I just returned from donating some sheets, a comforter, a cat bed, old kitchen towels (for…read morecleanup), most of a 25lb bag of cat litter, a FULL bag of cat food & some cans, a carrier & a pillow to these folks. Probably over 200$ worth of things-just to make a point. While I realize they're run predominantly by volunteers & they're probably stressed and busy, the way I was just treated is terrible. I just had my almost 23 year old cat put to sleep on Monday afternoon after a stroke. I'm devastated but trying to honor him by donating his things-I took the time to launder everything for them yesterday to cut down on their work load after speaking with Patricia on Monday night. Patricia was very kind-also want to make that point. When I arrived, there didn't seem to be any access to the place. Again, I get it, volunteers are busy. I was brushed off by an employee I saw entering the building, who told me to just leave it outside the door & that someone would come and get it. Ok. I stacked his things by the door. I sat in my car & cried. Ten minutes went by. No one came to get the things. I decided to try the front door, just to make sure they were aware the things were there (& , frankly, it was a bit hard for me to just leave the stuff outside in the parking lot). I tried the front door-locked. I decided to just go, but a woman popped out the front door with an immediate attitude-"You need to give us a minute!". I told her, ok, I just left some things for donation, I just had my cat put to sleep on Monday. She asked where I left them & I told her over by the other door. She asked, sharply, "Where? The back door?". I told her no, right around the corner. At this point, this woman had the audacity to ask me "why are you so angry?". My face was swollen, I feel pretty sure it was clear I'd just been crying. I asked if she was serious & she responded, "Yeah! I am!" ZERO empathy for someone grieving the loss of a pet-from someone who works with people & animals. I was stunned, I still am half an hour later. I was planning on returning to adopt from this place when I'm ready for new babies AND to donate time AND money. Not now. I'm absolutely stunned at the way I was just treated. I cannot recommend this place, especially after seeing numerous other reviews from other folks who've been treated similarly.

I will gladly drive somewhere else for a cleaner environment. Oh, and not to mention, I will never buy my dogs raw food or Open farm kibble here because it's so much more expensive than where I currently buy it. I was warmly welcomed and the wonderful member told me after talking via phone and during the visit, he recommended a few cats that might be a match. I was very impressed that when I asked about a specific cat, immediately, I was told about the traits of the cat and the history. I honestly believe people have a right to their opinions, but truly when reading negative reviews, I can only stress that my experience was very positive. All questions were addressed, and I left feeling they were doing the very best for the welfare of the animals in their care. Unlike other shelters, or places where animals are available for a huge amount of thousands of dollars, I came away knowing they had the welfare of the animals at the top of the list. Their fees are very reasonable. I had a wonderful time visiting with the cats, my questions were addressed, and I was impressed with how much care the animals receive. There were many toys and towers built so the animals could be busy and not caged all day long. I lost my beloved cat a few months ago to a nasty asthmatic condition she had since a kitten. My grief is still present, and, while I know I cannot replace her, I will return to adopt a cat that I know will be the best match for me.

After contacting her vet, I was pushed off to a future date and the callous and non caring approach was unacceptable. I searched for other options and had come across the Quakertown location of the Bucks County SPCA. The treatment, respect and caring that was afforded to me far surpassed most of the experiences that I had encountered over the years at various Vet offices. I applaud the outstanding effort and caring that was extended to me. All of this compassion made a horrendously difficult and emotional time easier to handle as my beautiful Bella crossed over.

Prior to that we were waiting at a neighbor's house for cops to come watching the property owner illegally entering our RV and taking our stuff. As soon as cops got there he was all being a goody goody and did nothing but talk about us and lying about us the whole time. Then we left , stopped at CVS because I had an asthma attack. My honey called 911. They took me to Doylestown for a breathing treatment. I know after all we had just been through we both looked bad. We hadn't slept much and we took care of our baby girl feeding her, letting her drink out of her steel fountain. She loved it. Gave her her medications. Doylestown treated me like a fungus or something and kept refusing to let me leave without blood tests. I told them I had just had them done the week before. But they kept insisting. I told them to let me out because my honey and my kitty were waiting out in the pkg lot for me. Finally they let me out. They thru some mans cadaver suit on me and rolled me down to the lobby to wait . After I got picked up by my honeys mother and him he told me what happened. After. The ambulance took me. Cops showed up on scene, gave my disheveled looking honey who was a senior with a bad hip a field test. Then booked him for DUI. We don't drink! Neither one of us drink alcohol. Then an officer from spca showed up and took my baby stating she looked dehydrated and underweight and hair was falling out. They decided to take us to court for neglect. WE NEVER NEGLECTED OUR BABY AND I HAVE PROOF OF ALL THAT. She was my child . I kept all her bedding clean, everywhere she went I kept clean. Whenever she went in the box one time I cleaned it out. I put cocoa nut oil lightly on her skin to soothe it before that I used kitty wipes for her body and special wipes for her ears . Changed all her dishes and fountain to stainless steel and whenever she ate I cleaned them. Daddy made special tshirts for her to wear to keep her from clawing at her skin. I bought a warming pad for her bed and changed her bedding every nite. Before Daddy put her shirt on every nite he lightly brushed her because she was a long hair tuxedo. She was the runt of the litter so she was very small anyways. There's a part two.
