by law and they have yet to get them to me and now they are not responding. If you are sensitive to chemicals in any way, do not get this process done without getting all the chemical information before they do it! Lesson learned with a lot of pain!
