When trying to pick up the luggage I checked in with, one of the ladies at the reception began yelling across the lobby for my storage ticket even though the concierge was already trying to help me. During breakfast my mother and I waited in line as they loudly berated the man ahead of us about whether or not his company was paying for breakfast. Not sure what the actual issue was, but it was unprofessional to confront a customer in front of other guests. Overall the amenities are alright, but the staff attitude is not pleasant. Would not recommend unless you are ready for verbal combat at 7 in the morning or after a 10 hour flight.

I don't know if Indira is still the apartment manager, but she was wonderful - really kind, generous, helpful at all times, she made everything SO much easier. We had such a rough time upon arrival - it took a while to find a place and we ended up having to extend our stay twice, and the first time we moved to a studio from a 1-bedroom. There's no place to park in front/back - something entirely new to us as in the U.S. all hotels have big parking lots and front spaces to at least drop off your luggage - but our harried driver dropped our bags off on the curb and the lovely receptionists came out and quickly, methodically picked up everything (there was a LOT as we were moving countries!) and brought them all to our room. The temperature settings were a bit iffy, there were some drain flies, and you have to get your own toilet tissue after the first couple rolls but it's basically a serviced flat. It was lovely and the concierge/receptionists would take our deliveries and takeaway straight to us. They were very nice and understanding and when we moved rooms, they carried all our luggage for us! They were very patient and overall just were an excellent customer service team, and made us feel very welcome and at home.

The room I stayed in had a shower, while my family's room had a bathtub. I enjoyed my hot showers aside from the water spraying outside the shower, since there was no shower door. However, the bathtub was extremely relaxing as it was the perfect size for one person to lay down and enjoy. The bathrooms were slightly small but there was good counter space. The bed was very comfortable. I usually struggle on trips because the beds and pillows may be stiff, but I fell fast asleep here. There was also a desk, a mini fridge, a teapot with tea and biscuits, and a television. The TV was outdated but it still played some shows. We opted to watch Netflix on our laptop instead. There was a restaurant conveniently placed downstairs for an affordable continental breakfast. They didn't serve alcohol though; I would have liked to sit downstairs or in the garden to relax and enjoy a drink. The hookah bar downstairs was lovely, but 50 pounds for a hookah? I could not justify such a purchase. When I go out to smoke hookah, the most I've been charged was 35 dollars. The hookah bar and the restaurant connected to the garden outside, where I enjoyed the fresh air and a few cigarettes. The staff was welcoming, helpful, and attentive. I am thankful for this hotel for making our stay comfortable.

All the reviews here look much older so let me update you with my latest stay here…read more We stayed there for a few nights and while the hotel is very conveniently located and the room was big, there was mold in the bathroom. The room also smelled old and moldy. Water pressure in the bathroom was terrible and the shower curtain did absolutely nothing to prevent the water to spill over to the toilet side. Once we flushed the toilet we couldn't flush it for at least next 30 minutes, it was so weird. The toilet also didn't have a cover and the water splashed out of the toilet on to the toilet seat and God knows where else. The bathroom sink was also right next to the toilet so if you have mobility issues good luck. The bathroom looked equipped with safety features but it was still dangerous due to mold, water spilling, no toilet seat cover when you can't flush for next 30 minutes after the first one and the placement of toilet seat in relation to the sink. It was very very weird. We had to pee and could not flush the toilet. Thank god we didn't have to go no. 2 right after one another because THERE WAS NO COVER! YOU CAN'T COVER YOUR POO AND YOU CAN'T FLUSH IF SOMEONE USED THE TOILET BEFORE YOU!!

When I arrived here, the staff said that they were committed that I would have an experience that was different from other anonymous hotels and that I would truly feel at home. I want to say that I left after being entirely spoiled including being provided with a fridge, documents scanned, and a private place to work with a great patio at no cost, the best hotel breakfast I had in England, and wonderful fish and chips, green curry and pizzas throughout the visit by Paul's team. Most importantly, I felt known there, having conversations with so many staff, including a mom and daughter bartender and server from the Ukraine, a new graduate of business school, and Michael, who kept sharing different English breakfast items I needed to try each day. A particularly enjoyable moment was discussing the show Sex and the City and which characters each of the staff and I were. The front desk assistants were very mindful and, willing to assist with just about anything you may have had questions about from getting you a taxi to making suggestions on where to eat or even just checking to make sure you were enjoying your stay. I only thing that made me give them a 4-star rating is, it the entrance to the hotel is odd, and there's no clear signage so if you or your uber haven't been to the area when you are first arriving it, is hard to find. The hotel is located in the middle of a plaza/residential building and there's no clear parking to drop off zone for patrons. You're left dragging heavy bags from the street corner all the way across to the entrance. But overall the hotel was very clean, modern and comfortable.

The typical check-in time is 3PM, so I was pleasantly surprised. Check-in was smooth. They mentioned two out of three of our rooms were upgraded without extra charge, but comparing my room to my parent's room, they looked the same. The only upgrade would probably be the free tin of biscuits from Cartwright & Butler. I requested to clean my room twice during my stay in London, but the staff would knock on my door each night asking if I needed anything. This level of service is something I haven't encountered, which exceeds my expectations. As for the room, it's a bit small. The rooms smell a bit musky in both my room and my parent's room. The bed was too soft and my body would sink into the mattress, which wasn't the most comfortable feeling. The hotel's gym was fully equipped with smart watch syncing features and water bottles. They had a rower, an elliptical, two treadmills, a weight machine, kettlebells, and dumbells. London is expensive, but if you want a convenient place to stay, Great Scotland Yard Hotel is a good choice.

Well maintained with a really comfortable bed and pillows. Mini bar of soft drinks and water included in the room. Massive bathroom with a great shower. Awesome water pressure, especially on the waterfall faucet. Room did have a constantly lingering smell of celery that we didn't like. It's the cleaning product or air freshener that they use but it's pretty intense. Staff was incredible friendly in all interactions. Helpful with any questions and also provided us water at the front desk when we asked for extra. Only major downside was the tiny room and celery scent.

It's a 5 minute walk from Paddington Station and The Central Line. You can take the Heathrow Express directly to Paddington station, which is a 15 minute train ride. It's also a short walk to Hyde Park if you're into that and a 10 minute walk to Kensington Palace. It's close to transportation without the noise of transportation! Amenities: I don't know how to describe this place. It's the opposite of modern, but not outdated. Traditional maybe? They ended up placing me in the King Suite, and let me tell you, this made all the difference in the world. So much room, an insanely comfortable 4 post bed. Since the breakfast room is small, you can opt to have your breakfast in your room instead. You just ask for a breakfast card, fill it out, and hang it on the door knob the night before. There's free wi-fi, but you do have to log in every time you use it and the connection can be spotty if you're skyping home. Other basics: minibar fridge, hair dryer, and toiletries. No iron, and nowhere to plug the hair dryer in the bathroom. You're forced to use it over by the desk, where at least there's a mirror. Staff: So great, friendly and accommodating. Things to be aware of. There is room noise. You will probably hear people upstairs flushing a toilet or showering or water gushing through the walls. It's an old building, so be aware of that. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to either pack some earplugs or stay somewhere else. For me, the loveliness of the hotel, location, and staff trump the noise. For a girl who likes to travel alone, this hotel feels like home and I would be happy stay here again.
