Available collection extends to earlier console games and titles. Take a look!

The store has an incredible selection of retro video games, consoles, and collectibles. Adam, the store owner, has a talent for maintaining older games in great condition. My fiance and I reignited our love for Pokemon games after purchasing some older titles from the store (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, Leaf Green). The cartridges were all prepped with new batteries and have been reliable for the past few weeks with constant play. Adam is very accommodating - on our second visit, he helped us test some Gameboy Advance trading link cables to see if they would work between a Gameboy Advance SP and the Analogue Pocket (conclusion: it works!). Even outside of the excellent merchandise, it is a joy to chat with Adam about video games and culture in general. He is truly knowledgeable, and any visitor will quickly see that this is his passion. I highly recommend that you stop by!

I've recently been hunting for games as a hobby and been to multiple if not all local retro game stores in North Jersey. I can confidently say no experience has been like my experience at The Retro Game Cave. The selection of games were incredible. No other location could even compare and Adam and Eric just made it such a great experience. I was able to buy 3 games that I've been searching for and was super happy with the price. You can tell they are passionate about what they do and are just all around amazing people. Will definitely be a regular here.

Adam was kind enough to return my call and explain to me he was out picking up more inventory for his store.

I highly recommend stopping into this place for three reasons…read more One, you need a serotonin boost Two, you're a tourist and want something very New York and actually unique to the city that you won't really find anywhere else Three, you're a collector or thinking about getting into retro video games Video Games New York has been around forever and I really hope it stays that way for a long time. It honestly feels like one of the last spots in the city where you can walk in and see this huge, slightly chaotic collection of games and consoles all in one place. The Nintendo 64 section is probably my favorite part. They have so many different variations it's kind of nostalgic overload in the best way. And they've also started adding video game soundtrack vinyls which is really dope and fits the vibe perfectly. The staff is also super cool and really knowledgeable without being overbearing. Just don't go in only to browse. Try to grab something if you can, even if it's just one of the anime themed sodas or a small piece of merch. Places like this really feel like they deserve the support so they can stick around.

They also buy your used items for credit or cash. With the Knicks win, they had a video of KAT visiting here with all his nostalgic for videogames.
